Lévitique 21

JERUSALEM	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 Yahvé dit à Moïse: Parle aux prêtres, enfants d'Aaron; tu leur diras: Aucun d'eux ne se rendraimpur près du cadavre de l'un des siens,	1 And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto the priests the sons of Aaron, and say unto them, There shall none be defiled for the dead among his people:
2 sinon pour sa parenté la plus proche: mère, père, fils, fille, frère.	2 But for his kin, that is near unto him, that is, for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother,
3 Pour sa soeur vierge qui reste sa proche parente puisqu'elle n'a pas appartenu à un homme, ilpourra se rendre impur;	3 And for his sister a virgin, that is nigh unto him, which hath had no husband; for her may he be defiled.
4 pour une femme mariée parmi les siens, il ne se rendra pas impur: il se profanerait.	4 But he shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself.
5 Ils ne se feront pas de tonsure sur la tête, ils ne se raseront pas le bord de la barbe et ne se ferontpas d'incisions sur le corps.	5 They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.
6 Ils seront consacrés à leur Dieu et ne profaneront point le nom de leur Dieu: ce sont eux en effetqui apportent les mets de Yahvé, nourriture de leur Dieu, et ils doivent être en état de sainteté.	6 They shall be holy unto their God, and not profane the name of their God: for the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and the bread of their God, they do offer: therefore they shall be holy.
7 Ils ne prendront pas pour épouse une femme prostituée et profanée, ni une femme que son mari achassée, car le prêtre est consacré à son Dieu.	7 They shall not take a wife that is a whore, or profane; neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband: for he is holy unto his God.
8 Tu le traiteras comme un être saint car il offre la nourriture de ton Dieu. Il sera pour toi un êtresaint car je suis saint, moi Yahvé qui vous sanctifie.	8 Thou shalt sanctify him therefore; for he offereth the bread of thy God: he shall be holy unto thee: for I the LORD, which sanctify you, am holy.
9 Si la fille d'un homme qui est prêtre se profane en se prostituant, elle profane son père et doit êtrebrûlée au feu.	9 And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.
10 Quant au prêtre qui a la prééminence sur ses frères, lui sur la tête duquel est versée l'huiled'onction et qui reçoit l'investiture en revêtant les habits sacrés, il ne déliera pas ses cheveux, il ne déchirera passes vêtements,	10 And he that is the high priest among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil was poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not uncover his head, nor rend his clothes;
11 il ne viendra près du cadavre d'aucun mort et ne se rendra impur ni pour son père ni pour samère.	11 Neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother;
12 Il ne sortira pas du lieu saint, de manière à ne pas profaner le sanctuaire de son Dieu, car ilporte sur lui-même la consécration de l'huile d'onction de son Dieu. Je suis Yahvé.	12 Neither shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the LORD.
13 Il prendra pour épouse une femme encore vierge.	13 And he shall take a wife in her virginity.
14 La veuve, la femme répudiée ou profanée par la prostitution, il ne les prendra pas pour épouses;c'est seulement une vierge d'entre les siens qu'il prendra pour épouse:	14 A widow, or a divorced woman, or profane, or an harlot, these shall he not take: but he shall take a virgin of his own people to wife.
15 il ne profanera point sa descendance, car c'est moi, Yahvé, qui l'ai sanctifiée.	15 Neither shall he profane his seed among his people: for I the LORD do sanctify him.
16 Yahvé parla à Moïse et dit:	16 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
17 Parle à Aaron et dis-lui: Nul de tes descendants, à quelque génération que ce soit, nes'approchera pour offrir l'aliment de son Dieu s'il a une infirmité.	17 Speak unto Aaron, saying, Whosoever he be of thy seed in their generations that hath any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God.
18 Car aucun homme ne doit s'approcher s'il a une infirmité, que ce soit un aveugle ou un boiteux,un homme défiguré ou déformé,	18 For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous,
19 un homme dont le pied ou le bras soit fracturé,	19 Or a man that is brokenfooted, or brokenhanded,
20 un bossu, un rachitique, un homme atteint d'ophtalmie, de dartre ou de plaies purulentes, ou uneunuque.	20 Or crookbackt, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken;
21 Nul des descendants d'Aaron, le prêtre, ne pourra s'approcher pour offrir les mets de Yahvé s'ila une infirmité; il a une infirmité, il ne s'approchera pas pour offrir la nourriture de son Dieu.	21 No man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aaron the priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the LORD made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God.
22 Il pourra manger des aliments de son Dieu, choses très saintes et choses saintes,	22 He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy.
23 mais il ne viendra pas auprès du rideau et ne s'approchera pas de l'autel; il a une infirmité et nedoit pas profaner mes objets sacrés, car c'est moi, Yahvé, qui les ai sanctifiés.	23 Only he shall not go in unto the vail, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not my sanctuaries: for I the LORD do sanctify them.
24 Et Moïse le dit à Aaron, à ses fils et à tous les Israélites.	24 And Moses told it unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel.
