KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Ekkor nagy jel tűnt fel az égen: egy asszony, akinek öltözete a nap volt, lába alatt a hold, és a fején tizenkét csillagból álló korona.	1 Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman, robed with the sun, standing on the moon, and onher head a crown of twelve stars.
2 Mivel áldott állapotban volt, vajúdva, a szüléstől gyötrődve kiáltozott.	2 She was pregnant, and in labour, crying aloud in the pangs of childbirth.
3 Aztán egy másik jel tűnt fel az égen: íme, egy nagy, tűzvörös sárkány, amelynek hét feje és tíz szarva volt , és a hét fején hét királyi korona.	3 Then a second sign appeared in the sky: there was a huge red dragon with seven heads and tenhorns, and each of the seven heads crowned with a coronet.
4 A farka lesöpörte az ég csillagainak harmadrészét, és a földre sodorta őket . A sárkány a vajúdó asszony elé állt, hogy amint megszül, elnyelje fiát.	4 Its tail swept a third of the stars from the sky and hurled them to the ground, and the dragon stoppedin front of the woman as she was at the point of giving birth, so that it could eat the child as soon as it was born.
5 Az fiúgyermeket szült, aki vasvesszővel fogja kormányozni az összes nemzetet . Elragadták a fiát, és Isten trónjához vitték.	5 The woman was delivered of a boy, the son who was to rule al the nations with an iron sceptre, andthe child was taken straight up to God and to his throne,
6 Az asszony pedig a pusztaságba menekült, ahol Istentől elkészített helye volt, hogy ott táplálják őt ezerkétszázhatvan napig.	6 while the woman escaped into the desert, where God had prepared a place for her to be looked afterfor twelve hundred and sixty days.
7 Ekkor harc támadt az égben: Mihály és angyalai harcoltak a sárkánnyal . A sárkány és angyalai harcoltak,	7 And now war broke out in heaven, when Michael with his angels attacked the dragon. The dragonfought back with his angels,
8 de nem diadalmaskodtak, sem helyük nem volt többé az égben.	8 but they were defeated and driven out of heaven.
9 Ekkor letaszították a nagy sárkányt, az őskígyót, akit ördögnek és sátánnak hívnak, aki elcsábítja az egész világot. Letaszították a földre, és vele együtt angyalait is letaszították.	9 The great dragon, the primeval serpent, known as the devil or Satan, who had led all the world astray,was hurled down to the earth and his angels were hurled down with him.
10 Ekkor nagy hangot hallottam az égben, amely így szólt: »Most lett a mi Istenünké az üdvösség, az erő és a királyság, a hatalom pedig az ő Krisztusáé, mert letaszították testvéreink vádlóját, aki éjjel-nappal vádat emelt ellenük Istenünk előtt.	10 Then I heard a voice shout from heaven, 'Salvation and power and empire for ever have been wonby our God, and all authority for his Christ, now that the accuser, who accused our brothers day and night beforeour God, has been brought down.
11 Ők pedig legyőzték őt a Bárány vére és a tanúságtétel igéje által, s nem kímélték saját életüket mindhalálig.	11 They have triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word to which they bore witness,because even in the face of death they did not cling to life.
12 Örvendezzetek tehát, egek, és akik bennük laktok! Jaj a földnek és a tengernek, mert hozzátok szállt le az ördög nagy haraggal, s tudja, hogy kevés ideje van!«	12 So let the heavens rejoice and al who live there; but for you, earth and sea, disaster is coming --because the devil has gone down to you in a rage, knowing that he has little time left.'
13 Miután a sárkány látta, hogy letaszították a földre, üldözte az asszonyt, aki fiúgyermeket szült.	13 As soon as the dragon found himself hurled down to the earth, he sprang in pursuit of the woman,the mother of the male child,
14 Ekkor az asszony két nagy sasszárnyat kapott, hogy a pusztaságba repüljön a saját helyére, hogy ott táplálják egy ideig és időkig és fél ideig , távol a kígyótól.	14 but she was given a pair of the great eagle's wings to fly away from the serpent into the desert, to theplace where she was to be looked after for a time, two times and half a time.
15 Ekkor a kígyó akkora vízárat bocsátott a szájából az asszony után, mint egy folyó, hogy elsodortassa őt a folyóval.	15 So the serpent vomited water from his mouth, like a river, after the woman, to sweep her away in thecurrent,
16 De a föld megsegítette az asszonyt, megnyitotta száját, és elnyelte a folyót, amelyet a sárkány bocsátott ki a szájából.	16 but the earth came to her rescue; it opened its mouth and swal owed the river spewed from thedragon's mouth.
17 Ekkor a sárkány haragra gerjedt az asszony ellen, és elment, hogy harcra keljen az asszony többi ivadéka ellen, akik megtartják Isten parancsait, és akiknél Jézus tanúságtétele van.	17 Then the dragon was enraged with the woman and went away to make war on the rest of herchildren, who obey God's commandments and have in themselves the witness of Jesus.
18 Aztán megállt a tenger fövenyén.	18 And I took my stand on the seashore.
