1 Annunzio pesante contro l'Egitto: Ecco, che il Signore salirà sopra una nuvola leggera, ed entrerà in Egitto, e alla presenza di lui si conturberanno i simolacri d'Egitto, e verrà meno il cuore nel petto all'Egitto.	1 Proclamation about Egypt: Look! Yahweh, riding a swift cloud, is coming to Egypt. The false gods ofEgypt totter before him and Egypt's heart quails within her.
2 E farò, che vengano alle mani Egiziani con Egiziani, e combatterà l'uomo contro iL proprio fratello, e l'uomo contro del suo amico, città contro città, regno contro regno.	2 I shal stir up Egypt against Egypt, they wil fight one another, brother against brother, friend againstfriend, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.
3 E l'Egitto resterà senza spirito nelle sue viscere, e distruggerò i suoi consigli, e consulteranno i loro simulacri, e i loro indovini, e i pitoni, e i maghi.	3 Egypt's spirit wil fail within her and I shal confound her deliberations. They will consult false gods andwizards, ghosts and sorcerers.
4 E darò l'Egitto in balia di padroni crudeli, e un re fiero gli dominerà, dice il Signore Dio degli eserciti.	4 And I shal hand Egypt over to the clutches of a cruel master, a ruthless king wil rule them -- declaresYahweh Sabaoth.
5 E il mare resterà senz'acqua, e il fiume si sperderà, e si seccherà.	5 The waters wil ebb from the sea, the river will dry up and run low,
6 E i fiumi mancheranno, caleranno, e resteranno asciutti i canali arginati, la canna, e il giunco anderanno male:	6 the streams wil become foul, the rivers of Egypt sink and dry up. Rush and reed wil turn black,
7 Il letto del canale sarà asciutto là, dove comincia, e tutta la semente, che si adacquava, seccherà, diventerà arida, e perirà.	7 the Nile-plants on the banks of the Nile; all the vegetation of the Nile, will wither, blow away and be nomore.
8 E saranno afflitti i pescatori, e piangeranno tutti quelli, che gettan l'amo nel fiume, e que', che stendono la rete sopra le acque, si consumeran di dolore.	8 The fishermen wil groan, it will be mourning for al who cast hook in the Nile; those who spread nets onthe waters wil lose heart.
9 Saranno confusi que', che lavoravano il lino, e lo pettinavano, e ne facevan de' fini lavori.	9 The workers of carded flax and the weavers of white cloth wil be confounded,
10 (Perocché i luoghi bagnati dalle acque saranno sfruttati), e tutti que', che facevan fosse per pigliar pesci.	10 the weavers dismayed, al the workmen dejected.
11 Stolti i principi di Tanes, i sapienti consiglieri di Faraone han dato un consiglio stolto. Come suggerirete voi a Faraone (che dica): Io figliuolo de' sapienti, io figliuolo de' regi antichi?	11 Yes, the princes of Zoan are fools, Pharaoh's wisest councillors make up a stupid council. How dare you say to Pharaoh, 'I am descended from sages, I am descended from bygone kings'?
12 Dove son ora i tuoi sapienti? annunzino a te, e ti espongano quello,che il Signore degli eserciti ha pensato sopra l'Egitto.	12 Where are these sages of yours? Let them tel you, so that all may know, the plans Yahweh Sabaothhas made against Egypt!
13 Stolti son divenuti i principi di Tanes, han perduto il cuore i principi di Memphi, hanno ingannato l'Egitto, capo de popoli di lui.	13 The princes of Zoan are fools, the princes of Noph, self-deceivers, the top men of her provinces haveled Egypt astray.
14 Il Signore ha diffuso in mezzo a loro lo spirito di vertigine, ed eglino hanno fatto, che l'Egitto erri in tutto quello, ch'ei fa, come va errando un briaco, che vomita.	14 Yahweh has infused them with a giddy spirit; they have led Egypt astray in al she undertakes like adrunkard straying about as he vomits.
15 È l'Egitto non farà opera, in cui si distingua il capo, e la coda, il suddito, e il superiore.	15 Nowadays no one does for Egypt what top and tail, palm and reed used to do.
16 In quel giorno gli Egiziani saran come donne, e diverranno stupidi, e paurosi al movimento della mano del Signore degli eserciti, la quale egli stenderà contro di loro.	16 That day Egypt will be like women, trembling and terrified at the threatening hand of Yahweh Sabaoth,when he raises it against her.
17 E la terra di Giuda sarà riverita dall'Egitto, e ognuno al ricordarsi di lei tremerà a motivo de' disegni formati dal Signor degli eserciti in favore di lei.	17 The land of Judah will become Egypt's shame; whenever she is reminded of it, she wil be terrified,because of the plan which Yahweh Sabaoth has laid against her.
18 In quel giorno cinque città saranno nella terra d'Egitto, che parleranno la lingua di Chanaan, e giureranno pel Signor degli eserciti. Una sarà chiamata città del sole.	18 That day in Egypt there wil be five towns speaking the language of Canaan and pledging themselvesto Yahweh Sabaoth; one of them will be cal ed City of the Sun.
19 In quel giorno sarà nel mezzo della terra d'Egitto l'altare del Signore, e il trofeo del Signore a' suoi confini.	19 That day there wil be an altar dedicated to Yahweh in the centre of Egypt and, close to the frontier, apil ar dedicated to Yahweh,
20 Sarà segno, e testimonianza renduta al Signor degli eserciti nella terra d'Egitto; imperocché invocheranno il Signore contro l'oppressore, ed ei manderà loro un salvatore, e difensore a liberarli.	20 and this will be a sign and a witness to Yahweh Sabaoth in Egypt. When they cry to Yahweh for helpbecause of oppressors, he wil send them a Saviour and leader to deliver them.
21 E il Signore sarà conosciuto dall'Egitto, e gli Egiziani confesseranno in quel dì il Signore, e lo onoreranno con ostie, e offerte, e faran voti al Signore, e gli adempiranno.	21 Yahweh will reveal himself to Egypt, and the Egyptians wil acknowledge Yahweh that day and wiloffer sacrifices and cereal offerings, and wil make vows to Yahweh and perform them.
22 E il Signore percuoterà l'Egitto con piaga, e lo sanerà, e torneranno al Signore, e si placherà con essi, e li sanerà.	22 And if Yahweh strikes Egypt, having struck he wil heal, and they wil turn to Yahweh who wil heartheir prayers and heal them.
23 In quel giorno sarà libero il passaggio dall'Egitto all'Assiria, e l'Assiro entrerà nell'Egitto, e l'Egiziano nell'Assiria, e serviranno (il Signore) gli Egiziani coll'Assiro.	23 That day there wil be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. Assyria will have access to Egypt and Egypthave access to Assyria. Egypt wil serve with Assyria.
24 In quel giorno Israele sarà in terzo coll'Egiziano, e coll'Assiro; la benedizione sarà in mezzo alla terra,	24 That day Israel will make a third with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing at the centre of the world,
25 A cui il Signore ha data benedizione, dicendo: Benedetto il popolo mio dell'Egitto, e l'Assiro, che è opra delle mie mani, e Israele mia eredità.	25 and Yahweh Sabaoth wil bless them in the words, 'Blessed be my people Egypt, Assyria my creation,and Israel my heritage.'
