| 1 Escribe al Angel de la Iglesia de Efeso: «El que tiene en su mano derecha las siete estrellas y camina en medio de los siete candelabros de oro, afirma: | 1 "To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: 'The words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks among the seven golden lampstands. |
| 2 «Conozco tus obras, tus trabajos y tu constancia. Sé que no puedes tolerar a los perversos: has puesto a prueba a quienes usurpan el título de apóstoles, y comprobaste que son mentirosos. | 2 "'I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear evil men but have tested those who call themselves apostles but are not, and found them to be false; |
| 3 Sé que tienes constancia y que has sufrido mucho por mi Nombre sin desfallecer. | 3 I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my name's sake, and you have not grown weary. |
| 4 Pero debo reprocharte que hayas dejado enfriar el amor que tenías al comienzo. | 4 But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. |
| 5 Fíjate bien desde dónde has caído, conviértete y observa tu conducta anterior. Si no te arrepientes, vendré hacia ti y sacaré tu candelabro de su lugar preeminente. | 5 Remember then from what you have fallen, repent and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. |
| 6 Sin embargo, tienes esto a tu favor: que detestas la conducta de los nicolaítas, lo mismo que yo». | 6 Yet this you have, you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. |
| 7 El que pueda entender, que entienda lo que el Espíritu dice a las Iglesias: al vencedor, le daré de comer del árbol de la vida, que se encuentra en el Paraíso de Dios». | 7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who conquers I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.' |
| 8 Escribe al Angel de la Iglesia de Esmirna: «El Primero y el Ultimo, el que estuvo muerto y ha revivido, afirma: | 8 "And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: 'The words of the first and the last, who died and came to life. |
| 9 «Conozco tu tribulación y tu pobreza, aunque eres rica, así como también la maledicencia de los que se llaman judíos, y no son más que una sinagoga de Satanás. | 9 "'I know your tribulation and your poverty (but you are rich) and the slander of those who say that they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. |
| 10 No temas por lo que tendrás que padecer: mira que el demonio va a arrojar en la cárcel a algunos de ustedes para que sean puestos a prueba, y tendrán que sufrir durante diez días. Sé fiel hasta la muerte y te daré la corona de la vida». | 10 Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life. |
| 11 El que pueda entender, que entienda lo que el Espíritu dice a las Iglesias: la segunda muerte no dañará al vencedor. | 11 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who conquers shall not be hurt by the second death.' |
| 12 Escribe al Angel de la Iglesia de Pérgamo: «El que tiene la espada de doble filo afirma: | 12 "And to the angel of the church in Pergamum write: 'The words of him who has the sharp two-edged sword. |
| 13 «Sé que tú habitas donde está el trono de Satanás. A pesar de todo, permaneces fiel a mi Nombre y no has renegado de tu fe en mí, ni siquiera en la época de Antipas, mi testigo fiel, al que mataron en el lugar donde habita Satanás. | 13 "'I know where you dwell, where Satan's throne is; you hold fast my name and you did not deny my faith even in the days of Antipas my witness, my faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. |
| 14 Sin embargo, debo reprocharte algo, y es que tienes adictos a la doctrina de Balaam, el que enseñó a Balac cómo debía seducir a los israelitas para que se prostituyeran, comiendo los alimentos sacrificados a los ídolos. | 14 But I have a few things against you: you have some there who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, that they might eat food sacrificed to idols and practice immorality. |
| 15 Tienes además partidarios de la doctrina de los nicolaítas. | 15 So you also have some who hold the teaching of the Nicolaitans. |
| 16 Arrepiéntete, o iré en seguida para combatirlos con la espada de mi boca». | 16 Repent then. If not, I will come to you soon and war against them with the sword of my mouth. |
| 17 El que pueda entender, que entienda lo que el Espíritu dice a las Iglesias: al vencedor, le daré de comer el maná escondido, y también le daré una piedra blanca, en la que está escrito un nombre nuevo que nadie conoce fuera de aquel que lo recibe. | 17 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, with a new name written on the stone which no one knows except him who receives it.' |
| 18 Escribe al Angel de la Iglesia de Tiatira: «El Hijo de Dios, el que tiene los ojos como llamas de fuego y los pies semejantes al bronce fundido, afirma: | 18 "And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write: 'The words of the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and whose feet are like burnished bronze. |
| 19 «Conozco tus obras, tu amor, tu fe, tu servicio y tu constancia. Sé también que tus últimas obras son más abundantes que las primeras. | 19 "'I know your works, your love and faith and service and patient endurance, and that your latter works exceed the first. |
| 20 Pero, debo reprocharte que toleras a Jezabel, esa mujer que pretende ser profetisa, la que engaña a todos mis servidores, y les enseña a prostituirse comiendo los alimentos sacrificados a los ídolos. | 20 But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and beguiling my servants to practice immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols. |
| 21 Yo le he dado tiempo suficiente para arrepentirse, pero ella no quiere dejar de fornicar. | 21 I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her immorality. |
| 22 Por eso, la arrojaré en un lecho de dolor, y someteré a sus compañeros de adulterio a una prueba terrible, si no se arrepienten de sus obras, | 22 Behold, I will throw her on a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her I will throw into great tribulation, unless they repent of her doings; |
| 23 y haré morir a sus hijos. Así sabrán todas las Iglesias que yo conozco íntimamente los sentimientos y las intenciones. Y yo retribuiré a cada uno según sus obras. | 23 and I will strike her children dead. And all the churches shall know that I am he who searches mind and heart, and I will give to each of you as your works deserve. |
| 24 En cuanto a ustedes, los demás de Tiatira, los que no comparten esta doctrina ni conocen "los secretos de Satanás" –como dicen ellos– no les impondré nada nuevo, | 24 But to the rest of you in Thyatira, who do not hold this teaching, who have not learned what some call the deep things of Satan, to you I say, I do not lay upon you any other burden; |
| 25 excepto que conserven firmemente lo que ya poseen, hasta que yo vuelva. | 25 only hold fast what you have, until I come. |
| 26 Al vencedor, al que permanezca fiel hasta el fin, le daré autoridad sobre las naciones. | 26 He who conquers and who keeps my works until the end, I will give him power over the nations, |
| 27 El las regirá con un cetro de hierro y las destrozará como a un vaso de arcilla, | 27 and he shall rule them with a rod of iron, as when earthen pots are broken in pieces, even as I myself have received power from my Father; |
| 28 con el mismo poder que yo recibí del Padre; y también le daré la Estrella de la mañana». | 28 and I will give him the morning star. |
| 29 El que pueda entender, que entienda lo que el Espíritu dice a las Iglesias» | 29 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.' |
