Ezechiele 35

BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 E fu fatta la parola di Dio a me, e disse:	1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,
2 O figliuolo d' uomo, poni la tua faccia incontro al monte Seir, e profeterai a lui, e dirai:	2 'Son of man, turn towards Mount Seir and prophesy against it.
3 Questo dice lo Signore Iddio: ecco me a te, Seir; ed estenderò la mia mano sopra te, e farò te deserto e desolato.	3 Say to it, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Look, I am against you, Mount Seir; I shall stretch out my handagainst you; I shal make you a desolate waste;
4 E guasterò le tue cittadi, e sarai deserto; e saprai ch' io sono lo Signore.	4 I shal lay your towns in ruins. You wil become a waste and you wil know that I am Yahweh.
5 Però che mi se' stato nimico sempiterno, e hai rinchiuso i figliuoli d' Israel nella mano del coltello nel tempo della afflizione loro, nel tempo della estrema iniquità.	5 Since, fol owing a long-standing hatred, you betrayed the Israelites to the sword on the day of theirdistress, on the day when an end came for their guilt,
6 Però io vivo, dice lo Signore Iddio, però ch' io ti darò al sangue, e lo sangue ti perseguiterà; e sarai odiato col sangue, e lo sangue ti perseguiterà.	6 very wel , as I live -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- I destine you to bloodshed, and bloodshed wilpursue you. I swear it; you have incurred guilt by shedding blood, and bloodshed will pursue you.
7 E farò lo monte di Seir desolato e deserto, e torrò da lui l'andante e lo ritornante.	7 I shal make Mount Seir a desolate waste and denude it of anyone travel ing to and fro.
8 E riempierò li suoi monti di corpi morti; nelli colli tuoi e nelle tue valli e nelli fossatelli cadranno li morti di coltello.	8 I shal fil its mountains with its slaughtered; on your hills, in your val eys and in all your ravines, thoseslaughtered by the sword will fal .
9 E porrotti in sempiterne solitudini, e le tue cittadi non saranno abitate; e saprete ch' io sono Iddio Signore.	9 I shal make you a perpetual waste, your towns wil never be inhabited again, and you wil know that Iam Yahweh.
10 Però che hai detto: due genti e due terre saranno mie, e possederolle per eredità, conciosia cosa che vi fosse lo Signore;	10 "Since you said: The two nations and the two countries wil be mine; we are going to take possessionof it, although Yahweh was there,
11 però [io vivo], dice lo Signore Iddio, però ch' io farò secondo la tua ira, e secondo lo tuo zelo, però che tu lo facesti avendoli in odio; e sarò conosciuto per loro, quando io t' averò (conosciuto e) giudicato.	11 very well, as I live -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- I shal act with the same anger and jealousy as youacted in your hatred for them. I shall make myself known for their sake, when I punish you,
12 E saprai ch' io sono Iddio; io udi tutti li tuoi vituperii, li quali tu hai parlato delli monti d' Israel, dicendo: deserti, ci sono dati a noi a divorare.	12 and you wil know that I, Yahweh, have heard al the blasphemies which you have uttered against themountains of Israel, such as: They have been laid waste, they have been given to us for us to devour.
13 E levastivi suso sopra di me colla vostra bocca, e pregaste contro a me; io udii le vostre parole.	13 Great was your insolence towards me, many your speeches against me; I have heard!
14 Questo dice lo Signore Iddio: rallegrandosi l'universa terra, io riducerò te in solitudine.	14 Lord Yahweh says this: To the joy of the whole world, I shal make you a waste.
15 Sì come tu se' rallegrato sopra la ereditate d' Israel, però che fu dissipata (e guastata), così farò io a te: tu sarai disfatto (e sparpagliato), monte di Seir, e tutta la Idumea; e sapranno ch' io sono lo Signore Iddio.	15 Since you rejoiced because the heritage of the House of Israel had been laid waste, I shal do thesame to you, Mount Seir; and you wil become a waste, and so wil the whole of Edom; and they will know that Iam Yahweh.' "
