1 Al maestro di coro. Salmo. Di Davide.	1 For the leader. A psalm of David.
2 Ascolta, o Dio, la mia voce, mentre a te dirigo il mio lamento; dal terrore del nemico preserva la mia vita;	2 O God, hear my anguished voice; from the foes I dread protect my life.
3 proteggimi dall'assemblea dei malvagi, dalla turbolenta congrega dei malfattori.	3 Hide me from the malicious crowd, the mob of evildoers.
4 Poiché affilano la loro lingua come una spada, scagliano le loro frecce, parole acerbe,	4 They sharpen their tongues like swords, ready their bows for arrows of poison words.
5 per colpire di nascosto l'innocente; all'improvviso lo colpiscono senza alcun timore.	5 They shoot at the innocent from ambush, shoot without risk, catch them unawares.
6 Si fanno forti del loro agire perverso; si mettono d'accordo nel nascondere tranelli, dicendo: "Chi li vede?".	6 They resolve on their wicked plan; they conspire to set snares; they say: "Who will see us?"
7 Essi fanno progetti perversi, hanno messo a punto un disegno ben fatto. Un baratro è l'uomo e il suo cuore un abisso!	7 They devise wicked schemes, conceal the schemes they devise; the designs of their hearts are hidden.
8 Ma Dio ha scagliato contro di loro le sue frecce: improvvisamente sono apparse le loro ferite.	8 But God will shoot arrows at them and strike them unawares.
9 Li ha fatti cadere con le loro stesse lingue e tutti al vederli scuotevano la testa.	9 They will be brought down by their own tongues; all who see them will shake their heads.
10 Presi da timore, tutti gli uomini hanno annunciato l'operato di Dio, hanno riconosciuto ciò che lui ha fatto.	10 Then all will fear and proclaim God's deed, pondering what has been done.
11 S'allieti il giusto nel Signore e speri in lui, e si glorino tutti i retti di cuore.	11 The just will rejoice and take refuge in the LORD; all the upright will glory in their God.
