| 1 Escuchen esto, casa de Jacob, ustedes, que se llaman con el nombre de Israel y salieron de las aguas de Judá; ustedes, que juran por el nombre del Señor e invocan al Dios de Israel, pero sin lealtad ni justicia. | 1 Hear this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and who came forth from the loins of Judah; who swear by the name of the LORD, and confess the God of Israel, but not in truth or right. |
| 2 –Sin embargo, ellos se llaman «Los de la Ciudad Santa» y se apoyan en el Dios de Israel, cuyo nombre es Señor de los ejércitos – | 2 For they call themselves after the holy city, and stay themselves on the God of Israel; the LORD of hosts is his name. |
| 3 Yo anuncié de antemano las cosas pasadas, salieron de mi boca, yo las predije; obré súbitamente, y ellas sucedieron. | 3 "The former things I declared of old, they went forth from my mouth and I made them known; then suddenly I did them and they came to pass. |
| 4 Yo sabía que tú eres obstinado, que tu cerviz es una barra de hierro y que tu frente es de bronce. | 4 Because I know that you are obstinate, and your neck is an iron sinew and your forehead brass, |
| 5 Por eso te las anuncié de antemano, te las predije antes que sucedieran, para que no dijeras: «Las hizo mi ídolo; las ordenó mi estatua, mi imagen fundida». | 5 I declared them to you from of old, before they came to pass I announced them to you, lest you should say, 'My idol did them, my graven image and my molten image commanded them.' |
| 6 Tú has oído, has visto todo esto, y ustedes ¿no lo van a anunciar? Desde ahora te hago oír cosas nuevas, guardadas en secreto, y que no conocías. | 6 "You have heard; now see all this; and will you not declare it? From this time forth I make you hear new things, hidden things which you have not known. |
| 7 Ahora son creadas, no desde hace tiempo; antes de hoy, nunca las habías oído para que no dijeras: «¡Ya las sabía!». | 7 They are created now, not long ago; before today you have never heard of them, lest you should say, 'Behold, I knew them.' |
| 8 No, tú no habías oído ni sabías nada, ni tus oídos fueron abiertos de antemano, porque yo sé que no haces más que traicionar y que te llaman «Rebelde desde el seno materno». | 8 You have never heard, you have never known, from of old your ear has not been opened. For I knew that you would deal very treacherously, and that from birth you were called a rebel. |
| 9 Por amor a mi Nombre, modero mi ira, por mi honor, la reprimo en favor de ti, a fin de no exterminarte. | 9 "For my name's sake I defer my anger, for the sake of my praise I restrain it for you, that I may not cut you off. |
| 10 Yo te purifiqué, y no por dinero, te probé en el crisol de la aflicción: | 10 Behold, I have refined you, but not like silver; I have tried you in the furnace of affliction. |
| 11 lo hice por mí, sólo por mí, porque ¿cómo iba a ser profanado mi Nombre? Y mi gloria no la cederé a ningún otro. | 11 For my own sake, for my own sake, I do it, for how should my name be profaned? My glory I will not give to another. |
| 12 Escúchame, Jacob, tú, Israel, a quien yo llamé: Yo soy, yo soy el Primero y también soy el Ultimo. | 12 "Hearken to me, O Jacob, and Israel, whom I called! I am He, I am the first, and I am the last. |
| 13 Sí, mi mano fundó la tierra, mi mano derecha desplegó los cielos: apenas los llamo ellos se presentan todos juntos. | 13 My hand laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand spread out the heavens; when I call to them, they stand forth together. |
| 14 Reúnanse todos y escuchen: ¿Quién entre ustedes anunció estas cosas? Aquel a quien ama el Señor cumplirá su voluntad sobre Babilonia y sobre la raza de los caldeos. | 14 "Assemble, all of you, and hear! Who among them has declared these things? The LORD loves him; he shall perform his purpose on Babylon, and his arm shall be against the Chaldeans. |
| 15 Yo, sólo yo, hablé y lo llamé, yo lo conduje y lo hice triunfar. | 15 I, even I, have spoken and called him, I have brought him, and he will prosper in his way. |
| 16 ¡Acérquense a mí, escuchen esto: Desde el comienzo, nunca hablé en lo secreto, desde que esto sucede, yo estoy allí! –Ahora me han enviado el Señor y su espíritu – | 16 Draw near to me, hear this: from the beginning I have not spoken in secret, from the time it came to be I have been there." And now the Lord GOD has sent me and his Spirit. |
| 17 Así habla el Señor, tu redentor, el Santo de Israel: Yo soy el Señor, tu Dios, el que te instruye para tu provecho, el que te guía por el camino que debes seguir. | 17 Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go. |
| 18 ¡Si tú hubieras atendido a mis mandamientos, tu prosperidad sería como un río y tu justicia, como las olas del mar! | 18 O that you had hearkened to my commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea; |
| 19 Como la arena sería tu descendencia, como los granos de arena, el fruto de tus entrañas; tu nombre no habría sido extirpado ni borrado de mi presencia. Invitación a salir de Babilonia | 19 your offspring would have been like the sand, and your descendants like its grains; their name would never be cut off or destroyed from before me." |
| 20 ¡Salgan de Babilonia, huyan de los caldeos! ¡Con gritos de alegría anuncien, hagan oír estas cosas! ¡Divúlguenlas hasta los extremos de la tierra! Digan: «El Señor ha redimido a su servidor Jacob». | 20 Go forth from Babylon, flee from Chaldea, declare this with a shout of joy, proclaim it, send it forth to the end of the earth; say, "The LORD has redeemed his servant Jacob!" |
| 21 Ellos no sufrieron sed, cuando los llevaba por los desiertos: él hizo brotar parea ellos agua de la roca, partió la roca y fluyeron las aguas. | 21 They thirsted not when he led them through the deserts; he made water flow for them from the rock; he cleft the rock and the water gushed out. |
| 22 Pero no hay paz para los impíos, dice el Señor. | 22 "There is no peace," says the LORD, "for the wicked." |
