LA SACRA BIBBIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Canto delle ascensioni. Di Salomone. Se il Signore non costruisce la casa, invano vi faticano i costruttori. Se il Signore non custodisce la città, invano veglia il custode.	1 [Song of Ascents Of Solomon] If Yahweh does not build a house in vain do its builders toil. If Yahwehdoes not guard a city in vain does its guard keep watch.
2 E' cosa vana alzarsi di buon mattino e andare tardi a riposare, mangiando pane di sudore: il Signore ne dà il doppio a chi egli ama.	2 In vain you get up earlier, and put off going to bed, sweating to make a living, since it is he whoprovides for his beloved as they sleep.
3 Ecco, eredità del Signore sono i figli, un premio il frutto del grembo.	3 Sons are a birthright from Yahweh, children are a reward from him.
4 Come frecce nella mano di un prode, così sono i figli della giovinezza.	4 Like arrows in a warrior's hand are the sons you father when young.
5 Beato l'uomo che di essi ha piena la faretra! Non resterà confuso quando verrà alla porta per trattare con i suoi nemici.	5 How blessed is the man who has fil ed his quiver with them; in dispute with his enemies at the citygate he wil not be worsted.
