1 És szólt a Seregek Ura:	1 The word of Yahweh Sabaoth came as fol ows:
2 »Így szól a Seregek Ura: Forró, féltékeny szeretettel szeretem én Siont, és nagy haragra gerjedtem miatta.	2 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: I have been burning with jealousy for Zion, with furious jealousy for hersake.
3 Így szól a Seregek Ura: Visszatérek én Sionhoz, és Jeruzsálemben akarok én lakni; és Jeruzsálemet majd az igazság városának nevezik, s a Seregek Urának hegyét szent hegynek.	3 Yahweh says this: I am coming back to Zion and shal live in the heart of Jerusalem. Jerusalem wil becal ed Faithful City and the mountain of Yahweh Sabaoth, the Holy Mountain.
4 Így szól a Seregek Ura: ülnek még öreg emberek és öreg asszonyok Jeruzsálem utcáin, és kinek-kinek bot lesz a kezében napjainak nagy száma miatt,	4 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Aged men and women once again wil sit in the squares of Jerusalem, eachwith a stick to lean on because of their great age.
5 és a város terei tele lesznek fiúkkal és leányokkal, akik játszadoznak majd terein.	5 And the squares of the city wil be full of boys and girls playing there.
6 Így szól a Seregek Ura: Ha ez ezekben a napokban nehéznek is látszik a megmaradt nép szemében, vajon az én szememben nehéz-e? – mondja a Seregek Ura.	6 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: If this seems a miracle to the remnant of this people (in those days), wil itseem one to me? declares Yahweh.
7 Így szól a Seregek Ura: Íme, én megmentem népemet a kelet földjéről, és a napnyugatnak földjéről.	7 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Look, I shal rescue my people from the countries of the east and from thecountries of the west.
8 És elhozom őket, hogy Jeruzsálemben lakjanak, és ők lesznek az én népem, én pedig az ő Istenük leszek, híven és igazán.	8 I shal bring them back to live in the heart of Jerusalem, and they will be my people and I shal be theirGod, faithful and just.
9 Így szól a Seregek Ura: Legyen erős a kezetek nektek, akik halljátok a próféták szájából e beszédeket ezekben a napokban, attól a naptól kezdve, amelyen a Seregek Ura házának alapkövét letették, hogy a templom felépüljön.	9 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Take heart, you who today hear these promises uttered by the prophetssince the day when the foundations of the Temple of Yahweh Sabaoth were laid, that the sanctuary wouldindeed be rebuilt.
10 Mert e napok előtt nem fizetődött ki az ember munkája. és nem fizetődött ki a barom munkája; aki bement vagy aki kiment, nem volt biztos a támadástól, és egymásra bocsátottam az összes embert, az egyiket a másikra.	10 For up to now, men were not paid their wages and nothing was paid for the animals either; and it hasnot been safe for anyone to come and go, because of the enemy, since I had set each one against everyoneelse.
11 Most azonban már nem cselekszem e megmaradt néppel úgy, mint a hajdani napokban – mondja a Seregek Ura –,	11 But from now on, I shal not treat the remnant of this people as I have treated them in time past --declares Yahweh Sabaoth.
12 hanem békés lesz a vetés, a szőlő megadja gyümölcsét, a föld megadja termését, s az egek megadják harmatukat; és e megmaradt népet mindezeknek birtokába juttatom.	12 Now they wil sow in peace; the vine will give its fruit, the soil wil give its produce and heaven will giveits dew. I shal bestow al these on the remnant of this people.
13 És az lesz akkor, hogy amint átok voltatok a nemzetek között, Júda háza és Izrael háza, olyan jólétet adok nektek, hogy áldássá lesztek. Ne féljetek, legyen erős a kezetek!	13 Just as once you were a curse among the nations, House of Judah and House of Israel, so now I shalsave you, and you wil be a blessing. Do not be afraid. Take heart!"
14 Mert így szól a Seregek Ura: Amint elhatároztam, hogy csapásokkal sújtalak titeket, amikor atyáitok haragra ingereltek engem – mondja az Úr –,	14 'For Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Just as I resolved to ill-treat you when your ancestors provoked me toanger and did not relent -- says Yahweh Sabaoth-
15 és nem irgalmaztam, éppúgy elhatároztam ezekben a napokban, hogy jót teszek Júda és Jeruzsálem házával. Ne féljetek!	15 so now I have changed my mind and intend to treat Jerusalem and the House of Judah well. Do not beafraid!
16 Ezeket kell azonban megtartanotok: Igazat mondjatok egymásnak, hűséggel és békével szolgáltassatok igazságot kapuitokban.	16 "These are the things that you must do. Speak the truth to one another; at your gates, administer fairjudgement conducive to peace;
17 És egyiktek se gondoljon szívében rosszat felebarátja ellen, se ne szeressétek a hamis esküt, mert mindez olyan dolog, amit gyűlölök – mondja az Úr.«	17 do not secretly plot evil against one another; do not love perjury; since I hate al this -- Yahwehdeclares." '
18 És a Seregek Ura így szólt hozzám:	18 The word of Yahweh Sabaoth was addressed to me as fol ows:
19 »Ezt mondja a Seregek Ura: A negyedik hónap böjtje, az ötödiknek böjtje, a hetediknek böjtje, s a tizediknek böjtje örömmé, vidámsággá és jeles ünneppé lesz Júda háza számára. Csak az igazságot és a békét szeressétek!	19 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "The fast of the fourth month, the fast of the fifth, the fast of the seventhand the fast of the tenth are to become glad, joyful, happy festivals for the House of Judah. So love truth andpeace!" '
20 Így szól a Seregek Ura: Még majd eljönnek a népek, számos város lakói!	20 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "In the future, peoples and citizens of many cities wil come;
21 Elmennek majd egymáshoz a lakosok és mondják: ‘Menjünk, esedezzünk az Úr előtt és keressük a Seregek Urát, hadd menjek én is!’	21 and citizens of one city wil go to the next and say: We must certainly go to entreat Yahweh's favourand seek out Yahweh Sabaoth; I am going myself.
22 És eljön számos nép és sok nemzet, hogy keresse a Seregek Urát Jeruzsálemben, és esedezzék az Úr előtt.	22 Yes, many peoples and great nations will seek out Yahweh Sabaoth in Jerusalem and entreatYahweh's favour."
23 Így szól a Seregek Ura: Azokban a napokban mindenféle nyelvű nemzetből tíz ember is megragadja és megfogja egy zsidó ember köntösének szélét, és mondja: Veletek megyünk, mert hallottuk, hogy veletek van az Úr!«	23 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "In those days, ten men from nations of every language will take a Jew bythe sleeve and say: We want to go with you, since we have learnt that God is with you." '
