| 6 Y estamos dispuestos a castigar cualquier desobediencia, una vez que ustedes lleguen a obedecer perfectamente. | 6 being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete. |
| 7 Acepten las cosas como son. El que hace alarde de ser de Cristo, reconozca que también lo somos nosotros, | 7 Look at what is before your eyes. If any one is confident that he is Christs, let him remind himself that as he is Christs, so are we. |

| 9 Les digo esto para que no piensen que pretendo atemorizarlos con mis cartas. | 9 I would not seem to be frightening you with letters. |
| 10 Porque algunos dicen: «Sus cartas son enérgicas y severas; en cambio, su presencia resulta insignificante y su palabra despreciable». | 10 For they say, "His letters are weighty and strong, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech of no account." |

| 15 Nosotros no nos gloriamos más allá de lo que corresponde, aprovechándonos de los trabajos ajenos. Al contrario, abrigamos la esperanza de que, al crecer la fe de ustedes, se amplíe nuestro campo de acción, siempre de acuerdo con nuestra norma de conducta. | 15 We do not boast beyond limit, in other men's labors; but our hope is that as your faith increases, our field among you may be greatly enlarged, |
| 16 Así podremos llevar la Buena Noticia a regiones más alejadas todavía, sin entrar en campo ajeno ni gloriarnos en el trabajo de otros. | 16 so that we may preach the gospel in lands beyond you, without boasting of work already done in another's field. |
| 17 El que se gloría, que se gloríe en el Señor. | 17 "Let him who boasts, boast of the Lord." |
| 18 Porque el que vale no es el que se recomienda a sí mismo, sino aquel a quien Dios recomienda. | 18 For it is not the man who commends himself that is accepted, but the man whom the Lord commends. |
