Isaia 5

BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Io canterò al mio diletto il canto del mio parente della sua vigna. La vigna è fatta al mio diletto nel corno al figliuolo dell' olio.	1 Let me sing my beloved the song of my friend for his vineyard. My beloved had a vineyard on a fertilehil side.
2 E fece la siepe nella vigna, e trasse le pietre di quella, e piantò la vigna eletta, ed edificò la torre nel mezzo di lei, e fece lo canale in quella vigna; e aspettò ch' ella facesse uve buone (e fedeli), ed ella fece uve salvatiche.	2 He dug it, cleared it of stones, and planted it with red grapes. In the middle he built a tower, he hewed apress there too. He expected it to yield fine grapes: wild grapes were all it yielded.
3 Adunque ora voi, abitatori di Ierusalem e di Giuda, giudicate tra me e la mia vigna.	3 And now, citizens of Jerusalem and people of Judah, I ask you to judge between me and my vineyard.
4 Ora è alcuna cosa ch' io dovessi fare alla mia vigna, che non gliele abbi fatto? E però aspettai che facesse uve buone (e naturali), ed ella mi fece uve salvatiche.	4 What more could I have done for my vineyard that I have not done? Why, when I expected it to yield finegrapes, has it yielded wild ones?
5 E ora dimostrerò a voi quello ch' io farò alla mia vigna, (ma quella cosa la quale io farò alla vigna): i? li torrò a lei la sua siepe, e sarae in dispergimento; guasterò il suo muro, e sarà conculcata	5 Very wel , I shal tel you what I am going to do to my vineyard: I shal take away its hedge, for it to begrazed on, and knock down its wal , for it to be trampled on.
6 e diserta; e non si poterà, e non si caverà; e saranno sopra lei vepri e spine; e comande.oe alli nuvoli, che non piovano sopra lei rugiada.	6 I shall let it go to waste, unpruned, undug, overgrown by brambles and thorn-bushes, and I shallcommand the clouds to rain no rain on it.
7 Vigna del Signore delli eserciti la casa d' Israel è, e gli uomini di Giuda germoglio dilettabile suo; io hoe aspettato che facesse il giudicio, ed ecco la iniquità; e hoe aspettato che facesse la giustizia, ed ecco il rumore.	7 Now, the vineyard of Yahweh Sabaoth is the House of Israel, and the people of Judah the plant hecherished. He expected fair judgement, but found injustice, uprightness, but found cries of distress.
8 Guai a voi che congiugnete la casa alla casa, e lo campo congiugnete al campo d' insino al termine del luogo! deh, soli voi abiterete nel mezzo della terra?	8 Woe to those who add house to house and join field to field until there is nowhere left and they are thesole inhabitants of the country.
9 E nelle mie orecchie sono queste cose, dice il Signore delli eserciti: se non saranno case molto diserte, grandi e belle, sanza abitatore.	9 Yahweh Sabaoth has sworn this in my hearing, 'Many houses wil be brought to ruin, great and fine ones left untenanted;
10 E quanto terreno da vigna puote lavorare dieci para di buoi in uno dì produrrà uno vasellino di vino, e XXX moggia di seme faranno tre moggia di frutti.	10 for ten acres of vineyard wil yield only one barrel, and ten bushel of seed wil yield only one bushel.'
11 Guai a voi che vi levate la mattina a seguitare la ebrietade, e per bere insino al vespro, e per essere riscaldati dal vino!	11 Woe to those who get up early to go after strong drink, and stay up late at night inflamed with wine.
12 La citara, la lira, il tamburo e la tibia, e lo vino sì è nello convito vostro; e le operazioni del Signore non guardate, e l' operazioni delle sue mani non considerate.	12 Nothing but harp and lyre, tambourine and pipe, and wine for their drinking bouts. Never a thought forthe works of Yahweh, never a glance for what his hands have done.
13 E imperò lo mio popolo è menato in prigione, però che non ebbe scienza; e li gentili uomini di lui morirono di fame, e la sua moltitudine morì di sete.	13 That is why my people is in exile, for want of perception; her dignitaries starving, her populace parchedwith thirst.
14 E però lo inferno dilatoe l'anima sua, e aprie la sua bocca sanza alcuno termine; e discenderanno li suoi forti uomini, e il suo populo e li grandi e gloriosi suoi, ad esso.	14 That is why Sheol opens wide its throat and gapes with measureless jaw and down go her noblemenand populace and her loud revellers merry to the last!
15 L'uomo sarà umiliato e incurvato; e li occhi de' sublimi (cioè de' superbi) saranno posti sotto.	15 Human nature has been humbled, humankind brought low, and the eyes of the proud have beenhumbled.
16 E sarae esaltato il Signore degli eserciti nel giudicio, e Iddio santo sarae santificato in giustizia.	16 Yahweh Sabaoth is the more respected for his judgement, God the Holy One has displayed hisholiness by his justice!
17 E saranno pasciuti li agnelli secondo il suo ordine; e la terra deserta, conversa in abondanza, li forestieri la mangeranno.	17 Now the lambs wil graze in their old pastures, and the fields laid waste by fat cattle wil feed the kids.
18 Guai a voi, che traete la iniquitade nelli lacciuoli della vanità, e come legame del carro il peccato!	18 Woe to those who drag guilt along by the reins of duplicity, drag along sin as though with a cart rope;
19 Li quali dite: affrettisi e vegna in fretta la sua opera, acciò che la veggiamo; approssimi e venga lo consiglio del santo d' Israel, e saperemolo.	19 to those who say, 'Why doesn't he do his work quickly so that we can see it; why doesn't the Holy Oneof Israel's design hurry up and come true so that we can experience it?'
20 Guai a voi che dite il bene male, e il male bene; ponendo le tenebre luce, e la luce tenebre; e ponendo lo dolce amaro, e lo amaro dolce.	20 Woe to those who cal what is bad, good, and what is good, bad, who substitute darkness for light andlight for darkness, who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.
21 Guai a voi che siete savi ne' vostri occhi, e dinanzi a voi medesimi prudenti!	21 Woe to those who think themselves wise and believe themselves enlightened.
22 Guai a voi che siete potenti a bere il vino, e uomini forti a mescolare la ebrietade!	22 Woe to those whose might lies in wine bibbing, their heroism in mixing strong drinks,
23 Guai a voi li quali giustificate lo empio per li doni, e la giustizia dell' uomo giusto togliete a lui!	23 who acquit the guilty for a bribe and deny justice to the upright.
24 E imperò, sì come il fuoco divora la stipula, e le legne il calor della fiamma sì le consuma; così la loro radice sarà sì come favilla, e la loro pianta salirà come polvere. E hanno gittato la legge del Signore degli eserciti, e la parola del santo d'Israel hanno blasfemata.	24 Yes, as the flame devours the stubble, as the straw flares up and disappears, their root wil be likedecay and their shoot be carried off like dust, for having rejected the law of Yahweh Sabaoth, for havingdespised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
25 Imperò è irato il furore del Signore nel suo popolo, e hae steso la mano sua sopra di lui, e hae percosso; e conturbati sono li monti, e le cose loro morte sono fatte come isterco in mezzo delle piazze. In tutte queste cose non è rimosso il suo furore, ma ancora è la sua mano estenta.	25 This is why Yahweh's anger has blazed out against his people; and he has raised his hand againstthem to strike them; why the mountains have shuddered and why corpses are lying like dung in the streets. Afteral this, his anger is not spent. No, his hand is stil raised!
26 E leverà segno in le nazioni, e sibilerà a lui delle fini della terra; ed ecco festino verrà tostamente.	26 He hoists a signal for a distant nation, he whistles them up from the ends of the earth; and see howswift, how fleet they come!
27 Non [è] deficiente nè faticante in lui; non dormirà frequentemente, nè dormirà, nè si scioglierà il cingolo delle sue reni, nè si romperà la coreggia del suo calzamento.	27 None of them tired, none of them stumbling, none of them asleep or drowsy, none of them with beltunfastened, none of them with broken sandal-strap.
28 E le sue sagitte acute, e tutti li suoi archi estenti. Le ugne de' suoi cavalli come pietra, e le sue ruote come impeto di tempesta.	28 Their arrows are sharpened, their bows al strung, their horses' hoofs you would think were flint andtheir wheels, a whirlwind!
29 Il suo ruggito come di leone, striderà come leoncini; e strignerà con li denti e terrà la preda; e abbracceralla, e non sarà chi la campi.	29 Their roar is like that of a lioness, like fierce young lions they roar, growling they seize their prey andcarry it off, with no one to prevent it,
30 E suonerà sopra lui in quel dì come suono di mare; guarderanno nella terra, ed ecco le tenebre della tribulazione, e la luce ottenebrata è nella sua caligine.	30 growling at it, that day, like the growling of the sea. Only look at the country: darkness and distress, andthe light turned to darkness by the clouds.
