1 Si avvicinarono i capi delle case paterne, delle famiglie dei figli di Galaad, figlio di Machir, figlio di Manasse, delle famiglie dei figli di Giuseppe, e parlarono davanti a Mosè e davanti ai prìncipi, capi delle case dei figli d'Israele.	1 The heads of the ancestral houses in the clan of descendants of Gilead, son of Machir, son of Manasseh-one of the Josephite clans-came up and laid this plea before Moses and the priest Eleazar and before the princes who were the heads of the ancestral houses of the other Israelites.
2 Dissero: "Il Signore ha ordinato al mio signore di dare la terra in eredità per sorte ai figli d'Israele, e il mio signore ha ricevuto ordine dal Signore di dare l'eredità di Zelofcad, nostro fratello, alle sue figlie.	2 They said: "The LORD commanded you, my lord, to apportion the land by lot among the Israelites; and you, my lord, were also commanded by the LORD to give the heritage of our kinsman Zelophehad to his daughters.
3 Se andranno spose a uno dei figli delle altre tribù dei figli d'Israele, la loro eredità sarà sottratta dall'eredità dei nostri padri e sarà aggiunta all'eredità della tribù nella quale saranno entrate, e quello che abbiamo ereditato per sorte ci sarà sottratto.	3 But if they marry into one of the other Israelite tribes, their heritage will be withdrawn from our ancestral heritage and will be added to that of the tribe into which they marry; thus the heritage that fell to us by lot will be diminished.
4 Quando ci sarà il giubileo per i figli d'Israele, la loro eredità sarà aggiunta all'eredità della tribù nella quale saranno entrate, e la loro eredità sarà sottratta dall'eredità della tribù dei nostri padri".	4 When the Israelites celebrate the jubilee year, the heritage of these women will be permanently added to that of the tribe into which they marry and will be withdrawn from that of our ancestral tribe."
5 Mosè comunicò ai figli d'Israele quest'ordine ricevuto dal Signore: "I figli di Giuseppe parlano bene.	5 So Moses gave this regulation to the Israelites according to the instructions of the LORD: "The tribe of the Josephites are right in what they say.
6 Questo ha ordinato il Signore alle figlie di Zelofcad: "Esse saranno le mogli di chi va bene ai loro occhi: solo, saranno mogli nelle famiglie della tribù dei loro padri.	6 This is what the LORD commands with regard to the daughters of Zelophehad: They may marry anyone they please, provided they marry into a clan of their ancestral tribe,
7 L'eredità dei figli d'Israele non girerà da tribù a tribù, perché tra i figli d'Israele ognuno sarà attaccato all'eredità della tribù dei suoi padri.	7 so that no heritage of the Israelites will pass from one tribe to another, but all the Israelites will retain their own ancestral heritage.
8 Ogni figlia che erediterà dalla tribù dei figli d'Israele sarà moglie in una delle famiglie della tribù di suo padre, in modo che ognuno dei figli d'Israele entri in possesso dell'eredità dei propri padri,	8 Therefore, every daughter who inherits property in any of the Israelite tribes shall marry someone belonging to a clan of her own ancestral tribe, in order that all the Israelites may remain in possession of their own ancestral heritage.
9 e l'eredità non giri da tribù a tribù, perché le tribù dei figli d'Israele saranno attaccate, ognuna, alla propria eredità".	9 Thus, no heritage can pass from one tribe to another, but all the Israelite tribes will retain their own ancestral heritage."
10 Le figlie di Zelofcad fecero come il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè:	10 The daughters of Zelophehad obeyed the command which the LORD had given to Moses.
11 Macla, Tirza, Ogla, Milca, Noa, figlie di Zelofcad, sposarono i figli dei loro zii.	11 Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah and Noah, Zelophehad's daughters, married relatives on their father's side
12 Si maritarono nelle famiglie dei figli di Manasse, figlio di Giuseppe, e la loro eredità fu della tribù della famiglia dei loro padri.	12 within the clans of the descendants of Manasseh, son of Joseph; hence their heritage remained in the tribe of their father's clan.
13 Questi sono gli ordini e le disposizioni che il Signore diede per mezzo di Mosè ai figli d'Israele nella steppa di Moab, presso il Giordano di Gerico.	13 These are the commandments and decisions which the LORD prescribed for the Israelites through Moses, on the plains of Moab beside the Jericho stretch of the Jordan.
