Neemia 7

1 E dopo che fu edificato il muro, e poste le porte, e numerai i portieri e' cantori e' Leviti,	1 Now after the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and numbered the porters and singing men, and Levites:
2 comandai ad Anani mio fratello, e ad Anania principe della casa di Ierusalem; però che costui era uomo (quasi più) verace, e parea che temesse Dio più degli altri;	2 I commanded Hanani my brother, and Hananias ruler of the house of Jerusalem, (for he seemed as a sincere man, and one that feared God above the rest,)
3 e dissi loro: non si aprino le porte di Ierusalem persino al calore del sole. E anco essendo io presente, sono le porte chiuse e otturate; e puosi le guardie degli abitatori di Ierusalem, tutti secondo che li toccava, e ciascuno dirimpetto alla casa sua.	3 And I said to them: Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened till the sun be hot. And while they were yet standing by, the gates were shut, and barred: and I set watchmen of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one by their courses, and every mall over against his house.
4 La città era grande molto e lata; e dentro v'era poco popolo, e le case non erano edificate.	4 And the city was very wide and great, and the people few in the midst thereof, and the houses were not built.
5 E diede Iddio nel mio cuore, e congregai gli nomini principali e' magistrati e il popolo, acciò ch' io li numerassi; e trovato lo libro del numero loro, di quelli che vennero prima, fu trovato scritto in esso.	5 But God had put in my heart, and I assembled the princes and magistrates, and common people, to number them: and I found a book of the number of them who came up at first, and therein it was found written:
6 Questi sono i figliuoli della provincia i quali vennero della pregione di quelli che Nabucodonosor re avea condotto in Babilonia, e tornorono in Ierusalem e in Giudea, ciascuno nella sua cittade.	6 These are the children of the province, who came up from the captivity of them that had been carried away, whom Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon had carried away, and who returned into Judea, every one into his own city.
7 Li quali vennero con Zorobabel: Iosue, Neemia, Azaria, Raamia, Naamani, Mardocheo, Belsam, Mesfarat, Begoai, Naum, Baana. Questo sì è il numero degli uomini del popolo d'Israel.	7 Who came with Zorobabel, Josue, Nehemias, Azarias, Raamias, Nahamani, Mardochai, Belsam, Mespharath, Begoia, Nahum, Baana. 61 Questi sono quelli che vennero di Telmela, Telarsa, Cherub, Addon ed Emmer; e non potero dimostrare la casa de' loro padri, e la sua progenie, s' ei fossero d'Israel:	61 And these are they that came up from Telmela, Thelharsa, Cherub, Addon, and Emmer: and could not shew the house of their fathers, nor their seed, whether they were of Israel.
62 i figliuoli di Dalaia, i figliuoli di Tobia, i figliuoli di Necoda, DCXLII.	62 The children of Dalaia, the children of Tobia, the children of Necoda, six hundred forty-two.
63 E de' sacerdoti: i figliuoli di Abia, i figliuoli di Accos, i figliuoli di Berzellai, lo quale tolse moglie delle figliuole di Berzellai di Galaad, e chiamossi (per nome) secondo il loro nome.	63 And of the priests, the children of Habia, the children of Accos, the children of Berzellai, who took a wife of the daughters of Berzellai the Galaadite, and he was called by their name.
64 Questi cercorono la scrittura sua nel numero della descrizione (dello suo parentado), e non la trovorono; e furono cacciati dell' ordine sacerdotale.	64 These sought their writing in the record, and found it not: and they were cast out of the priesthood.
65 E disse Atersata loro, che [non] mangiassero delle cose sante, persino che non sia trovato uno sacerdote dotto e ammaestrato.	65 And Athersatha said to them, that they should not eat of the holies of holies, until there stood up a priest learned and skilful.
66 Tutta questa moltitudine era quasi come uno uomo; XLII migliaia CCCLX,	66 All the multitude as it were one man, forty-two thousand three hundred sixty,
67 senza i servi e le serve loro, li quali erano VII migliaia CCCXXXVII, e fra loro erano cantori e cantatrici CCXLV.	67 Beside their menservants and womenservants, who were seven thousand three hundred thirty-seven: and among them singing men, and singing women, two hundred forty-five.
68 I loro cavalli, DCCXXXVI; i loro muli, CCXLV.	68 Their horses, seven hundred thirtysix: their mules two hundred forty-five:
69 Li cammelli loro erano quattrocento trentacinque; asini, VI migliaia DCCXX.	69 Their camels, four hundred thirtyfive, their asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.
70 E molti de' principi delle famiglie diedero aiuto nell' opera (di Dio). Atersata diede al tesoro mille dramme d'oro, fiale cinquanta, tuniche sacerdotali DXXX.	70 And some of the heads of the families gave unto the work. Athersatha gave into the treasure a thousand drama of gold, fifty bowls, and five hundred and thirty garments for priests.
71 E da' principi delle famiglie fu dato nel tesoro dell' opera, dramme XX migliaia [d' oro], e mine duo migliaia [e CC] d'ariento.	71 And some of the heads of families gave to the treasure of the work, twenty thousand drama of gold, and two thousand two hundred pounds of silver.
72 [E diede il rimanente popolo] dramme venti migliaia [d' oro] e mine due migliaia d'ariento, e tuniche sacerdotali sessantasette.	72 And that which the rest of the people gave, was twenty thousand drama of gold, and two thousand pounds of silver, and sixty-seven garments for priests.
73 E abitarono i sacerdoti e i Leviti, portieri, cantori e tutto il resto del popolo, e i. Natinei e tutto Israel, nelle loro cittadi.	73 And the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singing men, and the rest of the common people, and the Nathinites, and all Israel dwelt in their cities.
