1 לִשְׁלֹמֹה ׀ אֱלֹהִים מִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ לְמֶלֶךְ תֵּן וְצִדְקָתְךָ לְבֶן־מֶלֶךְ | 1 [Of Solomon] God, endow the king with your own fair judgement, the son of the king with your ownsaving justice, |
2 יָדִין עַמְּךָ בְצֶדֶק וַעֲנִיֶּיךָ בְמִשְׁפָּט | 2 that he may rule your people with justice, and your poor with fair judgement. |
3 יִשְׂאוּ הָרִים שָׁלֹום לָעָם וּגְבָעֹות בִּצְדָקָה | 3 Mountains and hil s, bring peace to the people! With justice |
4 יִשְׁפֹּט ׀ עֲנִיֵּי־עָם יֹושִׁיעַ לִבְנֵי אֶבְיֹון וִידַכֵּא עֹושֵׁק | 4 he wil judge the poor of the people, he wil save the children of the needy and crush their oppressors. |
5 יִירָאוּךָ עִם־שָׁמֶשׁ וְלִפְנֵי יָרֵחַ דֹּור דֹּורִים | 5 In the sight of the sun and the moon he wil endure, age after age. |
6 יֵרֵד כְּמָטָר עַל־גֵּז כִּרְבִיבִים זַרְזִיף אָרֶץ | 6 He will come down like rain on mown grass, like showers moistening the land. |
7 יִפְרַח־בְּיָמָיו צַדִּיק וְרֹב לֹום עַד־בְּלִי יָרֵחַ | 7 In his days uprightness shal flourish, and peace in plenty till the moon is no more. |
8 וְיֵרְדְּ מִיָּם עַד־יָם וּמִנָּהָר עַד־אַפְסֵי־אָרֶץ | 8 His empire shal stretch from sea to sea, from the river to the limits of the earth. |
9 לְפָנָיו יִכְרְעוּ צִיִּים וְאֹיְבָיו עָפָר יְלַחֵכוּ | 9 The Beast wil cower before him, his enemies lick the dust; |
10 מַלְכֵי תַרְשִׁישׁ וְאִיִּים מִנְחָה יָשִׁיבוּ מַלְכֵי שְׁבָא וּסְבָא אֶשְׁכָּר יַקְרִיבוּ | 10 the kings of Tarshish and the islands wil pay him tribute. The kings of Sheba and Saba wil offer gifts; |
11 וְיִשְׁתַּחֲווּ־לֹו כָל־מְלָכִים כָּל־גֹּויִם יַעַבְדוּהוּ | 11 all kings will do him homage, al nations become his servants. |
12 כִּי־יַצִּיל אֶבְיֹון מְשַׁוֵּעַ וְעָנִי וְאֵין־עֹזֵר לֹו | 12 For he rescues the needy who cal s to him, and the poor who has no one to help. |
13 יָחֹס עַל־דַּל וְאֶבְיֹון וְנַפְשֹׁות אֶבְיֹונִים יֹושִׁיעַ | 13 He has pity on the weak and the needy, and saves the needy from death. |
14 מִתֹּוךְ וּמֵחָמָס יִגְאַל נַפְשָׁם וְיֵיקַר דָּמָם בְּעֵינָיו | 14 From oppression and violence he redeems their lives, their blood is precious in his sight. |
15 וִיחִי וְיִתֶּן־לֹו מִזְּהַב שְׁבָא וְיִתְפַּלֵּל בַּעֲדֹו תָמִיד כָּל־הַיֹּום יְבָרֲכֶנְהוּ | 15 (Long may he live; may the gold of Sheba be given him!) Prayer wil be offered for him constantly,and blessings invoked on him al day. |
16 יְהִי פִסַּת־בַּר ׀ בָּאָרֶץ בְּרֹאשׁ הָרִים יִרְעַשׁ כַּלְּבָנֹון פִּרְיֹו וְיָצִיצוּ מֵעִיר כְּעֵשֶׂב הָאָרֶץ | 16 May wheat abound in the land, waving on the heights of the hills, like Lebanon with its fruits andflowers at their best, like the grasses of the earth. |
17 יְהִי שְׁמֹו לְעֹולָם לִפְנֵי־שֶׁמֶשׁ [יָנִין כ] (יִנֹּון ק) שְׁמֹו וְיִתְבָּרְכוּ בֹו כָּל־גֹּויִם יְאַשְּׁרוּהוּ | 17 May his name be blessed for ever, and endure in the sight of the sun. In him shal be blessed everyrace in the world, and all nations call him blessed. |
18 בָּרוּךְ ׀ יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל עֹשֵׂה נִפְלָאֹות לְבַדֹּו | 18 Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, who alone works wonders; |
19 וּבָרוּךְ ׀ שֵׁם כְּבֹודֹו לְעֹולָם וְיִמָּלֵא כְבֹודֹו אֶת־כֹּל הָאָרֶץ אָמֵן ׀ וְאָמֵן | 19 blessed for ever his glorious name. May the whole world be fil ed with his glory! Amen! Amen! |
20 כָּלּוּ תְפִלֹּות דָּוִד בֶּן־יִשָׁי | 20 End of the prayers of David, son of Jesse. |
