1 O rei e Amã vieram, pois, ao banquete de Ester.	1 The great king Artexerxes unto the princes and governors of an hundred and seven and twenty provinces from India unto Ethiopia, and unto all our faithful subjects, greeting.
2 No segundo dia, bebendo vinho, disse ainda o rei a Ester: Qual é teu pedido, rainha Ester? Será atendido. Que é que desejas? Fosse mesmo a metade de meu reino, tu obterias.	2 Many, the more often they are honoured with the great bounty of their gracious princes, the more proud they are waxen,
3 A rainha respondeu: Se achei graça a teus olhos, ó rei, e se ao rei lhe parecer bem, concede-me a vida, eis o meu pedido; salva meu povo, eis o meu desejo.	3 And endeavour to hurt not our subjects only, but not being able to bear abundance, do take in hand to practise also against those that do them good:
4 Fomos votados, eu e meu povo, ao extermínio, à morte, ao aniquilamento. Se tivéssemos sido vendidos como escravos, eu me calaria, mas eis que agora o opressor não poderia compensar o prejuízo que causa ao mesmo rei.	4 And take not only thankfulness away from among men, but also lifted up with the glorious words of lewd persons, that were never good, they think to escape the justice of God, that seeth all things and hateth evil.
5 Quem é, replicou o rei, e onde está quem maquina tal projeto em seu coração?	5 Oftentimes also fair speech of those, that are put in trust to manage their friends' affairs, hath caused many that are in authority to be partakers of innocent blood, and hath enwrapped them in remediless calamities:
6 O opressor, o inimigo, disse a rainha, é Amã, eis aí o infame!	6 Beguiling with the falsehood and deceit of their lewd disposition the innocency and goodness of princes.
7 Amã ficou tomado de terror diante do rei e da rainha. O rei, aceso em cólera, levantou-se e deixou o banquete, dirigindo-se ao jardim do palácio, ao passo que Amã permanecia ali, para implorar a Ester o perdão de sua vida, porque via bem que no espírito do rei estava decretada sua perda.	7 Now ye may see this, as we have declared, not so much by ancient histories, as ye may, if ye search what hath been wickedly done of late through the pestilent behaviour of them that are unworthily placed in authority.
8 Quando o rei voltou do jardim do palácio para a sala do banquete, viu Amã que se tinha deixado cair sobre o divã em que repousava Ester: Como!, exclamou. Ei-lo que quer fazer violência à rainha em minha casa, em meu palácio! Mal tinha saído essa palavra da boca do rei, quando cobriram a face de Amã.	8 And we must take care for the time to come, that our kingdom may be quiet and peaceable for all men,
9 Harbona, um dos eunucos, disse ao rei. A forca preparada por Amã para Mardoqueu, cuja denúncia em favor do rei tinha sido tão salutar, acha-se levantada na casa de Amã, alta de cinqüenta côvados.- Que o suspendam nela!, exclamou o rei.	9 Both by changing our purposes, and always judging things that are evident with more equal proceeding.
10 E suspenderam Amã na forca que tinha preparado para Mardoqueu. Isso acalmou a cólera do rei.	10 For Aman, a Macedonian, the son of Amadatha, being indeed a stranger from the Persian blood, and far distant from our goodness, and as a stranger received of us,
