1 Così ci tenga l' uomo, come servi di Cristo, secondo che dispensatori delli servizii di Dio.	1 Accordingly, let man consider us to be ministers of Christ and attendants of the mysteries of God.
2 E qui già si cerca, intra' dispensatori, se [si] trovarà alcuno che sia fedele (e leale).	2 Here and now, it is required of attendants that each one be found to be faithful.
3 A me è piccola cosa, o che io sia giudicato da voi, ovver da alcuno; chè io medesimo non mi giudico.	3 But as for me, it is such a small thing to be judged by you, or by the age of mankind. And neither do I judge myself.
4 Imperò che la coscienza non mi riprende d'alcuna cosa; e per tutto questo non mi giustifico; ma quelli che mi giudica, sì è il Signore.	4 For I have nothing on my conscience. But I am not justified by this. For the Lord is the One who judges me.
5 Adunque non giudicate inanzi tempo, insino a tanto che venga il Signore; il qual alluminerà le cose nascoste delle tenebre, e manifesterà li consigli del cuore; e allora sarà lodato ciascuno da Dio.	5 And so, do not choose to judge before the time, until the Lord returns. He will illuminate the hidden things of the darkness, and he will make manifest the decisions of hearts. And then each one shall have praise from God.
6 E queste cose, fratelli miei, transfigurai in me e Apollo per voi; perchè voi imprendiate in noi, che sopra quello ch' è scritto, l'uno incontra l'altro non si levi per l'altro.	6 And so, brothers, I have presented these things in myself and in Apollo, for your sakes, so that you may learn, through us, that no one should be inflated against one person and for another, not beyond what has been written.
7 E chi ti discerne? e che hai tu, che tu non abbi ricevuto? e se hai ricevuto d' altrui, perchè ti glorifichi, come se tu non avessi ricevuto?	7 For what distinguishes you from another? And what do you have that you have not received? But if you have received it, why do you glory, as if you had not received it?
8 Ma già siete satolli, già siete ricchi e senza noi regnate; e volesse Dio, che voi regnaste, e noi regnassimo con esso voi!	8 So, now you have been filled, and now you have been made wealthy, as if to reign without us? But I wish that you would reign, so that we, too, might reign with you!
9 Pensomi (e credomi), che Dio dimostrò noi apostoli, sì come destinati alla morte; imperò che siamo fatti in questo mondo spettacolo alli angeli e alli uomini.	9 For I think that God has presented us as the last Apostles, as those destined for death. For we have been made into a spectacle for the world, and for Angels, and for men.
10 Noi siamo stolti per Cristo, e voi siete savii in Cristo; noi siamo infermi, e voi siete forti; voi siete nobili (e gentili), e noi siamo di vile schiatta.	10 So we are fools because of Christ, but you are discerning in Christ? We are weak, but you are strong? You are noble, but we are ignoble?
11 E insino a quest' ora avemo fame e sete, e siamo nudi e schiaffeggiati (e percossi), e non stiamo in luogo,	11 Even to this very hour, we hunger and thirst, and we are naked and repeatedly beaten, and we are unsteady.
12 e lavoriamo con le nostre mani; siamo maledetti, e noi benediciamo (altrui); patiamo persecuzione, e sosteniamola;	12 And we labor, working with our own hands. We are slandered, and so we bless. We suffer and endure persecution.
13 siamo biastemati, e noi preghiamo (per loro); e siamo fatti secondo che spazzatura di questo mondo, e sì come cosa perita insino a qui.	13 We are cursed, and so we pray. We have become like the refuse of this world, like the reside of everything, even until now.
14 E queste cose non scrivo a voi per vituperarvi; ma ammoniscovi secondo che carissimi miei figliuoli.	14 I am not writing these things in order to confound you, but in order to admonish you, as my dearest sons.
15 Chè se voi aveste dieci milia (confortatori e) ammaestratori in Cristo, ma non molti padri dovete avere; chè io v' ingenerai in Cristo per la predicazione dell' evangelio.	15 For you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, but not so many fathers. For in Christ Jesus, through the Gospel, I have begotten you.
16 Adunque pregovi (fratelli) che (voi andiate per quella via ch' io vi mostrai, e che) siate miei seguitatori. ...	16 Therefore, I beg you, be imitators of me, just as I am of Christ.
17 Imperò mandai a voi Timoteo, il qual è carissimo mio figliuolo e fedele nel Signore, perchè egli v' (ammaestri e) insegni le mie vie, le quali sono in Cristo, secondo che io ammaestro in ogni (parte e ogni) Chiesa.	17 For this reason, I have sent you Timothy, who is my dearest son, and who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my ways, which are in Christ Jesus, just as I teach everywhere, in every church.
18 Ma alquanti ne sono enfiati, sì come io non dovessi venire più a voi.	18 Certain persons have become inflated in thinking that I would not return to you.
19 Ma io venerò presto a voi, se il Signore vorrà; e vorrò conoscere la (bontà e la) virtù di coloro che son enfiati (e levati), e non le parole.	19 But I will return to you soon, if the Lord is willing. And I will consider, not the words of those who are inflated, but the virtue.
20 Chè il regno di Dio non è in parole, ma è in virtù.	20 For the kingdom of God is not in words, but in virtue.
21 Che volete? che venga a voi colla verga (per battere), ovver con carità e col spirito di mansuetudine?	21 What would you prefer? Should I return to you with a rod, or with charity and a spirit of meekness?
