1 LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.	1 Salmo di Davide. Quando fuggì davanti ad Assalonne suo figlio.
2 Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.	2 O Signore, quanto numerosi sono i miei avversari! quanti sono insorti contro di me,
3 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.	3 quanti sono quelli che dicono di me: "Non c'è salvezza per lui da parte di Dio!".
4 I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.	4 Ma tu, o Signore, sei uno scudo intorno a me; sei la mia gloria e in alto sollevi il mio capo.
5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.	5 Quando con la mia voce invocai il Signore, mi rispose dal santo suo monte.
6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.	6 Ecco, mi corico e mi addormento. Mi sveglio: sì, il Signore mi sostiene.
7 Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.	7 Io non temo un esercito di miriadi che si scagliano contro di me da ogni parte.
8 Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.	8 Sorgi, o Signore; salvami, o Dio. Colpisci sulla guancia tutti i miei nemici, manda in frantumi i denti degli empi.
	9 Del Signore è la salvezza. Sul tuo popolo scenda la tua benedizione.
