1 Differente è chi consacra se stesso a meditare nella legge dell'Altissimo. Ricerca la sapienza di tutti gli antichi e si occupa delle profezie.	1 How different the man who devotes himself to the study of the law of the Most High! 2 Conserva i detti degli uomini famosi e penetra la complessità delle parabole.	2 He treasures the discourses of famous men, and goes to the heart of involved sayings;
3 Cerca il senso nascosto dei proverbi ed è perspicace negli enigmi delle parabole.	3 He studies obscure parables, and is busied with the hidden meanings of the sages.
4 In mezzo ai grandi offrirà i suoi servizi e starà alla presenza dei governanti; visiterà le terre dei popoli stranieri per provare il bene e il male fra gli uomini.	4 He is in attendance on the great, and has entrance to the ruler.
5 Gli sta a cuore l'alzarsi presto per il Signore che l'ha fatto; davanti all'Altissimo farà la sua supplica, aprirà la sua bocca nella preghiera, implorerà per i suoi peccati.	5 He travels among the peoples of foreign lands to learn what is good and evil among men.
6 Se il Signore grande lo vuole, sarà riempito di spirito d'intelligenza; effonderà le parole della sua sapienza e nella preghiera ringrazierà il Signore.	6 His care is to seek the LORD, his Maker, to petition the Most High, To open his lips in prayer, to ask pardon for his sins. Then, if it pleases the LORD Almighty, he will be filled with the spirit of understanding; He will pour forth his words of wisdom and in prayer give thanks to the LORD,
7 E' disposto a offrire consigli e conoscenza e riflette sulle cose nascoste già apprese;	7 Who will direct his knowledge and his counsel, as he meditates upon his mysteries.
8 manifesta la dottrina imparata con lo studio e va fiero della legge dell'alleanza del Signore.	8 He will show the wisdom of what he has learned and glory in the law of the LORD'S covenant.
9 Molti loderanno la sua intelligenza, essa non sarà mai dimenticata; la sua memoria non sarà perduta e il suo nome vivrà per tutte le generazioni.	9 Many will praise his understanding; his fame can never be effaced; Unfading will be his memory, through all generations his name will live;
10 I popoli parleranno della sua sapienza e l'assemblea canterà la sua lode.	10 Peoples will speak of his wisdom, and in assembly sing his praises.
11 Se vive a lungo lascerà, più che mille, un nome, e se muore, quanto ha fatto è sufficiente.	11 While he lives he is one out of a thousand, and when he dies his renown will not cease.
12 Parlerò ancora delle mie riflessioni; io sono colmo come la luna piena.	12 Once more I will set forth my theme to shine like the moon in its fullness!
13 Ascoltatemi, o figli devoti, e fiorite, come rosa che nasce lungo un corso d'acqua.	13 Listen, my faithful children: open up your petals, like roses planted near running waters;
14 Mandate odore, fragrante come incenso, e fate spuntare i petali come il giglio; levate la voce e cantate insieme, lodate il Signore per tutte le sue opere.	14 Send up the sweet odor of incense, break forth in blossoms like the lily. Send up the sweet odor of your hymn of praise; bless the LORD for all he has done!
15 Riconoscete la grandezza del suo nome, e ringraziatelo con la lode che gli spetta, con i canti delle labbra e con le arpe; dite così nel ringraziamento:	15 Proclaim the greatness of his name, loudly sing his praises, With music on the harp and all stringed instruments; sing out with joy as you proclaim:
16 Le opere del Signore son tutte molto belle, ogni suo comando si compie a suo tempo. Non deve dirsi: "Cos'è questo? Perché quello?", perché ogni cosa sarà riutilizzata a suo tempo.	16 The works of God are all of them good; in its own time every need is supplied.
17 Alla sua parola stette l'acqua come un cumulo, al cenno della sua bocca si formarono serbatoi d'acqua.	17 At his word the waters become still as in a flask; he had but to speak and the reservoirs were made.
18 Quando comanda, si compie tutta la sua volontà, nessuno sminuisce la sua opera di salvezza.	18 He has but to command and his will is done; nothing can limit his achievement.
19 Le opere di ogni uomo sono davanti a lui, è impossibile nascondersi ai suoi occhi.	19 The works of all mankind are present to him; not a thing escapes his eye.
20 Egli veglia dal principio alla fine del tempo, non c'è sorpresa alcuna al suo cospetto.	20 His gaze spans all the ages; to him there is nothing unexpected.
21 Non deve dirsi: "Cos'è questo? Perché quello?". Tutto è stato creato secondo il suo scopo.	21 No cause then to say: "What is the purpose of this?" Everything is chosen to satisfy a need.

26 L'essenziale che occorre per la vita dell'uomo: acqua, fuoco, ferro, sale, farina di frumento, latte, miele, sangue d'uva, olio e vestito.	26 Chief of all needs for human life are water and fire, iron and salt, The heart of the wheat, milk and honey, the blood of the grape, and oil, and cloth;
27 Tutte queste cose sono un bene per i buoni, ma si volgono in male per i peccatori.	27 For the good all these are good, but for the wicked they turn out evil.
28 Ci sono venti che sono stati creati per la vendetta, nella loro furia rafforzano i loro flagelli; al tempo della fine riversano la loro violenza e calmano il furore di chi li ha fatti.	28 There are storm winds created to punish, which in their fury can dislodge mountains; When destruction must be, they hurl all their force and appease the anger of their Maker.

31 si rallegrano quando lui li comanda, stanno pronti sulla terra secondo il bisogno e al momento giusto eseguono la sua parola.	31 In doing his bidding they rejoice, in their assignments they disobey not his command.
32 Perciò dall'inizio ho avuto questa convinzione, vi ho riflettuto e l'ho messa per iscritto:	32 So from the first I took my stand, and wrote down as my theme:
33 le opere del Signore sono tutte buone, egli provvede a suo tempo ad ogni necessità.	33 The works of God are all of them good; every need when it comes he fills.
34 Non deve dirsi: "Questo è peggiore di quello", perché tutto risulterà giusto a suo tempo.	34 No cause then to say: "This is not as good as that"; for each shows its worth at the proper time.
35 Ed ora inneggiate con tutto il cuore e con la bocca, e benedite il nome del Signore.	35 So now with full joy of heart proclaim and bless the name of the Holy One.
