1 וַיְהִי דְבַר־יְהוָה אֵלַי לֵאמֹר	1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,
2 בֶּן־אָדָם הִנָּבֵא וְאָמַרְתָּ כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה הֵילִילוּ הָהּ לַיֹּום	2 'Son of man, prophesy and say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Howl: Disaster day!
3 כִּי־קָרֹוב יֹום וְקָרֹוב יֹום לַיהוָה יֹום עָנָן עֵת גֹּויִם יִהְיֶה	3 For the day is near, the day of Yahweh is near; it wil be a day dark with cloud, a time of doom for thenations.
4 וּבָאָה חֶרֶב בְּמִצְרַיִם וְהָיְתָה חַלְחָלָה בְּכוּשׁ בִּנְפֹל חָלָל בְּמִצְרָיִם וְלָקְחוּ הֲמֹונָהּ וְנֶהֶרְסוּ יְסֹודֹתֶיהָ	4 "The sword wil come on Egypt, and anguish on the country of Cush when the slaughtered fal inEgypt, when her riches are carried away and her foundations are destroyed.
5 כּוּשׁ וּפוּט וְלוּד וְכָל־הָעֶרֶב וְכוּב וּבְנֵי אֶרֶץ הַבְּרִית אִתָּם בַּחֶרֶב יִפֹּלוּ׃ פ	5 Cush, Put and Lud, all Arabia, Cub and the children of the country of the covenant will fal by thesword with them.
6 כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה וְנָפְלוּ סֹמְכֵי מִצְרַיִם וְיָרַד גְּאֹון עֻזָּהּ מִמִּגְדֹּל סְוֵנֵה בַּחֶרֶב יִפְּלוּ־בָהּ נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה	6 "Yahweh says this: "The supports of Egypt wil fall; the pride of her strength wil crumble; they will fal by the sword from Migdol to Syene -- declares the Lord Yahweh.
7 וְנָשַׁמּוּ בְּתֹוךְ אֲרָצֹות נְשַׁמֹּות וְעָרָיו בְּתֹוךְ־עָרִים נַחֲרָבֹות תִּהְיֶינָה	7 "They will be the most desolate of desolate countries, and its cities the most ruined of cities.
8 וְיָדְעוּ כִּי־אֲנִי יְהוָה בְּתִתִּי־אֵשׁ בְּמִצְרַיִם וְנִשְׁבְּרוּ כָּל־עֹזְרֶיהָ	8 And they wil know that I am Yahweh when I set fire to Egypt and al its supports are shattered.
9 בַּיֹּום הַהוּא יֵצְאוּ מַלְאָכִים מִלְּפָנַי בַּצִּים לְהַחֲרִיד אֶת־כּוּשׁ בֶּטַח וְהָיְתָה חַלְחָלָה בָהֶם בְּיֹום מִצְרַיִם כִּי הִנֵּה בָּאָה׃ ס	9 "That day, I shal send messengers by ship to terrify the carefree Cushites, and anguish wil overtakethem on the day of Egypt -- it is coming now!
10 כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה וְהִשְׁבַּתִּי אֶת־הֲמֹון מִצְרַיִם בְּיַד נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּר מֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶל	10 The Lord Yahweh says this: I shal destroy the huge population of Egypt at the hand ofNebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.
11 הוּא וְעַמֹּו אִתֹּו עָרִיצֵי גֹויִם מוּבָאִים לְשַׁחֵת הָאָרֶץ וְהֵרִיקוּ חַרְבֹותָם עַל־מִצְרַיִם וּמָלְאוּ אֶת־הָאָרֶץ חָלָל	11 He and his people, the most barbarous of nations, wil be brought to ravage the country. They wildraw the sword against Egypt and fil the country with corpses.
12 וְנָתַתִּי יְאֹרִים חָרָבָה וּמָכַרְתִּי אֶת־הָאָרֶץ בְּיַד־רָעִים וַהֲשִׁמֹּתִי אֶרֶץ וּמְלֹאָהּ בְּיַד־זָרִים אֲנִי יְהוָה דִּבַּרְתִּי׃ ס	12 I shal dry up the courses of the Nile and sel the country to the wicked. I shal lay the whole countrywaste and everything in it, at the hand of foreigners. I, Yahweh, have spoken.
13 כֹּה־אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה וְהַאֲבַדְתִּי גִלּוּלִים וְהִשְׁבַּתִּי אֱלִילִים מִנֹּף וְנָשִׂיא מֵאֶרֶץ־מִצְרַיִם לֹא יִהְיֶה־עֹוד וְנָתַתִּי יִרְאָה בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם	13 "The Lord Yahweh says this: I shall destroy the foul idols and take the false gods away from Noph.Egypt wil be left without a ruler. I shall spread fear through Egypt.
14 וַהֲשִׁמֹּתִי אֶת־פַּתְרֹוס וְנָתַתִּי אֵשׁ בְּצֹעַן וְעָשִׂיתִי שְׁפָטִים בְּנֹא	14 I shal lay Pathros waste, set Zoan on fire, inflict my punishments on No.
15 וְשָׁפַכְתִּי חֲמָתִי עַל־סִין מָעֹוז מִצְרָיִם וְהִכְרַתִּי אֶת־הֲמֹון נֹא	15 I shal vent my fury on Sin, the bastion of Egypt; I shall wipe out the throngs of No.
16 וְנָתַתִּי אֵשׁ בְּמִצְרַיִם חוּל [תָּחִיל כ] (תָּחוּל ק) סִין וְנֹא תִּהְיֶה לְהִבָּקֵעַ וְנֹף צָרֵי יֹומָם	16 I shal set fire to Egypt; Sin will be seized with convulsions; a breach wil be opened at No and thewaters flood out.
17 בַּחוּרֵי אָוֶן וּפִי־בֶסֶת בַּחֶרֶב יִפֹּלוּ וְהֵנָּה בַּשְּׁבִי תֵלַכְנָה	17 The young men of On and Pi-Beseth wil fal by the sword and the cities themselves go into captivity.
18 וּבִתְחַפְנְחֵס חָשַׂךְ הַיֹּום בְּשִׁבְרִי־שָׁם אֶת־מֹטֹות מִצְרַיִם וְנִשְׁבַּת־בָּהּ גְּאֹון עֻזָּהּ הִיא עָנָן יְכַסֶּנָּה וּבְנֹותֶיהָ בַּשְּׁבִי תֵלַכְנָה	18 At Tahpanhes day will turn to darkness when I shatter the sceptres of Egypt there, when the pride ofher strength ceases. A cloud will cover Egypt itself, and its daughters will go into captivity.
19 וְעָשִׂיתִי שְׁפָטִים בְּמִצְרָיִם וְיָדְעוּ כִּי־אֲנִי יְהוָה׃ פ	19 Such wil be the punishments I inflict on Egypt. And they wil know that I am Yahweh." '
20 וַיְהִי בְּאַחַת עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה בָּרִאשֹׁון בְּשִׁבְעָה לַחֹדֶשׁ הָיָה דְבַר־יְהוָה אֵלַי לֵאמֹר	20 In the eleventh year, on the seventh day of the first month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to meas fol ows,
21 בֶּן־אָדָם אֶת־זְרֹועַ פַּרְעֹה מֶלֶךְ־מִצְרַיִם שָׁבָרְתִּי וְהִנֵּה לֹא־חֻבְּשָׁה לָתֵת רְפֻאֹות לָשׂוּם חִתּוּל לְחָבְשָׁהּ לְחָזְקָהּ לִתְפֹּשׂ בֶּחָרֶב׃ ס	21 'Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; you can see that no one has dressedhis wound by applying remedies to it, by bandaging it and by dressing it, to make it strong enough to wield thesword.
22 לָכֵן כֹּה־אָמַר ׀ אֲדֹנָי יְהֹוִה הִנְנִי אֶל־פַּרְעֹה מֶלֶךְ־מִצְרַיִם וְשָׁבַרְתִּי אֶת־זְרֹעֹתָיו אֶת־הַחֲזָקָה וְאֶת־הַנִּשְׁבָּרֶת וְהִפַּלְתִּי אֶת־הַחֶרֶב מִיָּדֹו	22 This being so, the Lord Yahweh says this, "Look, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt; I shal breakhis arms, the sound one and the broken one, and make the sword drop from his hand.
23 וַהֲפִצֹותִי אֶת־מִצְרַיִם בַּגֹּויִם וְזֵרִיתִם בָּאֲרָצֹות	23 I shal scatter Egypt among the nations and disperse it among the countries.
24 וְחִזַּקְתִּי אֶת־זְרֹעֹות מֶלֶךְ בָּבֶל וְנָתַתִּי אֶת־חַרְבִּי בְּיָדֹו וְשָׁבַרְתִּי אֶת־זְרֹעֹות פַּרְעֹה וְנָאַק נַאֲקֹות חָלָל לְפָנָיו	24 I shal strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand. I shal breakPharaoh's arms and, confronted with his enemy, he wil groan like a dying man.
25 וְהַחֲזַקְתִּי אֶת־זְרֹעֹות מֶלֶךְ בָּבֶל וּזְרֹעֹות פַּרְעֹה תִּפֹּלְנָה וְיָדְעוּ כִּי־אֲנִי יְהוָה בְּתִתִּי חַרְבִּי בְּיַד מֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶל וְנָטָה אֹותָהּ אֶל־אֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם	25 I shal strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh wil fall. And they wilknow that I am Yahweh, when I put my sword into the hands of the king of Babylon and he wields it againstEgypt.
26 וַהֲפִצֹותִי אֶת־מִצְרַיִם בַּגֹּויִם וְזֵרִיתִי אֹותָם בָּאֲרָצֹות וְיָדְעוּ כִּי־אֲנִי יְהוָה׃ ס	26 I shal scatter Egypt among the nations and disperse it among the countries; and they wil know that Iam Yahweh." '
