Vangelo secondo Luca (لوقا) 16

SMITH VAN DYKE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 وقال ايضا لتلاميذه كان انسان غني له وكيل فوشي به اليه بانه يبذّر امواله.	1 He also said to his disciples, 'There was a rich man and he had a steward who was denounced to himfor being wasteful with his property.
2 فدعاه وقال له ما هذا الذي اسمع عنك. اعط حساب وكالتك لانك لا تقدر ان تكون وكيلا بعد.	2 He called for the man and said, "What is this I hear about you? Draw me up an account of yourstewardship because you are not to be my steward any longer."
3 فقال الوكيل في نفسه ماذا افعل. لان سيدي يأخذ مني الوكالة. لست استطيع ان انقب واستحي ان استعطي.	3 Then the steward said to himself, "Now that my master is taking the stewardship from me, what am I todo? Dig? I am not strong enough. Go begging? I should be too ashamed.
4 قد علمت ماذا افعل حتى اذا عزلت عن الوكالة يقبلوني في بيوتهم.	4 Ah, I know what I wil do to make sure that when I am dismissed from office there will be some towelcome me into their homes."
5 فدعا كل واحد من مديوني سيده وقال للأول كم عليك لسيدي.	5 'Then he called his master's debtors one by one. To the first he said, "How much do you owe mymaster?"
6 فقال مئة بث زيت. فقال له خذ صكك واجلس عاجلا واكتب خمسين.	6 "One hundred measures of oil," he said. The steward said, "Here, take your bond; sit down and quickly write fifty."
7 ثم قال لآخر وانت كم عليك. فقال مئة كرّ قمح. فقال له خذ صكك واكتب ثمانين.	7 To another he said, "And you, sir, how much do you owe?" "One hundred measures of wheat," hesaid. The steward said, "Here, take your bond and write eighty."
8 فمدح السيد وكيل الظلم اذ بحكمة فعل. لان ابناء هذا الدهر احكم من ابناء النور في جيلهم.	8 'The master praised the dishonest steward for his astuteness. For the children of this world are moreastute in dealing with their own kind than are the children of light.'
9 وانا اقول لكم اصنعوا لكم اصدقاء بمال الظلم حتى اذا فنيتم يقبلونكم في المظال الابدية.	9 'And so I tel you this: use money, tainted as it is, to win you friends, and thus make sure that when itfails you, they wil welcome you into eternal dwel ings.
10 الامين في القليل امين ايضا في الكثير. والظالم في القليل ظالم ايضا في الكثير.	10 Anyone who is trustworthy in little things is trustworthy in great; anyone who is dishonest in littlethings is dishonest in great.
11 فان لم تكونوا امناء في مال الظلم فمن يأتمنكم على الحق.	11 If then you are not trustworthy with money, that tainted thing, who wil trust you with genuine riches?
12 وان لم تكونوا امناء في ما هو للغير فمن يعطيكم ما هو لكم.	12 And if you are not trustworthy with what is not yours, who will give you what is your very own?
13 لا يقدر خادم ان يخدم سيدين. لانه اما ان يبغض الواحد ويحب الآخر او يلازم الواحد ويحتقر الآخر. لا تقدرون ان تخدموا الله والمال	13 'No servant can be the slave of two masters: he wil either hate the first and love the second, or beattached to the first and despise the second. You cannot be the slave both of God and of money.'
14 وكان الفريسيون ايضا يسمعون هذا كله وهم محبون للمال فاستهزأوا به.	14 The Pharisees, who loved money, heard all this and jeered at him.
15 فقال لهم انتم الذين تبررون انفسكم قدام الناس. ولكن الله يعرف قلوبكم. ان المستعلي عند الناس هو رجس قدام الله	15 He said to them, 'You are the very ones who pass yourselves off as upright in people's sight, but Godknows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed in human eyes is loathsome in the sight of God.
16 كان الناموس والانبياء الى يوحنا. ومن ذلك الوقت يبشر بملكوت الله وكل واحد يغتصب نفسه اليه.	16 'Up to the time of John it was the Law and the Prophets; from then onwards, the kingdom of God hasbeen preached, and everyone is forcing their way into it.
17 ولكن زوال السماء والارض ايسر من ان تسقط نقطة واحدة من الناموس.	17 'It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for one little stroke to drop out of the Law.
18 كل من يطلّق امرأته ويتزوج باخرى يزني وكل من يتزوج بمطلّقة من رجل يزني	18 'Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another is guilty of adultery, and the man who marries awoman divorced by her husband commits adultery.
19 كان انسان غني وكان يلبس الارجوان والبز وهو يتنعم كل يوم مترفها.	19 'There was a rich man who used to dress in purple and fine linen and feast magnificently every day.
20 وكان مسكين اسمه لعازر الذي طرح عند بابه مضروبا بالقروح.	20 And at his gate there used to lie a poor man called Lazarus, covered with sores,
21 ويشتهي ان يشبع من الفتات الساقط من مائدة الغني. بل كانت الكلاب تأتي وتلحس قروحه.	21 who longed to fil himself with what fel from the rich man's table. Even dogs came and licked hissores.
22 فمات المسكين وحملته الملائكة الى حضن ابراهيم. ومات الغني ايضا ودفن.	22 Now it happened that the poor man died and was carried away by the angels into Abraham'sembrace. The rich man also died and was buried.
23 فرفع عينيه في الهاوية وهو في العذاب ورأى ابراهيم من بعيد ولعازر في حضنه.	23 'In his torment in Hades he looked up and saw Abraham a long way off with Lazarus in his embrace.
24 فنادى وقال يا ابي ابراهيم ارحمني وارسل لعازر ليبل طرف اصبعه بماء ويبرّد لساني لاني معذب في هذا اللهيب.	24 So he cried out, "Father Abraham, pity me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water andcool my tongue, for I am in agony in these flames."
25 فقال ابراهيم يا ابني اذكر انك استوفيت خيراتك في حياتك وكذلك لعازر البلايا. والآن هو يتعزى وانت تتعذب.	25 Abraham said, "My son, remember that during your life you had your fill of good things, just asLazarus his fill of bad. Now he is being comforted here while you are in agony.
26 وفوق هذا كله بيننا وبينكم هوّة عظيمة قد أثبتت حتى ان الذين يريدون العبور من ههنا اليكم لا يقدرون ولا الذين من هناك يجتازون الينا.	26 But that is not al : between us and you a great gulf has been fixed, to prevent those who want tocross from our side to yours or from your side to ours."
27 فقال اسألك اذا يا ابت ان ترسله الى بيت ابي.	27 'So he said, "Father, I beg you then to send Lazarus to my father's house,
28 لان لي خمسة اخوة. حتى يشهد لهم لكي لا يأتوا هم ايضا الى موضع العذاب هذا.	28 since I have five brothers, to give them warning so that they do not come to this place of torment too."
29 قال له ابراهيم عندهم موسى والانبياء. ليسمعوا منهم.	29 Abraham said, "They have Moses and the prophets, let them listen to them."
30 فقال لا يا ابي ابراهيم. بل اذا مضى اليهم واحد من الاموات يتوبون.	30 The rich man replied, "Ah no, father Abraham, but if someone comes to them from the dead, they willrepent."
31 فقال له ان كانوا لا يسمعون من موسى والانبياء ولا ان قام واحد من الاموات يصدقون	31 Then Abraham said to him, "If they wil not listen either to Moses or to the prophets, they wil not beconvinced even if someone should rise from the dead."
