1 Samuele (1 صموئيل) 1

SMITH VAN DYKE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 كان رجل من رامتايم صوفيم من جبل افرايم اسمه ألقانة بن يروحام بن اليهو بن توحو بن صوف. هو افرايمي.	1 There was a man of Ramathaim, a Zuphite from the highlands of Ephraim whose name was Elkanahson of Jeroham, son of Elihu, son of Tohu, son of Zuph, an Ephraimite.
2 وله امرأتان اسم الواحدة حنّة واسم الاخرى فننّة. وكان لفننّة اولاد واما حنّة فلم يكن لها اولاد.	2 He had two wives, one called Hannah, the other Peninnah; Peninnah had children but Hannah hadnone.
3 وكان هذا الرجل يصعد من مدينته من سنة الى سنة ليسجد ويذبح لرب الجنود في شيلوه. وكان هناك ابنا عالي حفني وفينحاس كاهنا الرب.	3 Every year this man used to go up from his town to worship, and to sacrifice to Yahweh Sabaoth atShiloh. (The two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there as priests of Yahweh.)
4 ولما كان الوقت وذبح القانة اعطى فننّة امرأته وجميع بنيها وبناتها انصبة.	4 One day Elkanah offered a sacrifice. Now he used to give portions to Peninnah and to al her sons anddaughters;
5 واما حنّة فاعطاها نصيب اثنين لانه كان يحب حنّة. ولكن الرب كان قد اغلق رحمها.	5 to Hannah, however, he would give only one portion: for, although he loved Hannah more, Yahweh hadmade her barren.
6 وكانت ضرّتها تغيظها ايضا غيظا لاجل المراغمة. لان الرب اغلق رحمها.	6 Furthermore, her rival would taunt and provoke her, because Yahweh had made her womb barren.
7 وهكذا صار سنة بعد سنة كلما صعدت الى بيت الرب هكذا كانت تغيظها. فبكت ولم تأكل.	7 And this went on year after year; every time they went up to the temple of Yahweh she used to taunther. On that day she wept and would not eat anything;
8 فقال لها القانة رجلها يا حنّة لماذا تبكين ولماذا لا تأكلين ولماذا يكتئب قلبك. أما انا خير لك من عشرة بنين	8 so her husband Elkanah said, 'Hannah, why are you crying? Why are you not eating anything? Why areyou so sad? Am I not more to you than ten sons?'
9 فقامت حنّة بعد ما اكلوا في شيلوه وبعد ما شربوا. وعالي الكاهن جالس على الكرسي عند قائمة هيكل الرب.	9 When they had finished eating in the room, Hannah got up and stood before Yahweh. Eli the priest wassitting on his seat by the doorpost of the temple of Yahweh.
10 وهي مرّة النفس. فصلّت الى الرب وبكت بكاء	10 In the bitterness of her soul she prayed to Yahweh with many tears,
11 ونذرت نذرا وقالت يا رب الجنود ان نظرت نظرا الى مذلة امتك وذكرتني ولم تنس امتك بل اعطيت امتك زرع بشر فاني اعطيه للرب كل ايام حياته ولا يعلو راسه موسى.	11 and she made this vow, 'Yahweh Sabaoth! Should you condescend to notice the humiliation of yourservant and keep her in mind instead of disregarding your servant, and give her a boy, I wil give him to Yahwehfor the whole of his life and no razor shal ever touch his head.'
12 وكان اذ اكثرت الصلاة امام الرب وعالي يلاحظ فاها.	12 While she went on praying to Yahweh, Eli was watching her mouth,
13 فان حنّة كانت تتكلم في قلبها وشفتاها فقط تتحركان وصوتها لم يسمع. ان عالي ظنّها سكرى.	13 for Hannah was speaking under her breath; her lips were moving but her voice could not be heard,and Eli thought that she was drunk.
14 فقال لها عالي حتى متى تسكرين. انزعي خمرك عنك.	14 Eli said, 'How much longer are you going to stay drunk? Get rid of your wine.'
15 فاجابت حنّة وقالت لا يا سيدي. اني امرأة حزينة الروح ولم اشرب خمرا ولا مسكرا بل اسكب نفسي امام الرب.	15 'No, my lord,' Hannah replied, 'I am a woman in great trouble; I have not been drinking wine or strongdrink -- I am pouring out my soul before Yahweh.
16 لا تحسب امتك ابنة بليعال. لاني من كثرة كربتي وغيظي قد تكلمت الى الآن.	16 Do not take your servant for a worthless woman; al this time I have been speaking from the depth ofmy grief and my resentment.'
17 فاجاب عالي وقال اذهبي بسلام واله اسرائيل يعطيك سؤلك الذي سألته من لدنه.	17 Eli then replied, 'Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant what you have asked of him.'
18 فقالت لتجد جاريتك نعمة في عينيك. ثم مضت المرأة في طريقها واكلت ولم يكن وجهها بعد مغيّرا	18 To which she said, 'May your servant find favour in your sight.' With that, the woman went away; shebegan eating and was dejected no longer.
19 وبكروا في الصباح وسجدوا امام الرب ورجعوا وجاءوا الى بيتهم في الرامة. وعرف ألقانة امرأته حنّة والرب ذكرها.	19 They got up early in the morning and, after worshipping Yahweh, set out and went home to Ramah.Elkanah lay with his wife Hannah, and Yahweh remembered her.
20 وكان في مدار السنة ان حنّة حبلت وولدت ابنا ودعت اسمه صموئيل قائلة لاني من الرب سألته.	20 Hannah conceived and, in due course, gave birth to a son, whom she named Samuel, 'since', shesaid, 'I asked Yahweh for him.'
21 وصعد الرجل ألقانة وجميع بيته ليذبح للرب الذبيحة السنوية ونذره.	21 Elkanah, the husband, went up with all his family to offer the annual sacrifice to Yahweh and to fulfilhis vow.
22 ولكن حنّة لم تصعد لانها قالت لرجلها متى فطم الصبي آتي به ليتراءى امام الرب ويقيم هناك الى الابد.	22 However, Hannah did not go up, having said to her husband, 'Not before the child has been weaned.Then I shal bring him and present him before Yahweh and he will stay there for ever.'
23 فقال لها القانة رجلها اعملي ما يحسن في عينيك. امكثي حتى تفطميه. انما الرب يقيم كلامه. فمكثت المرأة وارضعت ابنها حتى فطمته	23 Elkanah her husband then said to her, 'Do what you think fit; wait until you have weaned him. MayYahweh bring about what he has said.' So the woman stayed behind and nursed her child until she weaned him.
24 ثم حين فطمته اصعدته معها بثلاثة ثيران وايفة دقيق وزق خمر وأتت به الى الرب في شيلوه والصبي صغير.	24 When she had weaned him, she took him up with her, as wel as a three-year-old bul , an ephah offlour and a skin of wine, and took him into the temple of Yahweh at Shiloh; the child was very young.
25 فذبحوا الثور وجاءوا بالصبي الى عالي.	25 They sacrificed the bul and led the child to Eli.
26 وقالت اسألك يا سيدي. حية هي نفسك يا سيدي انا المرأة التي وقفت لديك هنا تصلّي الى الرب.	26 She said, 'If you please, my lord! As you live, my lord, I am the woman who stood beside you here,praying to Yahweh.
27 لاجل هذا الصبي صلّيت فاعطاني الرب سؤلي الذي سألته من لدنه.	27 This is the child for which I was praying, and Yahweh has granted me what I asked of him.
28 وانا ايضا قد اعرته للرب. جميع ايام حياته هو عارية للرب. وسجد هناك للرب	28 Now I make him over to Yahweh for the whole of his life. He is made over to Yahweh.' They thenworshipped Yahweh there.
