SMITH VAN DYKE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 احترزوا من ان تصنعوا صدقتكم قدام الناس لكي ينظروكم. والا فليس لكم اجر عند ابيكم الذي في السموات.	1 'Be careful not to parade your uprightness in public to attract attention; otherwise you wil lose al rewardfrom your Father in heaven.
2 فمتى صنعت صدقة فلا تصوت قدامك بالبوق كما يفعل المراؤون في المجامع وفي الازقة لكي يمجّدوا من الناس. الحق اقول لكم انهم قد استوفوا اجرهم.	2 So when you give alms, do not have it trumpeted before you; this is what the hypocrites do in thesynagogues and in the streets to win human admiration. In truth I tel you, they have had their reward.
3 واما انت فمتى صنعت صدقة فلا تعرف شمالك ما تفعل يمينك.	3 But when you give alms, your left hand must not know what your right is doing;
4 لكي تكون صدقتك في الخفاء. فابوك الذي يرى في الخفاء هو يجازيك علانية	4 your almsgiving must be secret, and your Father who sees al that is done in secret wil reward you.
5 ومتى صلّيت فلا تكن كالمرائين. فانهم يحبون ان يصلّوا قائمين في المجامع وفي زوايا الشوارع لكي يظهروا للناس. الحق اقول لكم انهم قد استوفوا اجرهم.	5 'And when you pray, do not imitate the hypocrites: they love to say their prayers standing up in thesynagogues and at the street corners for people to see them. In truth I tel you, they have had their reward.
6 واما انت فمتى صلّيت فادخل الى مخدعك واغلق بابك وصلّ الى ابيك الذي في الخفاء. فابوك الذي يرى في الخفاء يجازيك علانية.	6 But when you pray, go to your private room, shut yourself in, and so pray to your Father who is in thatsecret place, and your Father who sees al that is done in secret wil reward you.
7 وحينما تصلّون لا تكرروا الكلام باطلا كالامم. فانهم يظنون انه بكثرة كلامهم يستجاب لهم.	7 'In your prayers do not babble as the gentiles do, for they think that by using many words they wil makethemselves heard.
8 فلا تتشبهوا بهم. لان اباكم يعلم ما تحتاجون اليه قبل ان تسألوه	8 Do not be like them; your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
9 فصلّوا انتم هكذا. ابانا الذي في السموات. ليتقدس اسمك.	9 So you should pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be held holy,
10 ليأت ملكوتك. لتكن مشيئتك كما في السماء كذلك على الارض.	10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.
11 خبزنا كفافنا اعطنا اليوم.	11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 واغفر لنا ذنوبنا كما نغفر نحن ايضا للمذنبين الينا.	12 And forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven those who are in debt to us.
13 ولا تدخلنا في تجربة. لكن نجنا من الشرير. لان لك الملك والقوة والمجد الى الابد. آمين.	13 And do not put us to the test, but save us from the Evil One.
14 فانه ان غفرتم للناس زلاتهم يغفر لكم ايضا ابوكم السماوي.	14 'Yes, if you forgive others their failings, your heavenly Father wil forgive you yours;
15 وان لم تغفروا للناس زلاتهم لا يغفر لكم ابوكم ايضا زلاتكم	15 but if you do not forgive others, your Father wil not forgive your failings either.
16 ومتى صمتم فلا تكونوا عابسين كالمرائين. فانهم يغيرون وجوههم لكي يظهروا للناس صائمين. الحق اقول لكم انهم قد استوفوا اجرهم.	16 'When you are fasting, do not put on a gloomy look as the hypocrites do: they go about lookingunsightly to let people know they are fasting. In truth I tel you, they have had their reward.
17 واما انت فمتى صمت فادهن راسك واغسل وجهك.	17 But when you fast, put scent on your head and wash your face,
18 لكي لا تظهر للناس صائما بل لابيك الذي في الخفاء. فابوك الذي يرى في الخفاء يجازيك علانية	18 so that no one will know you are fasting except your Father who sees al that is done in secret; andyour Father who sees al that is done in secret wil reward you.
19 لا تكنزوا لكم كنوزا على الارض حيث يفسد السوس والصدأ وحيث ينقب السارقون ويسرقون.	19 'Do not store up treasures for yourselves on earth, where moth and woodworm destroy them andthieves can break in and steal.
20 بل اكنزوا لكم كنوزا في السماء حيث لا يفسد سوس ولا صدأ وحيث لا ينقب سارقون ولا يسرقون.	20 But store up treasures for yourselves in heaven, where neither moth nor woodworm destroys them andthieves cannot break in and steal.
21 لانه حيث يكون كنزك هناك يكون قلبك ايضا.	21 For wherever your treasure is, there wil your heart be too.
22 سراج الجسد هو العين. فان كانت عينك بسيطة فجسدك كله يكون نيرا.	22 'The lamp of the body is the eye. It follows that if your eye is clear, your whole body will be fil ed withlight.
23 وان كانت عينك شريرة فجسدك كله يكون مظلما. فان كان النور الذي فيك ظلاما فالظلام كم يكون	23 But if your eye is diseased, your whole body will be darkness. If then, the light inside you is darkened,what darkness that wil be!
24 لا يقدر احد ان يخدم سيدين. لانه اما ان يبغض الواحد ويحب الآخر او يلازم الواحد ويحتقر الآخر. لا تقدرون ان تخدموا الله والمال.	24 'No one can be the slave of two masters: he will either hate the first and love the second, or beattached to the first and despise the second. You cannot be the slave both of God and of money.
25 لذلك اقول لكم لا تهتموا لحياتكم بما تاكلون وبما تشربون. ولا لاجسادكم بما تلبسون. أليست الحياة افضل من الطعام والجسد افضل من اللباس.	25 'That is why I am tel ing you not to worry about your life and what you are to eat, nor about your bodyand what you are to wear. Surely life is more than food, and the body more than clothing!
26 انظروا الى طيور السماء. انها لا تزرع ولا تحصد ولا تجمع الى مخازن. وابوكم السماوي يقوتها. ألستم انتم بالحري افضل منها.	26 Look at the birds in the sky. They do not sow or reap or gather into barns; yet your heavenly Fatherfeeds them. Are you not worth much more than they are?
27 ومن منكم اذا اهتم يقدر ان يزيد على قامته ذراعا واحدة.	27 Can any of you, however much you worry, add one single cubit to your span of life?
28 ولماذا تهتمون باللباس. تأملوا زنابق الحقل كيف تنمو. لا تتعب ولا تغزل.	28 And why worry about clothing? Think of the flowers growing in the fields; they never have to work orspin;
29 ولكن اقول لكم انه ولا سليمان في كل مجده كان يلبس كواحدة منها.	29 yet I assure you that not even Solomon in al his royal robes was clothed like one of these.
30 فان كان عشب الحقل الذي يوجد اليوم ويطرح غدا في التنور يلبسه الله هكذا أفليس بالحري جدا يلبسكم انتم يا قليلي الايمان.	30 Now if that is how God clothes the wild flowers growing in the field which are there today and throwninto the furnace tomorrow, wil he not much more look after you, you who have so little faith?
31 فلا تهتموا قائلين ماذا نأكل او ماذا نشرب او ماذا نلبس.	31 So do not worry; do not say, "What are we to eat? What are we to drink? What are we to wear?"
32 فان هذه كلها تطلبها الامم. لان اباكم السماوي يعلم انكم تحتاجون الى هذه كلها.	32 It is the gentiles who set their hearts on al these things. Your heavenly Father knows you need themal .
33 لكن اطلبوا اولا ملكوت الله وبره وهذه كلها تزاد لكم.	33 Set your hearts on his kingdom first, and on God's saving justice, and al these other things wil begiven you as wel .
34 فلا تهتموا للغد. لان الغد يهتم بما لنفسه. يكفي اليوم شره	34 So do not worry about tomorrow: tomorrow wil take care of itself. Each day has enough trouble of itsown.'
