Amos 2

KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime:	1 Ainsi parle Yahvé: Pour trois crimes de Moab et pour quatre, je l'ai décidé sans retour! Parce qu'il abrûlé les os du roi d'Edom jusqu'à les calciner,
2 But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kerioth: and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet:	2 j'enverrai le feu dans Moab, il dévorera les palais de Qeriyyot, et Moab mourra dans le tumulte, dansla clameur, au son du cor;
3 And I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all the princes thereof with him, saith the LORD.	3 je supprimerai le juge de chez lui, et tous ses princes, je les tuerai avec lui, dit Yahvé.
4 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have despised the law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after the which their fathers have walked:	4 Ainsi parle Yahvé: Pour trois crimes de Juda et pour quatre, je l'ai décidé sans retour! Parce qu'ils ontrejeté la loi de Yahvé et n'ont pas observé ses décrets, parce que leurs Mensonges les ont égarés, ceux que leurspères avaient suivis,
5 But I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.	5 j'enverrai le feu dans Juda, et il dévorera les palais de Jérusalem.
6 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes;	6 Ainsi parle Yahvé: Pour trois crimes d'Israël et pour quatre, je l'ai décidé sans retour! Parce qu'ilsvendent le juste à prix d'argent et le pauvre pour une paire de sandales;
7 That pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go in unto the same maid, to profane my holy name:	7 parce qu'ils écrasent la tête des faibles sur la poussière de la terre et qu'ils font dévier la route deshumbles; parce que fils et père vont à la même fille afin de profaner mon saint nom;
8 And they lay themselves down upon clothes laid to pledge by every altar, and they drink the wine of the condemned in the house of their god.	8 parce qu'ils s'étendent sur des vêtements pris en gage, à côté de tous les autels, et qu'ils boivent dansla maison de leur dieu le vin de ceux qui sont frappés d'amende.
9 Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.	9 Et moi, j'avais anéanti devant eux l'Amorite, lui dont la taille égalait celle des cèdres, lui qui était fortcomme les chênes! J'avais anéanti son fruit, en haut, et ses racines, en bas!
10 Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.	10 Et moi, je vous avais fait monter du pays d'Egypte, et pendant 40 ans, menés dans le désert, pour quevous possédiez le pays de l'Amorite!
11 And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites. Is it not even thus, O ye children of Israel? saith the LORD.	11 J'avais suscité parmi vos fils des prophètes, et parmi vos jeunes gens des nazirs! N'en est-il pas ainsi,enfants d'Israël? Oracle de Yahvé.
12 But ye gave the Nazarites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not.	12 Mais vous avez fait boire du vin aux nazirs, aux prophètes, vous avez donné cet ordre: "Neprophétisez pas!"
13 Behold, I am pressed under you, as a cart is pressed that is full of sheaves.	13 Eh bien! moi, je vais vous broyer sur place comme broie le chariot plein de gerbes;
14 Therefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty deliver himself:	14 la fuite manquera à l'homme agile, l'homme fort ne déploiera pas sa vigueur et le brave ne sauverapas sa vie;
15 Neither shall he stand that handleth the bow; and he that is swift of foot shall not deliver himself: neither shall he that rideth the horse deliver himself.	15 celui qui manie l'arc ne tiendra pas, l'homme aux pieds agiles n'échappera pas, celui qui monte àcheval ne sauvera pas sa vie,
16 And he that is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked in that day, saith the LORD.	16 et le plus courageux d'entre les braves s'enfuira nu, en ce jour-là, oracle de Yahvé.
