Joshua 17

1 Then allotment was made to the tribe of Manasseh, for he was the first-born of Joseph. To Machir the first-born of Manasseh, the father of Gilead, were allotted Gilead and Bashan, because he was a man of war.	1 وكانت القرعة لسبط منسّى. لانه هو بكر يوسف. لماكير بكر منسّى ابي جلعاد لانه كان رجل حرب وكانت جلعاد وباشان له.
2 And allotments were made to the rest of the tribe of Manasseh, by their families, Abi-ezer, Helek, Asri-el, Shechem, Hepher, and Shemida; these were the male descendants of Manasseh the son of Joseph, by their families.	2 وكانت لبني منسّى الباقين حسب عشائرهم. لبني ابيعزر ولبني حالق ولبني اسريئيل ولبني شكم ولبني حافر ولبني شميداع هؤلاء هم بنو منسّى بن يوسف الذكور حسب عشائرهم.
3 Now Zelophehad the son of Hepher, son of Gilead, son of Machir, son of Manasseh, had no sons, but only daughters; and these are the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.	3 واما صلفحاد بن حافر بن جلعاد بن ماكير بن منسّى فلم يكن له بنون بل بنات. وهذه اسماء بناته محلة ونوعة وحجلة وملكة وترصة.
4 They came before Eleazar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun and the leaders, and said, "The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance along with our brethren." So according to the commandment of the LORD he gave them an inheritance among the brethren of their father.	4 فتقدمن امام العازار الكاهن وامام يشوع بن نون وامام الرؤساء وقلن. الرب أمر موسى ان يعطينا نصيبا بين اخوتنا. فاعطاهنّ حسب قول الرب نصيبا بين اخوة ابيهنّ.
5 Thus there fell to Manasseh ten portions, besides the land of Gilead and Bashan, which is on the other side of the Jordan;	5 فاصاب منسّى عشر حصص ما عدا ارض جلعاد وباشان التي في عبر الاردن.
6 because the daughters of Manasseh received an inheritance along with his sons. The land of Gilead was allotted to the rest of the Manassites.	6 لان بنات منسّى اخذن نصيبا بين بنيه وكانت ارض جلعاد لبني منسّى الباقين.
7 The territory of Manasseh reached from Asher to Mich-methath, which is east of Shechem; then the boundary goes along southward to the inhabitants of En-tappuah.	7 وكان تخم منسّى من اشير الى المكمتة التي مقابل شكيم وامتد التخم نحو اليمين الى سكان عين تفوح.
8 The land of Tappuah belonged to Manasseh, but the town of Tappuah on the boundary of Manasseh belonged to the sons of Ephraim.	8 كان لمنسّى ارض تفوح. واما تفوح الى تخم منسّى هي لبني افرايم.
9 Then the boundary went down to the brook Kanah. The cities here, to the south of the brook, among the cities of Manasseh, belong to Ephraim. Then the boundary of Manasseh goes on the north side of the brook and ends at the sea;	9 ونزل التخم الى وادي قانة جنوبي الوادي. هذه مدن افرايم بين مدن منسّى. وتخم منسّى شمالي الوادي وكانت مخارجه عند البحر.
10 the land to the south being Ephraim's and that to the north being Manassehs, with the sea forming its boundary; on the north Asher is reached, and on the east Issachar.	10 من الجنوب لافرايم ومن الشمال لمنسّى وكان البحر تخمه. ووصل الى اشير شمالا والى يساكر نحو الشروق.
11 Also in Issachar and in Asher Manasseh had Beth-shean and its villages, and Ibleam and its villages, and the inhabitants of Dor and its villages, and the inhabitants of En-dor and its villages, and the inhabitants of Taanach and its villages, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and its villages; the third is Naphath.	11 وكان لمنسّى في يساكر وفي اشير بيت شان وقراها ويبلعام وقراها وسكان دور وقراها وسكان عين دور وقراها وسكان تعنك وقراها وسكان مجدّو وقراها المرتفعات الثلاث.
12 Yet the sons of Manasseh could not take possession of those cities; but the Canaanites persisted in dwelling in that land.	12 ولم يقدر بنو منسّى ان يملكوا هذه المدن فعزم الكنعانيون على السكن في تلك الارض.
13 But when the people of Israel grew strong, they put the Canaanites to forced labor, and did not utterly drive them out.	13 وكان لما تشدد بنو اسرائيل انهم جعلوا الكنعانيين تحت الجزية ولم يطردوهم طردا
14 And the tribe of Joseph spoke to Joshua, saying, "Why have you given me but one lot and one portion as an inheritance, although I am a numerous people, since hitherto the LORD has blessed me?"	14 وكلم بنو يوسف يشوع قائلين. لماذا اعطيتني قرعة واحدة وحصّة واحدة نصيبا وانا شعب عظيم لانه الى الآن قد باركني الرب.
15 And Joshua said to them, "If you are a numerous people, go up to the forest, and there clear ground for yourselves in the land of the Perizzites and the Rephaim, since the hill country of Ephraim is too narrow for you."	15 فقال لهم يشوع ان كنت شعبا عظيما فاصعد الى الوعر واقطع لنفسك هناك في ارض الفرزّيين والرفائيين. اذا ضاق عليك جبل افرايم.
16 The tribe of Joseph said, "The hill country is not enough for us; yet all the Canaanites who dwell in the plain have chariots of iron, both those in Beth-shean and its villages and those in the Valley of Jezreel."	16 فقال بنو يوسف لا يكفينا الجبل. ولجميع الكنعانيين الساكنين في ارض الوادي مركبات حديد. للذين في بيت شان وقراها وللذين في وادي يزرعيل.
17 Then Joshua said to the house of Joseph, to Ephraim and Manasseh, "You are a numerous people, and have great power; you shall not have one lot only,	17 فكلم يشوع بيت يوسف افرايم ومنسّى قائلا. انت شعب عظيم ولك قوة عظيمة لا تكون لك قرعة واحدة.
18 but the hill country shall be yours, for though it is a forest, you shall clear it and possess it to its farthest borders; for you shall drive out the Canaanites, though they have chariots of iron, and though they are strong."	18 بل يكون لك الجبل لانه وعر فتقطعه وتكون لك مخارجه. فتطرد الكنعانيين لان لهم مركبات حديد لانهم اشداء
