Zechariah 10

1 Ask rain from the LORD in the season of the spring rain, from the LORD who makes the storm clouds, who gives men showers of rain, to every one the vegetation in the field.	1 Demandez à Yahvé les pluies de printemps, car c’est lui qui lance les éclairs. Il vous donnera une pluie abondante, que chacun ait de l’herbe dans son champ.
2 For the teraphim utter nonsense, and the diviners see lies; the dreamers tell false dreams, and give empty consolation. Therefore the people wander like sheep; they are afflicted for want of a shepherd.	2 Car les petites idoles ont parlé pour ne rien dire et les devins ont eu des visions de mensonge. Ils racontent des songes qui n’existent pas et donnent de fausses espérances; c’est pourquoi mon peuple a été dispersé comme un troupeau; privés de bergers, ils ont été opprimés.
3 "My anger is hot against the shepherds, and I will punish the leaders; for the LORD of hosts cares for his flock, the house of Judah, and will make them like his proud steed in battle.	3 Ma colère s’est emportée contre les bergers et j’ai puni les boucs. Mais Yahvé Sabaot va visiter son troupeau, la maison de Juda; il le prendra comme son cheval préféré pour la bataille.
4 Out of them shall come the cornerstone, out of them the tent peg, out of them the battle bow, out of them every ruler.	4 C’est lui qui donnera l’armée, qui donnera la lance et l’arc de guerre, c’est lui qui donnera tous les chefs.
5 Together they shall be like mighty men in battle, trampling the foe in the mud of the streets; they shall fight because the LORD is with them, and they shall confound the riders on horses.	5 Ils seront autant de héros piétinant la boue des champs de bataille; ils sauront combattre car Yahvé sera avec eux, et ils couvriront de honte les cavaliers avec leurs chevaux.
6 "I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph. I will bring them back because I have compassion on them, and they shall be as though I had not rejected them; for I am the LORD their God and I will answer them.	6 Je redonnerai courage à la maison de Juda, je délivrerai la maison de Joseph; je les rétablirai car j’ai pitié d’eux, et ils seront comme si je ne les avais jamais rejetés. (Je suis Yahvé leur Dieu et je les exaucerai.)
7 Then Ephraim shall become like a mighty warrior, and their hearts shall be glad as with wine. Their children shall see it and rejoice, their hearts shall exult in the LORD.	7 Les hommes d’Éphraïm seront comme des héros, tout joyeux comme après avoir bu; à cette vue, leurs fils se réjouiront et leur cœur trouvera sa joie en Yahvé.
8 "I will signal for them and gather them in, for I have redeemed them, and they shall be as many as of old.	8 Je les sifflerai et les rassemblerai. Ils se multiplieront comme aux temps anciens.
9 Though I scattered them among the nations, yet in far countries they shall remember me, and with their children they shall live and return.	9 Ceux que j’ai dispersés parmi les nations se souviendront de moi du fond de ces pays lointains; ils instruiront leurs enfants qui reviendront.
10 I will bring them home from the land of Egypt, and gather them from Assyria; and I will bring them to the land of Gilead and to Lebanon, till there is no room for them.	10 Je les ramènerai du pays d’Égypte, je les rassemblerai d’Assyrie; je les installerai jusque dans le Galaad et au Liban, mais il manquera encore de la place pour eux.
11 They shall pass through the sea of Egypt, and the waves of the sea shall be smitten, and all the depths of the Nile dried up. The pride of Assyria shall be laid low, and the scepter of Egypt shall depart.	11 Alors ils traverseront la mer d’Égypte, car Yahvé frappera les flots de la mer et les eaux profondes du Nil seront mises à sec. L’orgueil de l’Assyrie sera abattu, à l’Égypte on arrachera son sceptre.
12 I will make them strong in the LORD and they shall glory in his name," says the LORD.	12 Yahvé les rendra redoutables, son Nom les mènera au combat - parole de Yahvé.
