EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 El Señor dijo a Aarón: Tú, tus hijos y tu casa paterna, cargarán con las faltas contra el Santuario; pero tú y tus hijos solamente cargarán con las faltas contra el ejercicio del sacerdocio.	1 And the Lord said to Aaron: Thou, and thy sons, and thy father's house with thee shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary: and thou and thy sons with thee shall bear the sins of your priesthood.
2 También asociarás a tus hermanos de la tribu de Leví –tu tribu paterna– para que colaboren contigo y te sirvan como ministros, a ti y a tus hijos, en la Carpa del Testimonio.	2 And take with thee thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, and the sceptre of thy father, and let them be ready in hand, and minister to thee: but thou and thy sons shall minister in the tabernacle of the testimony.
3 Ellos desempeñarán tareas para ti y para toda la Carpa, pero no tendrán ningún contacto con los utensilios del Santuario o con el altar, no sea que mueran ellos y ustedes.	3 And the Levites shall watch to do thy commands, and about all the works of the tabernacle: only they shall not come nigh the vessels of the sanctuary nor the altar, lest both they die, and you also perish with them.
4 Deberán colaborar contigo y ejecutar las tareas de la Carpa del Encuentro, prestando toda clase de servicios. Ningún extraño se acercará a ustedes	4 But let them be with thee, and watch in the charge of the tabernacle, and in all the ceremonies thereof. A stranger shall not join himself with you.
5 mientras realizan las funciones del Santuario o del altar, para que la ira del Señor no se vuelva a desatar contra los israelitas.	5 Watch ye in the charge of the sanctuary, and in the ministry of the altar: lest indignation rise upon the children of Israel.
6 Yo elijo a tus hermanos –los descendientes de Leví– entre todos los israelitas: ellos han sido puestos a disposición de ustedes, como dedicados al Señor, para prestar servicios en la Carpa del Encuentro.	6 I have given you your brethren the Levites from among the children of Israel, and have delivered them for a gift to the Lord, to serve in the ministries of the tabernacle.
7 Tú y tus hijos, en cambio, ejercerán las funciones sacerdotales en todo lo concerniente al altar y a lo que está detrás del velo. Yo hago del sacerdocio de ustedes un servicio de dedicación: el extraño que se acerque será castigado con la muerte.	7 But thou and thy sons look ye to the priesthood: and all things that pertain to the service of the altar, and that are within the veil, shall be executed by the priests. If any stranger shall approach, he shall be slain.
8 El Señor dijo a Aarón: Yo te encomiendo el cuidado de mis ofrendas, es decir, de los dones sagrados de los israelitas. Te entrego todo eso, a ti y a tus hijos, como algo que les es debido, como un derecho irrevocable.	8 And the Lord said to Aaron: Behold I have given thee the charge of my firstfruits. All things that are sanctified by the children of Israel, I have delivered to thee and to thy sons for the priestly office, by everlasting ordinances.
9 Esto es lo que te corresponde de los sacrificios más santos, de las ofrendas quemadas. Todas las ofrendas que me presentan como sacrificios santísimos, a saber, todas las oblaciones, los sacrificios por el pecado y los sacrificios de reparación, serán para ti y para tus hijos.	9 These therefore shalt thou take of the things that are sanctified, and are offered to the Lord. Every offering, and sacrifice, and whatsoever is rendered to me for sin and for trespass, and becometh holy of holies, shall be for thee and thy sons.
10 Tú participarás de los dones más santos. Sólo los varones podrán comerlos y deberás tratarlos como algo sagrado.	10 Thou shalt eat it in the sanctuary: the males only shall eat thereof, because it is a consecrated thing to thee.
11 También será para ti lo que se toma de las ofrendas de los israelitas para ser ofrecido con el gesto de presentación. Yo te lo doy, a ti, a tus hijos y a tus hijas, como derecho irrevocable: podrán comerlo todos los miembros de tu casa que sean puros.	11 But the firstfruits, which the children of Israel shall vow and offer, I have given to thee, and to thy sons, and to thy daughters, by a perpetual law. He that is clean in thy house, shall eat them.
12 Yo te doy lo mejor del aceite, del vino y del trigo, o sea las partes escogidas que los israelitas presentan al Señor.	12 All the best of the oil, and of the wine, and of the corn, whatsoever firstfruits they offer to the Lord, I have given them to thee.
13 Las primicias de los productos de la tierra, que ellos ofrecen al Señor, serán para ti: podrán comerlas todos los miembros de tu casa que sean puros.	13 All the firstripe of the fruits, that the ground bringeth forth, and which are brought to the Lord, shall be for thy use: he that is clean in thy house, shall eat them.
14 Todo lo que ha sido consagrado al exterminio total en Israel será para ti.	14 Every thing that the children of Israel shall give by vow, shall be thine.
15 También lo serán los primogénitos, tanto de hombres como de animales, ofrecidos al Señor. Pero harás rescatar los primogénitos de los hombres y los primogénitos de los animales impuros.	15 Whatsoever is firstborn of all flesh, which they offer to the Lord, whether it be of men, or of beasts, shall belong to thee: only for the firstborn of man thou shalt take a price, and every beast that is unclean thou shalt cause to be redeemed,
16 Los harás rescatar dentro del mes de su nacimiento, tomando como precio por el rescate cinco siclos –en siclos de Santuario– que equivalen a veinte gueras.	16 And the redemption of it shall be after one month, for five sicles of silver, by the weight of the sanctuary. A sicle hath twenty obols.
17 Los primogénitos del ganado mayor y menor no podrán ser rescatados porque están consagrados. Por eso, derramarás su sangre contra el altar y harás arder su grasa como ofrenda que se quema con aroma agradable al Señor.	17 But the firstling of a cow and of a sheep and of a goat thou shalt not cause to be redeemed, because they are sanctified to the Lord. Their blood only thou shalt pour upon the altar, and their fat thou shalt burn for a most sweet odour to the Lord.
18 La carne, en cambio, será para ti, lo mismo que la ofrenda de presentación y la pata derecha.	18 But the flesh shall fall to thy use, as the consecrated breast, and the right shoulder shall be thine.
19 Yo te doy todas las ofrendas que los israelitas ponen aparte para el Señor. Te las doy a ti, a tus hijos y a tus hijas, como derecho irrevocable. Esta será una alianza de sal –una alianza eterna– para ti y tu descendencia, delante del Señor.	19 All the firstfruits of the sanctuary which the children of Israel offer to the Lord, I have given to thee and to thy sons and daughters, by a perpetual ordinance. It is a covenant of salt for ever before the Lord, to thee and to thy sons.
20 Y el Señor dijo a Aarón: Tú no recibirás una herencia en el territorio de los israelitas ni tendrás una parte entre ellos: yo soy tu parte y tu herencia.	20 And the Lord said to Aaron: You shall possess nothing in their land, neither shall you have a portion among them: I am thy portion and inheritance in the midst of the children of Israel.
21 Yo doy como herencia a los levitas todos los diezmos de Israel, a cambio de los servicios que prestan en la Carpa del Encuentro.	21 And I have given to the sons of Levi all the tithes of Israel for a possession for the ministry wherewith they serve me in the tabernacle of the covenant:
22 De ahora en adelante, los israelitas no se acercarán a la Carpa del Encuentro, porque cargarían con un pecado y morirían.	22 That the children of Israel may not approach any more to the tabernacle, nor commit deadly sin,
23 Sólo los levitas prestarán servicios en ella y cargarán con sus propias faltas. Este es un decreto válido para siempre, a lo largo de las generaciones. Pero no tendrán una herencia entre los israelitas,	23 But only the sons of Levi may serve me in the tabernacle, and bear the sins of the people. It shall be an everlasting ordinance in your generations. They shall not possess any other thing,
24 porque yo les doy como herencia los diezmos que los israelitas pondrán aparte como una ofrenda para el Señor. Por eso dije, refiriéndome a ellos, que no tendrán una herencia entre los israelitas.	24 But be content with the oblation or tithes, which I have separated for their uses and necessities.
25 El Señor dijo a Moisés:	25 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
26 Habla en estos términos a los levitas: Cuando ustedes reciban de los israelitas los diezmos que yo les asigné como herencia, reservarán la décima parte como una ofrenda para el Señor:	26 Command the Levites, and declare unto them: When you shall receive of the children of Israel the tithes, which I have given you, offer the firstfruits of them to the Lord, that is to say, the tenth part of the tenth:
27 esto les será tenido en cuenta a título de contribución. Como se hace con el trigo de la era y el mosto del lagar,	27 That it may be reckoned to you as an oblation of firstfruits, as well of the barnfloors as of the winepresses:
28 también ustedes pondrán aparte para el Señor una ofrenda tomada de los diezmos que reciban de los israelitas, y se la entregarán al sacerdote Aarón, en calidad de ofrenda reservada al Señor.	28 And of all the things of which you receive tithes, offer the firstfruits to the Lord, and give them to Aaron the priest.
29 De los dones que reciban, reservarán las ofrendas debidas al Señor: la mejor porción de cada cosa, o sea, la parte que debe ser consagrada.	29 All the things that you shall offer of the tithes, and shall separate for the gifts of the Lord, shall be the best and choicest things.
30 Diles también: Una vez que hayan reservado la mejor parte –que les será tenida en cuenta como el trigo de la era y el mosto del lagar–	30 And thou shalt say to them: If you offer all the goodly and the better things of the tithes, it shall be reckoned to you as if you had given the firstfruits of the barnfloor and the winepress:
31 ustedes y sus familias podrán comerla en cualquier lugar, porque esa es su recompensa por los servicios que prestan en la Carpa del Encuentro.	31 And you shall eat them in all your places, both you and your families: because it is your reward for the ministry, wherewith you serve in the tabernacle of the testimony.
32 Así, si ustedes reservan la mejor parte, no cargarán con un pecado, no profanarán los dones sagrados de los israelitas ni morirán.	32 And you shall not sin in this point, by reserving the choicest and fat things to yourselves, lest you profane the oblations of the children of Israel, and die.
