1 The words of Amos, who was among the herdman of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.	1 A tekoai pásztorok közül való Ámosz szavai, melyeket Izrael felől látott Uzijának, Júda királyának napjaiban és Jeroboámnak, Joás fiának, Izrael királyának napjaiban, két évvel a földrengés előtt.
2 And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.	2 Így szólt: »Bömböl az Úr Sionról, és hallatja szavát Jeruzsálemből; és elhervadnak a pásztorok ékes mezői, és kiszárad a Kármel teteje.«
3 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron:	3 Ezt mondja az Úr: »Damaszkusznak három, sőt négy gonosztette miatt nem fordítok el róla semmit sem: mert vasszekerekkel csépelték végig Gileádot.
4 But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.	4 Tüzet bocsátok Azaél házára, és megemészti Ben-Hadad palotáit;
5 I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.	5 összetöröm Damaszkusz zárát, és szétszórom a lakosságot a Bálvány-völgyről, és a jogar birtokosát a Gyönyörök házából, és Kírbe hurcolják Szíria népét« – mondja az Úr.
6 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom:	6 Ezt mondja az Úr: »Gázának három, sőt négy gonosztette miatt nem fordítok el róla semmit sem: mert egész fogolyseregeket hurcoltak el, hogy kiszolgáltassák őket Edomnak.
7 But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof:	7 Tüzet bocsátok Gáza falára, hogy eméssze meg várait;
8 And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord GOD.	8 szétszórom Asdód lakosságát, és a jogar birtokosát Askalonból, majd kezemet Akkaron ellen fordítom, és elvesznek a filiszteusok maradványai«, – mondja az Úr Isten.
9 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:	9 Ezt mondja az Úr: »Tírusznak három, sőt négy gonosztette miatt nem fordítok el róla semmit sem: mert egész fogolyseregeket szolgáltattak ki Edomnak, és nem gondoltak a testvéri szövetségre.
10 But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof.	10 Tüzet bocsátok Tírusz falára, hogy eméssze meg várait.«
11 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:	11 Ezt mondja az Úr: »Edomnak három, sőt négy gonosztette miatt nem fordítok el róla semmit sem: mert karddal üldözte testvérét és elfojtotta az iránta való irgalmat, és továbbra is haragot tartott és gyűlöletét megőrizte mindvégig.
12 But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.	12 Tüzet bocsátok Temánra, és megemészti Boszra várait.«
13 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:	13 Ezt mondja az Úr: »Ammon fiainak három, sőt négy gonosztette miatt nem fordítok el róla semmit sem: mert felhasította Gileádnak áldott állapotban levő asszonyait, hogy kiterjessze határait.
14 But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:	14 Tüzet gyújtok Rabba falán, hogy eméssze meg várait, amikor majd jajgatás lesz a háború napján, és fergeteg a vihar napján.
15 And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the LORD.	15 És fogságba jut királyuk, ő maga és vele fejedelmei« – mondja az Úr.
