LA SACRA BIBBIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Mi giunse la parola del Signore:	1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,
2 "Figlio dell'uomo, rivolgi la faccia a Gog, nel paese di Magog, principe di Ros, Mesech e Tubal, e profetizza contro di lui.	2 'Son of man, turn towards Gog, to the country of Magog, towards the paramount prince of Meshechand Tubal, and prophesy against him.
3 Di': Così dice Dio, mio Signore: Eccomi contro di te, Gog, principe di Ros, Mesech e Tubal.	3 Say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: I am against you, Gog, paramount prince of Meshech and Tubal.
4 Ti trascino via, metterò un morso alle tue mandibole; farò marciare te, tutto il tuo esercito, cavalli e cavalieri vestiti di tutto punto, una moltitudine con scudo, egida, tutti con la spada brandita.	4 I shal turn you about, I shall fix hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your entire army, horses andhorsemen, al perfectly equipped, a huge array armed with shields and bucklers, and al wielding swords.

8 Tra molti giorni ci si occuperà di te, negli ultimi anni marcerai contro il paese degli scampati alla spada, radunati da tanti popoli sui monti d'Israele; furono a lungo vittima della spada e ora sono usciti di tra i popoli e abitano tutti al sicuro.	8 "Many days will pass before you are given orders; in the final years you wil march on this country,whose inhabitants wil have been living in confidence, remote from other peoples, since they escaped the swordand were gathered in from various nations, here in the long-deserted mountains of Israel.
9 Tu salirai, arriverai come una tempesta, sarai come una nube che ricopre la terra, tu e tutte le tue schiere e tanti popoli con te.	9 Like a storm you wil approach, you wil advance and cover the country like a cloud, you, al yourtroops and many nations with you.
10 Così dice il Signore Dio: Allora verranno fuori i tuoi progetti segreti ed escogiterai i tuoi piani cattivi.	10 "The Lord Yahweh says this: That day, a thought wil enter your mind and you wil form a sinisterplan.
11 Dirai: "Voglio salire contro un paese indifeso, voglio andare contro un popolo tranquillo che abita al sicuro" -- abitano senza muro e sbarramenti e senza porte --	11 You wil think: I shal attack this undefended country and march on this peaceful nation living secure,al living in towns without wal s or bars or gates.
12 per depredare, per fare bottino, per portare la tua mano su rovine ora ripopolate e sopra un popolo raccolto di tra le genti, dedito al bestiame e ai propri affari, che abita al centro della terra.	12 You wil come to plunder and loot and turn your might against the ruins they live in, against thispeople gathered back from the nations, these stock-breeders and traders who live at the Navel of the World.
13 Seba, Dedan, i negozianti di Tarsis e tutti i suoi villaggi ti diranno: "Sei venuto per depredare? Hai radunato la tua moltitudine per depredare e portar via argento e oro, per prendere bestiame e averi, per fare gran bottino?".	13 Sheba and Dedan, the merchants and all the magnates of Tarshish wil ask you: Have you come forplunder? Are you massing your troops with a view to looting? To make off with gold and silver, seize cattle and goods, and come away with unlimited spoil?"
14 Per questo, figlio dell'uomo, profetizza e di' a Gog: Così dice il Signore Dio: Quando il mio popolo Israele se ne starà al sicuro, tu ti metterai in viaggio,	14 'So, son of man, prophesy. Say to Gog, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Is it not true that you will set outat a time when my people Israel is living secure?
15 arriverai dal tuo paese, dall'estremo nord, tu e tanti popoli con te, tutti quanti a cavallo, una moltitudine grande, un esercito numeroso.	15 You wil leave your home in the far north, you and many nations with you, a great army of countlesstroops all mounted.
16 Salirai contro il mio popolo Israele come nube che ricopre la terra; ciò sarà negli ultimi giorni. Ti condurrò nella mia terra perché le genti vedano quanto mi mostrerò santo per mezzo tuo, o Gog, al loro cospetto.	16 You wil invade Israel, my people. You will be like a cloud covering the country. In the final days, Imyself shal bring you to attack my country, so that the nations will know who I am, when I display my holiness tothem, by means of you, Gog.
17 Così dice il Signore Dio: Sei tu colui di cui parlai a suo tempo per mezzo dei miei servi, i profeti d'Israele, i quali hanno profetizzato per quei giorni che saresti andato contro di essi?	17 "The Lord Yahweh says this: It was of you that I spoke in the past through my servants the prophetsof Israel, who prophesied in those days, foretel ing your invasion.
18 Ebbene, quando Gog verrà contro il paese d'Israele, oracolo di Dio, mio Signore, il furore mi salirà in viso.	18 The day Gog attacks the land of Israel -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- my furious wrath will boil up. Inmy anger,
19 Nella mia gelosia, nel mio furore ardente giuro: allora ci sarà un grande terremoto nel paese d'Israele.	19 in my jealousy, in the heat of my fury I say it: That day, I swear, there wil be such a huge earthquakein the land of Israel,
20 Di fronte a me tremeranno i pesci del mare, gli uccelli del cielo, le bestie della campagna, tutti gli animali striscianti al suolo e tutti gli uomini che sono sulla faccia della terra. I monti crolleranno, cadranno i contrafforti, tutte le mura finiranno per terra.	20 that the fish in the sea and the birds of heaven, the wild beasts, al the reptiles creeping along theground, and al people on the surface of the earth will quake before me. Mountains wil fall, cliffs crumble, alwal s col apse, and
21 Poi chiamerò su di lui, su tutti i miei monti, la spada, oracolo di Dio, mio Signore, e ci sarà una spada contro l'altra.	21 I shal summon every kind of sword against him -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- and each will turn hissword against his comrade.
22 Lo punirò con peste e sangue; farò cadere torrenti di piogge e grandine, fuoco e zolfo su lui e le sue schiere e tutti quei popoli che sono con lui.	22 I shal punish him with plague and bloodshed, and rain down torrential rain, hailstones, fire andbrimstone on him, on his troops and on the many nations with him.
23 Così mi glorificherò, mi dimostrerò santo, mi farò riconoscere agli occhi di molte genti, e riconosceranno che io sono il Signore".	23 I shal display my greatness and holiness and bring the many nations to acknowledge me; and theywil know that I am Yahweh." '
