Epistola di Santo Paulo alli Filippensi 4

1 Adunque, carissimi miei e desideratissimi, li quali siete mio gaudio e la mia corona, così [state] nel Signore, carissimi.	1 So then, my brothers and dear friends whom I miss so much, my joy and my crown, hold firm in theLord, dear friends.
2 E priego Evodia e Sintiche, che quello medesimo sentano nel Signore.	2 I urge Euodia, and I urge Syntyche to come to agreement with each other in the Lord;
3 Ed eziandio priego te, germano uguale, che tu aiuti quelli che hanno lavorato nell' evangelio con Clemente e con tutti gli altri miei aiutatori, li nomi de' quali son scritti nel libro della vita.	3 and I ask you, Syzygus, real y to be a 'partner' and help them. These women have struggled hard for thegospel with me, along with Clement and al my other fel ow-workers, whose names are written in the book of life.
4 Gaudete sempre nel Signore; e ancora dico: gaudete.	4 Always be joyful, then, in the Lord; I repeat, be joyful.
5 La vostra temperanza sia manifesta a tutti gli uomini; (chè) il Signore sì è appresso.	5 Let your good sense be obvious to everybody. The Lord is near.
6 Non siate solleciti d' alcuna cosa; ma le vostre (addomandagioni e) petizioni siano fatte manifeste a Dio con orazione e con umiltà e rendimento di grazie.	6 Never worry about anything; but tel God all your desires of every kind in prayer and petition shotthrough with gratitude,
7 E la grazia di Dio, la qual riempie ogni sentimento, conservi li vostri cuori, e li vostri intendimenti in Iesù Cristo (nostro Signore).	7 and the peace of God which is beyond our understanding wil guard your hearts and your thoughts inChrist Jesus.
8 Da quinci inanzi, fratelli, tutte quelle cose che son vere, tutte quelle cose che son caste, e quelle che son giuste, e quelle che son sante, e quelle che son amabili, e quelle che son di buona fama, e che appartengono a lode di castigamento, quelle pensate di fare.	8 Finally, brothers, let your minds be fil ed with everything that is true, everything that is honourable,everything that is upright and pure, everything that we love and admire -- with whatever is good andpraiseworthy.
9 E tutte quelle cose che avete imparate da me e ricevute e intese, e quelle che vedeste in me, quelle operate (e fate); e Dio di pace sarà con voi.	9 Keep doing everything you learnt from me and were told by me and have heard or seen me doing. Thenthe God of peace will be with you.
10 Allegrato sono fortemente nel Signore, che alla perfine alquante volte vi ricordaste di me, e sentiste per me sì come sentivate; ma voi eravate occupati (e infaccendati).	10 As for me, I am full of joy in the Lord, now that at last your consideration for me has blossomed again;though I recognise that you really did have consideration before, but had no opportunity to show it.
11 E questo non dico come per povertà; io ho imparato in quelle cose che son sufficiente (cioè io ho impreso di fare con poco).	11 I do not say this because I have lacked anything; I have learnt to manage with whatever I have.
12 E sappomi umiliarmi, abbondare e sostenere povertà.	12 I know how to live modestly, and I know how to live luxuriously too: in every way now I have masteredthe secret of al conditions: ful stomach and empty stomach, plenty and poverty.
13 Tutte le cose posso in colui che mi conforta.	13 There is nothing I cannot do in the One who strengthens me.
14 Veramente voi bene faceste, che partecipaste alle mie tribulazioni.	14 Al the same, it was good of you to share with me in my hardships.
15 Ma voi, Filippensi, sapete che nel cominciamento (della predicazione) dell' evangelio, quando mi partii di Macedonia, niuna Chiesa sì comunicò in me in dare ovver in ricevere, se non voi solamente.	15 In the early days of the gospel, as you of Philippi wel know, when I left Macedonia, no church otherthan yourselves made common account with me in the matter of expenditure and receipts. You were the onlyones;
16 E in Tessalonica una volta e due mandaste a me il bisogno.	16 and what is more, you have twice sent me what I needed in Thessalonica.
17 Questo non dico, ch' io richieda donamento, ma ricoglio frutto abbondevole.	17 It is not the gift that I value most; what I value is the interest that is mounting up in your account.
18 Ma (fratelli carissimi, per la vostra orazione) io abbo tutte le cose, e abbondo e son ripieno; ricevetti da Epafrodito quelle cose che mi mandaste, secondo che odore di soavità, e sì come ostia accettevole e piacevole a Dio.	18 I have al that I need and more: I am ful y provided, now that I have received from Epaphroditus theoffering that you sent, a pleasing smel , the sacrifice which is acceptable and pleasing to God.
19 Il mio Signore Dio riempia tutto il vostro desiderio in gloria, secondo le sue ricchezze, in Iesù Cristo.	19 And my God will fulfil al your needs out of the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
20 E a Dio, padre nostro, sia gloria IN SECULA SECULORUM. Amen.	20 And so glory be to God our Father, for ever and ever. Amen.
21 Salutate ogni santo in Cristo Salvatore.	21 My greetings to every one of God's holy people in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me sendyou their greetings.
22 Salutano voi tutti li santi, e specialmente quelli che son della casa di Cesare; salutanvi tutti li fratelli che sono meco.	22 Al God's holy people send you their greetings, especially those of Caesar's household.
23 La grazia del nostro Signore Iesù Cristo sia col vostro spirito. Amen.	23 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
