1 Questi sono li detti di Amos (profeta), il quale fu di Tecue, e fue tra' pastori; i quali detti egli vide (e profetò) sopra Israel nel tempo d' Ozia, re di Giuda, e nel tempo di Ieroboam, figliuolo che fu di Ioas, re d'Israel, inanzi due anni che fusse lo terremoto.	1 The words of Amos, who was among the herdman of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
2 E disse così: lo Signore ruggirà di Sion, e di Ierusalem (metterà fuori e) darà la sua voce; e le belle cose de' pastori feciono lo loro pianto, e la sommità (cioè la cima) del (monte di) Carmelo si seccòe.	2 And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.
3 E questo dice lo Signore: sopra le tre fellonie di Damasco, e per altre quattro fellonie (che sono fatte) non lo convertirò; però che guastarono Galaad con li carri del ferro.	3 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron:
4 E metterò fuoco nella casa di Azael, e divorerà le case di Benadab.	4 But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.
5 E spezzerò lo catenaccio di Damasco, e dispergerò colui che abita nel campo dello idolo, ? colui che tiene la verga regale (cioè la signoria) della casa del diletto carnale e della lussuria; e sarà riportato lo popolo di Siria in Cirene, così dice lo Signore Iddio.	5 I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.
6 E questo dice lo Signore Iddio: sopra le tre fellonie le quali hae fatte Gaza (cioè una terra) e sulle quattro io non la convertirò; però che hanno traportato e compiuto la prigionia, per richiuderla in Idumea.	6 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom:
7 E metterò lo fuoco nel muro di Gaza, e divorerà le sue case.	7 But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof:
8 E dispergerò li abitatori di Azoto (cioè una terra, ovvero contrada), e chiunque terrà la signoria di Ascalone (cioè una contrada); e menerò la mia mano sopra Accaron, e periranno li rimanenti dei Filistei, così dice lo Signore Iddio.	8 And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord GOD.
9 E questo dice anche lo Signore Iddio: sopra le tre fellonie di Tiro, e sopra le quattro io non lo convertirò, (cioè che quando averà fatta la quarta, io non averò misericordia); però che feciono la prigionia compiuta d' Idumea, e non si ricordarono del patto de' fratelli.	9 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:
10 E metterò lo fuoco nelle mura di Tiro, e divorerà le sue case.	10 But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof.
11 E questo dice Iddio: sopra le tre fellonie che ha fatto Edom, e alla quarta io non lo convertirò; però che perseguitò col coltello lo suo fratello, (e isforzoe) e violò la sua misericordia, e tenne più lo suo furore, e riservò la sua indignazione insino alla fine.	11 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:
12 Io metterò lo fuoco in Teman, e divorerà (anche) le case di Bosra.	12 But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.
13 E questo dice lo Signore: sopra tre cose scellerate che fanno i figliuoli d' Ammon, e alla quarta volta io non lo convertirò; però che aperse le femine pregne di Galaad (e non consentirò che le femine pregne di Galaad abbiano tanto spazio) che si compia lo loro termine.	13 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:
14 E io accenderò lo fuoco nel muro di Rabba, e divorerà le sue case, e urleranno nella battaglia e averanno compunzione nel dì della tempesta.	14 But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:
15 E Melcom anderà nella prigione, (cioè una terra), e andravvi ella e lo suo signore insieme, dice lo Signore Iddio.	15 And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the LORD.
