Prima lettera di Giovanni - (מכתב ראשון של יוחנן) 3

STUTTGARTENSIA-DELITZSCH	NEW JERUSALEM
1 וְזֹאת תֵּדַע כִּי בְּאַחֲרִית הַיָּמִים יָבֹאוּ עִתִּים קָשׁוֹת	1 You may be quite sure that in the last days there will be some difficult times.
2 כִּי־יִהְיוּ הָאֲנָשִׁים אֹהֲבֵי עַצְמָם וְאֹהֲבֵי בֶצַע וְהוֹלְלִים וְגֵאִים וּמְגַדְּפִים וּמַמְרִים בַּאֲבוֹתָם וּכְפוּיֵי טוֹבָה וְלֹא חֲסִידִים	2 People wil be self-centred and avaricious, boastful, arrogant and rude; disobedient to their parents,ungrateful, irreligious;
3 חַסְרֵי אַהֲבָה וּבוֹגְדִים וּמַלְשִׁינִים וְזוֹלְלִים וְאַכְזָרִים וְשׂנְאֵי טוֹב	3 heartless and intractable; they wil be slanderers, profligates, savages and enemies of everything that isgood;
4 וּמֹסְרִים וּפֹחֲזִים וּגְבֹהֵי רוּחַ וְהֹלְכִים אַחֲרֵי תַעֲנוּגִים יוֹתֵר מֵאַחֲרֵי הָאֱלֹהִים	4 they wil be treacherous and reckless and demented by pride, preferring their own pleasure to God.
5 וַאֲשֶׁר דִּמְיוֹן חֲסִידוּת לָהֶם וּמְכַחֲשִׁים בְּכֹחָהּ וְאַתָּה סוּר מֵאֵלֶּה	5 They wil keep up the outward appearance of religion but wil have rejected the inner power of it. Keepaway from people like that.
6 כִּי־יֵשׁ בָּהֶם הַבָּאִים בַּלָּאט אֶל־הַבָּתִּים וְשֹׁבִים נָשִׁים טְעוּנוֹת חֲטָאִים וְנִתְעוֹת בְּתַאֲוֺת שֹׁנוֹת	6 Of the same kind, too, are those men who insinuate themselves into families in order to get influenceover sil y women who are obsessed with their sins and follow one craze after another,
7 הַלֹּמְדוֹת תָּמִיד וּלְעוֹלָם אֵינָן יְכֹלוֹת לָבוֹא לִידִיעַת הָאֱמֶת	7 always seeking learning, but unable ever to come to knowledge of the truth.
8 כִּי־כְמוֹ יַנִּיס וְיַמְבְּרִיס אֲשֶׁר־קָמוּ עַל־משֶׁה כֵּן גַּם־אֵלֶּה מִתְקוֹמְמִים אֶל־הָאֱמֶת אֲנָשִׁים אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁחֲתָה דַעְתָּם וְנִמְאָסִים בִּדְבַר הָאֱמוּנָה	8 Just as Jannes and Jambres defied Moses, so these men defy the truth, their minds corrupt and theirfaith spurious.
9 אָכֵן לֹא־יוֹסִיפוּ לְהַצְלִיחַ כִּי שִׁגְעוֹנָם יִגָּלֶה לַכֹּל כַּאֲשֶׁר קָרָה גַּם־אֶת־הָאֲנָשִׁים הָהֵם	9 But they will not be able to go on much longer: their fol y, like that of the other two, must become obviousto everybody.
10 אֲבָל אַתָּה הָלַכְתָּ אַחֲרַי בַּהוֹרָאָה וּבַהַנְהָגָה וּבָרָצוֹן וּבָאֱמוּנָה וּבְאֹרֶךְ הָרוּחַ וּבָאַהֲבָה וּבַסַּבְלָנוּת	10 You, though, have followed my teaching, my way of life, my aims, my faith, my patience and my love,my perseverance
11 וּבָרְדִיפוֹת וּבָעִנּוּיִם אֲשֶׁר מְצָאוּנִי בְּאַנְטְיוֹכְיָא וּבְאִקּוֹנְיָא וּבְלוּסְטְרָא וְאֵלֶּה הָרְדִיפוֹת סָבַלְתִּי וּמִכֻּלָּן הִצִּילַנִי הָאָדוֹן	11 and the persecutions and sufferings that came to me in places like Antioch, Iconium and Lystra -- althe persecutions I have endured; and the Lord has rescued me from every one of them.
12 וְגַם כָּל־הַחֲפֵצִים לִחְיוֹת חַיֵּי חֲסִידוּת בַּמָּשִׁיחַ יֵשׁוּעַ הֵמָּה יֵרָדֵפוּ	12 But anybody who tries to live in devotion to Christ is certain to be persecuted;
13 וַאֲנָשִׁים רָעִים וְקֹסְמִים יוֹסִיפוּ סָרָה מַתְעִים וְנִתְעִים	13 while these wicked impostors wil go from bad to worse, deceiving others, and themselves deceived.
14 אֲבָל אַתָּה עֲמֹד בְּמַה־שֶּׁלָּמַדְתָּ וְהָבְטַחְתָּ כִּי יוֹדֵעַ אַתָּה מִי־הוּא אֲשֶׁר לָמַדְתָּ מִמֶּנּוּ	14 You must keep to what you have been taught and know to be true; remember who your teachers were,
15 וּמִנְּעוּרֶיךָ יָדַעְתָּ אֶת־כִּתְבֵי הַקֹּדֶשׁ הַיְכֹלִים לְהַחְכִּימְךָ אֶל־הַיְשׁוּעָה עַל־יְדֵי הָאֱמוּנָה בַּמָּשִׁיחַ יֵשׁוּעַ	15 and how, ever since you were a child, you have known the holy scriptures -from these you can learnthe wisdom that leads to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
16 כִּי כָּל־הַכָּתוּב נִכְתַּב בְּרוּחַ אֱלֹהִים גַּם־מוֹעִיל לְהוֹרֹת וּלְהוֹכִיחַ וּלְיַשֵּׁר וּלְיַסֵּר בַּצֶּדֶק	16 Al scripture is inspired by God and useful for refuting error, for guiding people's lives and teachingthem to be upright.
17 לְמַעַן אֲשֶׁר־יִהְיֶה אִישׁ הָאֱלֹהִים תָּמִים וּמָהִיר לְכָל־מַעֲשֶׂה טוֹב	17 This is how someone who is dedicated to God becomes ful y equipped and ready for any good work.
18 בָּנַי אַל־נָא נֶאֱהַב בְּמִלִּין וּבַלָּשׁוֹן כִּי אִם־בְּפֹעַל וּבֶאֱמֶת
19 וּבָזֹאת נֵדְעָה כִּי מִן־הָאֱמֶת אֲנַחְנוּ וּלְפָנָיו נַשְׁקִיט אֶת־לִבּוֹתֵינוּ
20 כִּי אִם־לְבָבֵנוּ יַרְשִׁיעַ אֹתָנוּ הָאֱלֹהִים נִשְׂגָּב הוּא מִלְּבָבֵנוּ וְיֹדֵעַ אֶת־כֹּל
21 אֲהוּבַי אִם־לְבָבֵנוּ לֹא־יַרְשִׁיעֵנוּ בִּטָּחוֹן לָנוּ בֵּאלֹהִים
22 וְכָל־אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁאַל מֵאִתּוֹ נְקַבֵּל כִּי־נִשְׁמֹר אֶת־מִצְוֺתָיו וְנַעֲשֶׂה אֶת־הָרָצוּי לְפָנָיו
23 וְזֹאת הִיא מִצְוָתוֹ לְהַאֲמִין בְּשֶׁם־בְּנוֹ יֵשׁוּעַ הַמָּשִׁיחַ וּלְאַהֲבָה אִישׁ אֶת־רֵעֵהוּ כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּנוּ
24 וְהַשֹּׁמֵר אֶת־מִצְוֺתָיו יָקוּם בּוֹ וְהוּא בוֹ וּבָזֹאת נֵדַע כִּי־הוּא שֹׁכֵן בָּנוּ בָּרוּחַ אֲשֶׁר־נָתַן לָנוּ
