1 La quale cosa vedendo, Iosef si gittoe sopra la faccia del padre suo, piangendo e basciando lui.	1 And Joseph fell upon his father's face, and wept upon him, and kissed him.
2 E comandò alli medici, suoi servi, che delli aromatici condissero lo corpo del padre suo.	2 And Joseph commanded his servants the physicians to embalm his father: and the physicians embalmed Israel.
3 I quali, compiuti li comandamenti, trapassarono quaranta dì; in verità questo costume era de corpi morti conditi; e pianser lui quelli d'Egitto LXX dì.	3 And forty days were fulfilled for him; for so are fulfilled the days of those which are embalmed: and the Egyptians mourned for him threescore and ten days.
4 E compiuto lo tempo del pianto, favello Iosef alla famiglia di Faraone, e disse: s' io ho trovato grazia nel cospetto vostro, favellate nelle orecchie di Faraone.	4 And when the days of his mourning were past, Joseph spake unto the house of Pharaoh, saying, If now I have found grace in your eyes, speak, I pray you, in the ears of Pharaoh, saying,
5 Imperciò che lo padre mio scongiurò me, dicente: certamente io muoio; nel sepolcro mio, ch' io cavai a me nella terra Canaan, seppellirai me. Adunque io anderoe, e seppelliroe lo padre mio, e ritorneroe.	5 My father made me swear, saying, Lo, I die: in my grave which I have digged for me in the land of Canaan, there shalt thou bury me. Now therefore let me go up, I pray thee, and bury my father, and I will come again.
6 E disse a lui Faraone: va, e seppellisci lo padre tuo, siccome tu giurasti.	6 And Pharaoh said, Go up, and bury thy father, according as he made thee swear.
7 Il quale andando, andarono con lui tutti li vecchi della casa di Faraone, e tutti gli maggiori del nascimento della terra d'Egitto;	7 And Joseph went up to bury his father: and with him went up all the servants of Pharaoh, the elders of his house, and all the elders of the land of Egypt,
8 e la casa di Iosef colli fratelli suoi, sanza li fanciulli e le greggie e l'armenta, li quali lasciarono nella terra Gessen.	8 And all the house of Joseph, and his brethren, and his father's house: only their little ones, and their flocks, and their herds, they left in the land of Goshen.
9 E sì ebbe nel suo accompagnamento carri e cavalli; e fatta è la compagnia non piccola.	9 And there went up with him both chariots and horsemen: and it was a very great company.
10 E vennero all'area di Atad, la quale è posta di là dal Giordano; dove celebrando le es quie con grande pianto e forte, compierono sette dì.	10 And they came to the threshingfloor of Atad, which is beyond Jordan, and there they mourned with a great and very sore lamentation: and he made a mourning for his father seven days.
11 La quale cosa quando la viddero li abita tori di Canaan, dissero: grande pianto è questo d'Egitto. Ed imperciò appellarono lo nome di quello luogo PIANTO DELLO EGITTO.	11 And when the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning in the floor of Atad, they said, This is a grievous mourning to the Egyptians: wherefore the name of it was called Abel-mizraim, which is beyond Jordan.
12 Feceno adunque gli figliuoli di Iacob, siccome egli avea comandato loro.	12 And his sons did unto him according as he commanded them:
13 E portanti lui nella terra Canaan, seppelli rono lui nella spelonca doppia, la quale conperò Abraam col campo, in possessione di sepolcro, da Efron Eteo contra la faccia di Mambre.	13 For his sons carried him into the land of Canaan, and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham bought with the field for a possession of a buryingplace of Ephron the Hittite, before Mamre.
14 Tornato è Iosef in Egitto coi fratelli suoi e con ogni compagnia, seppellito lo padre.	14 And Joseph returned into Egypt, he, and his brethren, and all that went up with him to bury his father, after he had buried his father.
15 Lo quale morto, tementi li fratelli suoi (e con tutti i fratelli) insieme favellarono: ne per avventura e' si ricordi della ingiuria ch' egli hae sostenuta, e renda a noi male d'ogni cosa che noi facemmo!	15 And when Joseph's brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him.
16 E mandarono a lui dicendo: lo padre tuo comandò a noi, che se egli morisse,	16 And they sent a messenger unto Joseph, saying, Thy father did command before he died, saying,
17 che queste sue parole a te dicessimo: io ti prego che tu ti dimentichi la fellonia delli fratelli tuoi, e del peccato e della malizia la quale adoperarono in te: noi in verità ti preghiamo, che al servo di Dio tuo padre tu perdoni questa iniquità. Le quali cose udite, pianse Iosef.	17 So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him.
18 E vennero a lui li fratelli suoi; ed inchinati nella terra l'adorarono, e dissero: servi tuoi siamo.	18 And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants.
19 A quali quegli respuose: non temete; possiamo noi refiutare la volontà di Dio?	19 And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?
20 Voi pensaste di me male; e Iddio ritorno quello in bene, acciò ch' egli esaltasse me, siccome nelle cose presente voi vedete, e faccia salvi molti popoli.	20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
21 Non temete; io pascerò voi e li figliuoli vostri. E consolò loro, e lusingolli, e umilmente fa vello loro.	21 Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.
22 E abitò in Egitto con ogni casa del padre suo; e vivette CX anni, e vide li figliuoli d'Efraim insino alla terza generazione. E li figliuoli di Machir, figliuolo di Manasse, nati sono in le ginocchia di Iosef.	22 And Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his father's house: and Joseph lived an hundred and ten years.
23 Le quali cose trapassate, favellò alli fratelli suoi: dopo la morte mia Iddio vi visiterà, e farà voi dispartire da questa terra, e andare alla terra la quale giurò ad Abraam ed Isaac e Iacob.	23 And Joseph saw Ephraim's children of the third generation: the children also of Machir the son Manasseh were brought up upon Joseph's knees.
24 E conciosia cosa ch' egli iscongiurasse loro, e dicesse: Iddio visiterà voi, e portate con esso voi l'ossa mie di questo luogo (quando io sarò morto)	24 And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
25 compiuti che sono CX anni della vita sua, mori; e condito delli aromati, riposto è in lo loculo in Egitto.	25 And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence.
	26 So Joseph died, being an hundred and ten years old: and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt.
