1 They brought in the ark of God and set it within the tent which David had pitched for it. Then they offered up holocausts and peace offerings to God.	1 Introdussero dunque l’arca di Dio e la collocarono al centro della tenda che Davide aveva piantato per essa; offrirono olocausti e sacrifici di comunione davanti a Dio.
2 When David had finished offering up the holocausts and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD,	2 Quando ebbe finito di offrire gli olocausti e i sacrifici di comunione, Davide benedisse il popolo nel nome del Signore.
3 and distributed to every Israelite, to every man and every woman, a loaf of bread, a piece of meat, and a raisin cake.	3 Distribuì a tutti gli Israeliti, uomini e donne, una pagnotta di pane, una porzione di carne arrostita e una schiacciata di uva passa.
4 He now appointed certain Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, to celebrate, thank, and praise the LORD, the God of Israel.	4 Egli stabilì che alcuni leviti stessero davanti all’arca del Signore come ministri, per celebrare, ringraziare e lodare il Signore, Dio d’Israele.
5 Asaph was their chief, and second to him were Zechariah, Uzziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel. These were to play on harps and lyres, while Asaph was to sound the cymbals,	5 Erano Asaf il capo, Zaccaria il suo secondo, Ieièl, Semiramòt, Iechièl, Mattitia, Eliàb, Benaià, Obed-Edom e Ieièl, che suonavano strumenti musicali, arpe e cetre; Asaf suonava i cimbali.
6 and the priests Benaiah and Jahaziel were to be the regular trumpeters before the ark of the covenant of God.	6 I sacerdoti Benaià e Iacazièl con le trombe erano sempre davanti all’arca dell’alleanza di Dio.
7 Then, on that same day, David appointed Asaph and his brethren to sing for the first time these praises of the LORD:	7 Proprio in quel giorno Davide per la prima volta affidò ad Asaf e ai suoi fratelli questa lode al Signore:
8 Give thanks to the LORD, invoke his name; make known among the nations his deeds.	8 «Rendete grazie al Signore e invocate il suo nome, proclamate fra i popoli le sue opere.
9 Sing to him, sing his praise, proclaim all his wondrous deeds.	9 A lui cantate, a lui inneggiate, meditate tutte le sue meraviglie.
10 Glory in his holy name; rejoice, O hearts that seek the LORD!	10 Gloriatevi del suo santo nome: gioisca il cuore di chi cerca il Signore.
11 Look to the LORD in his strength; seek to serve him constantly.	11 Cercate il Signore e la sua potenza, ricercate sempre il suo volto.
12 Recall the wondrous deeds that he has wrought, his portents, and the judgments he has uttered,	12 Ricordate le meraviglie che ha compiuto, i suoi prodigi e i giudizi della sua bocca,
13 You descendants of Israel, his servants, sons of Jacob, his chosen ones!	13 voi, stirpe d’Israele, suo servo, figli di Giacobbe, suoi eletti.
14 He, the LORD, is our God; throughout the earth his judgments prevail.	14 È lui il Signore, nostro Dio: su tutta la terra i suoi giudizi.
15 He remembers forever his covenant which he made binding for a thousand generations--	15 Ricordate sempre la sua alleanza, parola data per mille generazioni,
16 Which he entered into with Abraham and by his oath to Isaac;	16 l’alleanza stabilita con Abramo e il suo giuramento a Isacco.
17 Which he established for Jacob by statute, for Israel as an everlasting covenant,	17 L’ha stabilita per Giacobbe come decreto, per Israele come alleanza eterna,
18 Saying, "To you will I give the land of Canaan as your allotted inheritance."	18 quando disse: “Ti darò il paese di Canaan come parte della vostra eredità”.
19 When they were few in number, a handful, and strangers there,	19 Quando erano in piccolo numero, pochi e stranieri in quel luogo,
20 Wandering from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people,	20 e se ne andavano di nazione in nazione e da un regno a un altro popolo,
21 He let no one oppress them, and for their sake he rebuked kings:	21 non permise che alcuno li opprimesse e castigò i re per causa loro:
22 "Touch not my anointed, and to my prophets do no harm."	22 “Non toccate i miei consacrati, non fate alcun male ai miei profeti”.
23 Sing to the LORD, all the earth, announce his salvation, day after day	23 Cantate al Signore, uomini di tutta la terra, annunciate di giorno in giorno la sua salvezza.
24 Tell his glory among the nations; among all peoples, his wondrous deeds.	24 In mezzo alle genti narrate la sua gloria, a tutti i popoli dite le sue meraviglie.
25 For great is the LORD and highly to be praised; and awesome is he, beyond all gods.	25 Grande è il Signore e degno di ogni lode, terribile sopra tutti gli dèi.
26 For all the gods of the nations are things of nought, but the LORD made the heavens.	26 Tutti gli dèi dei popoli sono un nulla, il Signore invece ha fatto i cieli.
27 Splendor and majesty go before him; praise and joy are in his holy place.	27 Maestà e onore sono davanti a lui, forza e gioia nella sua dimora.
28 Give to the LORD, you families of nations, give to the LORD glory and praise;	28 Date al Signore, o famiglie dei popoli, date al Signore gloria e potenza,
29 Give to the LORD the glory due his name! Bring gifts, and enter his presence; worship the LORD in holy attire.	29 date al Signore la gloria del suo nome. Portate offerte ed entrate al suo cospetto, prostratevi al Signore nel suo atrio santo.
30 Tremble before him, all the earth; he has made the world firm, not to be moved.	30 Tremi davanti a lui tutta la terra. È stabile il mondo, non potrà vacillare!
31 Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice; let them say among the nations: The LORD is king.	31 Gioiscano i cieli, esulti la terra, e dicano tra le genti: “Il Signore regna!”.
32 Let the sea and what fills it resound; let the plains rejoice and all that is in them!	32 Risuoni il mare e quanto racchiude, sia in festa la campagna e quanto contiene.
33 Then shall all the trees of the forest exult before the LORD, for he comes: he comes to rule the earth.	33 Acclamino gli alberi della foresta davanti al Signore che viene a giudicare la terra.
34 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his kindness endures forever;	34 Rendete grazie al Signore perché è buono, perché il suo amore è per sempre.
35 And say, "Save us, O God, our savior, gather us and deliver us from the nations, That we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in praising you."	35 Dite: “Salvaci, Dio della nostra salvezza, radunaci e liberaci dalle genti, perché ringraziamo il tuo nome santo: lodarti sarà la nostra gloria.
36 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, through all eternity! Let all the people say, Amen! Alleluia.	36 Benedetto il Signore, Dio d’Israele, da sempre e per sempre”». Tutto il popolo disse: «Amen, lode al Signore».
37 Then David left Asaph and his brethren there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD to minister before the ark regularly according to the daily ritual;	37 Quindi Davide lasciò Asaf e i suoi fratelli davanti all’arca dell’alleanza del Signore, perché officiassero continuamente davanti all’arca, secondo il rituale quotidiano;
38 he also left there Obed-edom and sixty-eight of his brethren, including Obed-edom, son of Jeduthun, and Hosah, to be gatekeepers.	38 lasciò Obed-Edom, figlio di Iedutùn, e Cosa, insieme con sessantotto fratelli, come portieri.
39 But the priest Zadok and his priestly brethren he left before the Dwelling of the LORD on the high place at Gibeon,	39 Egli incaricò della Dimora del Signore che era sull’altura di Gàbaon il sacerdote Sadoc e i suoi fratelli sacerdoti,
40 to offer holocausts to the LORD on the altar of holocausts regularly, morning and evening, and to do all that is written in the law of the LORD which he has decreed for Israel.	40 perché offrissero olocausti al Signore sull’altare degli olocausti per sempre, al mattino e alla sera, e compissero quanto è scritto nella legge che il Signore aveva imposto a Israele.
41 With them were Heman and Jeduthun and the others who were chosen and designated by name to give thanks to the LORD, "because his kindness endures forever,"	41 Con loro erano Eman, Iedutùn e tutti gli altri scelti e designati per nome perché lodassero il Signore, perché il suo amore è per sempre.
42 with trumpets and cymbals for accompaniment, and instruments for the sacred chant. The sons of Jeduthun kept the gate.	42 Con loro avevano trombe e cimbali per suonare e altri strumenti per il canto divino. I figli di Iedutùn erano incaricati della porta.
43 Then all the people departed, each to his own home, and David returned to bless his household.	43 Poi tutto il popolo se ne andò, ciascuno a casa sua, e Davide tornò per benedire la sua famiglia.
