1 And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,	1 E avvicinandosi a Gerusalemme, e alla Betania presso al monte delle ulive, mandò due de' suoi discepoli,
2 And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.	2 E disse loro: Andate nel villaggio,che vi sta dirimpetto, e al primo ingresso troverete legato un asinello non ancora domato: scioglietelo, e menatelo a me.
3 And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.	3 E se alcuno vi dirà: Che fate voi? Ditegli, che il Signore ne ha bisogno: e subito lo manderà qua.
4 And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him.	4 E andarono, e trovarono l'asinello legato alla porta fuori in un bivio: e lo sciolsero.
5 And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?	5 E alcuni de' circostanti disser loro: Che fate voi, che sciogliete l'asinello?
6 And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go.	6 Ed essi risposer loro, conforme aveva loro ordinato Gesù, e quelli lo lasciaron menar via.
7 And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him.	7 E condussero a Gesù l'asinello: sopra di cui misero le loro vesti, ed egli vi montò sopra.
8 And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.	8 E molti distendevano le loro vesti per la strada: altri troncavano rami dagli alberi, e gli spargevano per la strada.
9 And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:	9 E quelli, che andavan innanzi, e que', che venivano dietro, sciamavano, dicendo: Osanna:
10 Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.	10 Benedetto colui, che viene nel nome del Signore: benedetto il regno, che viene, del padre nostro Davidde: Osanna nel più alto de' cieli.
11 And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple: and when he had looked round about upon all things, and now the eventide was come, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve.	11 Ed entrò in Gerusalemme, e nel tempio: e osservate intorno tutte le cose, l'ora essendo già tarda, se n' andò a Betania con i dodici.
12 And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:	12 E il dì seguente, usciti che furono di Betania, ebbe fame.
13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.	13 E veduto da lontano un fico, che aveva delle foglie, andò a vedere, se a sorte vi trovasse qualche cosa: e fattosi dappresso, non trovò se non foglie: imperocché non era il tempo de' fichi.
14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.	14 E Gesù dissegli: Mai più in eterno non mangi alcuno deile tue frutta. E i discepoli l'udirono.
15 And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves;	15 E arrivarono a Gerusalemme. Ed essendo egli entrato nel tempio, cominciò a discacciarne quei, che vendevan, e compravano nel tempio: e gettò per terra le tavole de' banchieri, e le seggiole delle persone, che vendevano le colombe.
16 And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.	16 E non permetteva, che nissuno trasportasse arnesi pel tempio:
17 And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.	17 E gl'istruiva, dicendo loro: Non è egli scritto: La mia casa è casa di orazione per tutte le genti, ma voi l'avete cangiata in una spelonca di ladroni.
18 And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.	18 Lo che risaputosi dai principi de'sacerdoti, e dagli scribi, cercavano il modo di levarlo dal mondo; conciossiachè lo temevano, a motivo che tutto il popolo ammirava la sua dottrina.
19 And when even was come, he went out of the city.	19 E fattosi sera, uscì dalla città.
20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.	20 E la mattina nel passare videro il fico seccato fino alle barbe.
21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.	21 E Pietro risovvenutosi, gli disse: Maestro, guarda, come il fico da te maledetto si è seccato.
22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.	22 E Gesù rispose, e disse loro: Abbiate fede in Dio.
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.	23 In verità vi dico, che chiunque dirà a questo monte: Levati, e gettati in mare: e non esiterà in cuor suo; ma avrà fede, che sia fatto, quanto ha detto gli sarà fatto.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.	24 Per questo vi dico: Qualunque cosa domandiate nell'orazione, abbiate fede di conseguirla, e l'otterrete.
25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.	25 E quando vi presenterete per orare, se avete qualche cosa contro di alcuno, perdonategli: affinchè il Padre vostro, che è nei cieli, perdoni anch'esso a voi i vostri peccati.
26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.	26 Che se voi non perdonerete, nemmeno il vostro Padre, che è ne' Cieli, perdonerà a voi i vostri peccati.
27 And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders,	27 E ritornaron di nuovo a Gerusalemme. E mentre egli andava attorno pel tempio, se gli accostarono i sommi sacerdoti, è gli Scribi, e i seniori:
28 And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things?	28 E gli dissero: Con quale autorità fai tu queste cose. E chi ha dato a te tal balìa per far cose tali?
29 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.	29 Ma Gesù rispose, e disse loro: Domanderò anch'io a voi una cosa, e voi rispondetemi: e io vi dirò, con quale autorità faccia io queste cose.
30 The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me.	30 Il battesimo di Giovanni veniva dal cielo, o dagli uomini? Rispondetemi.
31 And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?	31 Ma essi ruminavano dentro di se, e dicevano: Se diremo, dal cielo, egli dirà: Perché dunque non, avete creduto a lui.
32 But if we shall say, Of men; they feared the people: for all men counted John, that he was a prophet indeed.	32 Se diremo, dagli uomini, abbiamo paura del popolo: conciossiachè tutti tenevano, che Giovanni fosse veramente profeta.
33 And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.	33 E risposero a Gesù: Nol sappiamo. E Gesù disse loro: Nemmeno io dico a voi, con quale autorità faccia io tali cose.
