Ezequiel 29

SAGRADA BIBLIA	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 No décimo ano, no décimo segundo dia do décimo mês, a palavra do Senhor foi-me dirigida nestes termos:	1 On the twelfth day of the tenth month in the tenth year, the word of the LORD came to me:
2 filho do homem, volta a face para o faraó, rei do Egito, e profetiza contra ele, assim como contra todo o Egito:	2 Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and against all Egypt.
3 faze-lhe este discurso: eis o que diz o Senhor Javé: É contra ti, faraó, rei do Egito, que venho; crocodilo monstruoso, que estás deitado no meio dos teus Nilos. E que dizes: meus Nilos são meus, fui eu que os fiz.	3 Say this to him: Thus says the Lord GOD: See! I am coming at you, Pharaoh, king of Egypt, Great crouching monster amidst your Niles: Who say, "The Niles are mine; it is I who made them!"
4 Vou pôr freios em tuas mandíbulas, em tuas escamas prenderei os peixes dos teus Nilos e tirar-te-ei dos teus Nilos com todos os peixes de teus Nilos agarrados às tuas escamas.	4 I will put hooks in your jaws and make the fish of your Niles stick to your scales, then draw you up from the midst of your Niles along with all the fish of your Niles sticking to your scales.
5 Lançar-te-ei no deserto com todos os peixes de teus Nilos, ficarás estendido sobre a terra, sem ser recolhido nem enterrado. Às feras da terra e aos pássaros do céu dar-te-ei por pasto.	5 I will cast you into the desert, you and all the fish of your Niles; You shall fall upon the open field, you shall not be taken up or buried; To the beasts of the earth and the birds of the air I give you as food,
6 Todos os egípcios saberão então que eu sou o Senhor. Teu apoio foi o apoio de um caniço para a casa de Israel:	6 That all who dwell in Egypt may know that I am the LORD. Because you have been a reed staff for the house of Israel:
7 quando te tomaram na mão, tu te quebraste, e lhes feriste o ombro todo; quando eles se apoiaram em ti, tu te rompeste, e tu lhes fizeste vacilar os rins.	7 When they held you in hand, you splintered, throwing every shoulder out of joint; When they leaned on you, you broke, bringing each one of them down headlong;
8 Eis por que diz o Senhor Javé: vou levar contra ti a espada, para separar de teu meio homens e animais.	8 therefore thus says the Lord GOD: See! I will bring the sword against you, and cut off from you both man and beast.
9 O Egito se tornará um deserto e uma solidão; dessa forma, se saberá que sou eu o Senhor. Pois disseste: o Nilo é meu, fui eu que o fiz;	9 The land of Egypt shall become a desolate waste; thus they shall know that I am the LORD. Because you said, "The Niles are mine; it is I who made them,"
10 por isso vou arremessar-me contra ti, e contra os teus Nilos; farei do Egito um deserto e uma solidão, desde Migdol até Siene e até os confins da Etiópia.	10 therefore see! I am coming at you and against your Niles; I will make the land of Egypt a waste and a desolation from Migdol to Syene, and even to the frontier of Ethiopia.
11 Nenhum pé humano passará aí, e também nenhum pé de animal; ele ficará inabitado durante quarenta anos.	11 No foot of man or beast shall pass through it; they shall not pass through it, and it will be uninhabited for forty years.
12 Farei do Egito um deserto entre os desertos e suas cidades ficarão desoladas entre as cidades desoladas durante quarenta anos; dispersarei os egípcios entre os povos e disseminá-los-ei entre outros países.	12 I will make the land of Egypt the most desolate of lands, and its cities shall be the most deserted of cities for forty years; and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and strew them over foreign lands.
13 Eis o que diz o Senhor Javé: ao fim de quarenta anos, reunirei os egípcios dentre os povos onde estiverem dispersos.	13 Yet thus says the Lord GOD: At the end of forty years I will gather the Egyptians from the peoples among whom they are scattered,
14 Trarei os egípcios cativos e os restabelecerei na terra de Patros, de onde são originários; eles aí constituirão um pequeno reino.	14 and I will restore Egypt's fortune, bringing them back to the land of Pathros, the land of their origin, where it will be the lowliest
15 Será o Egito o mais modesto de todos os reinos, e não mais se erguerá acima das nações. Reduzirei sua população, para que ele não mais domine outras nações.	15 of kingdoms, never more to set itself above the nations. I will make them few, that they may not dominate the nations.
16 Ele não será mais para Israel objeto de confiança; porque recordará a falta que cometeu Israel, em se voltando para ele. Assim se saberá que sou eu o Senhor Javé.	16 No longer shall they be for the house of Israel to trust in, but the living reminder of its guilt for having turned to follow after them. Thus they shall know that I am the LORD.
17 No vigésimo sétimo ano, no primeiro mês, no primeiro dia do mês, a palavra do Senhor foi-me dirigida nestes termos:	17 On the first day of the first month in the twenty-seventh year, the word of the LORD came to me:
18 filho do homem, Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia, impôs a seu exército a rude faina de guerrear Tiro: calvície em todos os crânios, esfoladuras em todas as espáduas! Todavia, nem ele nem seu exército retirarão de Tiro qualquer vantagem da opressão contra ela dirigida.	18 Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, has led his army in an exhausting campaign against Tyre. Their heads became bald and their shoulders were galled; but neither he nor his army received any wages from Tyre for the campaign he led against it.
19 Eis por que diz o Senhor Javé: irei dar o Egito a Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia; ele pilhará suas riquezas; fará dele a sua presa, e repartirá os seus despojos; tal será o salário de seu exército.	19 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: I am now giving the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon. He shall carry off its riches, plundering and pillaging it for the wages of his soldiers, who did it for me;
20 Por preço do trabalho feito contra Tiro, eu lhe dou o Egito, pois é para mim que trabalharam - oráculo do Senhor Javé.	20 as payment for his toil I have given him the land of Egypt, says the Lord GOD.
21 Naquele dia, farei brotar um corno na casa de Israel e te darei licença para abrir a boca no meio deles, e assim saberão que sou eu o Senhor.	21 On that day I will make a horn sprout for the house of Israel, and I will cause you to speak out in their midst; thus they shall know that I am the LORD.
