Ezekiel 14

1 Then came certain of the elders of Israel unto me, and sat before me.	1 Algunos ancianos de Israel vinieron a mi casa y se sentaron ante mí.
2 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,	2 Entonces la palabra de Yahveh me fue dirigida en estos términos:
3 Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be inquired of at all by them?	3 Hijo de hombre, estos hombres han erigido sus basuras en su corazón, han puesto delante de su rostro la ocasión de sus culpas, ¿y voy a dejarme consultar por ellos?
4 Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols;	4 Habla, pues, y diles: Así dice el Señor Yahveh: A todo aquel de la casa de Israel que erija sus basuras en su corazón o que ponga delante de su rostro la ocasión de sus culpas, y luego se presente al profeta, yo mismo, Yahveh, le responderé, a causa de la multitud de sus basuras,
5 That I may take the house of Israel in their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols.	5 a fin de prender a la casa de Israel en su corazón, a aquellos que se han alejado de mí a causa de todas sus basuras.
6 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.	6 Por eso, di a la casa de Israel: Así dice el Señor Yahveh: Convertíos, apartaos de vuestras basuras, de todas vuestras abominaciones apartad vuestro rostro,
7 For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to a prophet to inquire of him concerning me; I the LORD will answer him by myself:	7 porque a todo hombre de la casa de Israel, o de los forasteros residentes en Israel, que se aleje de mí para erigir sus basuras en su corazón, que ponga delante de su rostro la ocasión de sus culpas, y se presente al profeta para consultarme, yo mismo, Yahveh, le responderé.
8 And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.	8 Volveré mi rostro contra ese hombre, haré de él ejemplo y proverbio, le extirparé de en medio de mi pueblo, y sabréis que yo soy Yahveh.
9 And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.	9 Y si el profeta se deja seducir y pronuncia una palabra, es que yo, Yahveh, he seducido a ese profeta; extenderé mi mano contra él y le exterminaré de en medio de mi pueblo Israel.
10 And they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity: the punishment of the prophet shall be even as the punishment of him that seeketh unto him;	10 Cargarán con el peso de sus culpas ambos: la culpa del profeta será como la del que le consulte.
11 That the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither be polluted any more with all their transgressions; but that they may be my people, and I may be their God, saith the Lord GOD.	11 Así, la casa de Israel no se desviará más lejos de mí ni seguirá manchándose con todas sus culpas. Ellos serán mi pueblo y yo seré su Dios, oráculo del Señor Yahveh.
12 The word of the LORD came again to me, saying,	12 La palabra de Yahveh me fue dirigida en estos términos:
13 Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:	13 Hijo de hombre, si un país peca contra mí cometiendo infidelidad, y yo extiendo mi mano contra él, destruyo su provisión de pan y envío contra él el hambre para extirpar de allí hombres y bestias,
14 Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.	14 y en ese país se hallan estos tres hombres, Noé, Danel y Job, ellos salvarán su vida por su justicia, oráculo del Señor Yahveh.
15 If I cause noisome beasts to pass through the land, and they spoil it, so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts:	15 Si yo suelto las bestias feroces contra ese país para privarle de sus hijos y convertirle en una desolación por donde nadie pase a causa de las bestias,
16 Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be desolate.	16 y en ese país se hallan esos tres hombres: por mi vida, oráculo del Señor Yahveh, que ni hijos ni hijas podrán salvar; sólo se salvarán a sí mismos, pero el país quedará convertido en desolación.
17 Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it:	17 O bien, si yo hago venir contra ese país la espada, si digo: «Pase la espada por este país», y extirpo de él hombres y bestias,
18 Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only shall be delivered themselves.	18 y esos tres hombres se hallan en ese país: por mi vida, oráculo del Señor Yahveh, que no podrán salvar ni hijos ni hijas; ellos solos se salvarán.
19 Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast:	19 O si envío la peste sobre ese país y derramo en sangre mi furor contra ellos, extirpando de él hombres y bestias,
20 Though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.	20 y en ese país se hallan Noé, Danel y Job: por mi vida, oráculo del Señor Yahveh, que ni hijos ni hijas podrán salvar; sólo se salvarán a sí mismos por su justicia.
21 For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?	21 Pues así dice el Señor Yahveh: Aun cuando yo mande contra Jerusalén mis cuatro terribles azotes: espada, hambre, bestias feroces y peste, para extirpar de ella hombres y bestias,
22 Yet, behold, therein shall be left a remnant that shall be brought forth, both sons and daughters: behold, they shall come forth unto you, and ye shall see their way and their doings: and ye shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought upon it.	22 he aquí que quedan en ella algunos supervivientes que han podido salir, hijos e hijas; y he aquí que salen hacia vosotros, para que veáis su conducta y sus obras y os consoléis de la desgracia que yo he acarreado sobre Jerusalén, de todo lo que he acarreado sobre ella.
23 And they shall comfort you, when ye see their ways and their doings: and ye shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, saith the Lord GOD.	23 Ellos os consolarán cuando veáis su conducta y sus obras, y sabréis que no sin motivo hice yo todo lo que hice en ella, oráculo del Señor Yahveh.
