1 The LORD said to Moses,	1 Il Signore parlò a Mosè e disse:
2 "Command the people of Israel that they put out of the camp every leper, and every one having a discharge, and every one that is unclean through contact with the dead;	2 «Ordina agli Israeliti che espellano dall’accampamento ogni lebbroso, chiunque soffre di gonorrea e ogni impuro a causa di un morto.
3 you shall put out both male and female, putting them outside the camp, that they may not defile their camp, in the midst of which I dwell."	3 Allontanerete sia i maschi sia le femmine; li allontanerete dall’accampamento, così non renderanno impuro il loro accampamento, dove io abito tra di loro».
4 And the people of Israel did so, and drove them outside the camp; as the LORD said to Moses, so the people of Israel did.	4 Così fecero gli Israeliti: li espulsero fuori dell’accampamento. Come il Signore aveva parlato a Mosè, così fecero gli Israeliti.
5 And the LORD said to Moses,	5 Il Signore parlò a Mosè e disse:
6 "Say to the people of Israel, When a man or woman commits any of the sins that men commit by breaking faith with the LORD, and that person is guilty,	6 «Di’ agli Israeliti: “Quando un uomo o una donna avrà fatto qualsiasi peccato contro qualcuno, commettendo un’infedeltà contro il Signore, questa persona sarà in condizione di colpa.
7 he shall confess his sin which he has committed; and he shall make full restitution for his wrong, adding a fifth to it, and giving it to him to whom he did the wrong.	7 Dovrà confessare il peccato commesso. Restituirà per intero ciò per cui si è reso colpevole, vi aggiungerà un quinto e lo darà a colui verso il quale si è reso colpevole.
8 But if the man has no kinsman to whom restitution may be made for the wrong, the restitution for wrong shall go to the LORD for the priest, in addition to the ram of atonement with which atonement is made for him.	8 Ma se non vi è un parente stretto a cui dare il risarcimento, questo è da restituire al Signore, cioè al sacerdote, oltre l’ariete del rito di espiazione, mediante il quale si compirà l’espiazione per lui.
9 And every offering, all the holy things of the people of Israel, which they bring to the priest, shall be his;	9 Ogni prelievo su tutte le cose consacrate che gli Israeliti offriranno al sacerdote, apparterrà a lui;
10 and every man's holy things shall be his; whatever any man gives to the priest shall be his."	10 le cose sante di ognuno saranno sue, ma ciò che uno darà al sacerdote apparterrà a lui”».
11 And the LORD said to Moses,	11 Il Signore parlò a Mosè e disse:
12 "Say to the people of Israel, If any man's wife goes astray and acts unfaithfully against him,	12 «Parla agli Israeliti dicendo loro: “Se un uomo ha una moglie che si è traviata e ha commesso un’infedeltà verso di lui
13 if a man lies with her carnally, and it is hidden from the eyes of her husband, and she is undetected though she has defiled herself, and there is no witness against her, since she was not taken in the act;	13 e un altro uomo ha avuto rapporti con lei, ma la cosa è rimasta nascosta agli occhi del marito ed ella si è resa impura in segreto, non vi sono testimoni contro di lei e non è stata colta sul fatto,
14 and if the spirit of jealousy comes upon him, and he is jealous of his wife who has defiled herself; or if the spirit of jealousy comes upon him, and he is jealous of his wife, though she has not defiled herself;	14 qualora uno spirito di gelosia si impadronisca del marito e questi diventi geloso della moglie che si è resa impura, oppure uno spirito di gelosia si impadronisca di lui e questi diventi geloso della moglie che non si è resa impura,
15 then the man shall bring his wife to the priest, and bring the offering required of her, a tenth of an ephah of barley meal; he shall pour no oil upon it and put no frankincense on it, for it is a cereal offering of jealousy, a cereal offering of remembrance, bringing iniquity to remembrance.	15 il marito condurrà sua moglie al sacerdote e per lei porterà come offerta un decimo di efa di farina d’orzo; non vi spanderà sopra olio né vi metterà sopra incenso, perché è un’oblazione di gelosia, un’oblazione commemorativa per ricordare una colpa.
16 "And the priest shall bring her near, and set her before the LORD;	16 Il sacerdote farà avvicinare la donna e la farà stare davanti al Signore.
17 and the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel, and take some of the dust that is on the floor of the tabernacle and put it into the water.	17 Poi il sacerdote prenderà acqua santa in un vaso di terra; prenderà anche un po’ della polvere che è sul pavimento della Dimora e la metterà nell’acqua.
18 And the priest shall set the woman before the LORD, and unbind the hair of the woman's head, and place in her hands the cereal offering of remembrance, which is the cereal offering of jealousy. And in his hand the priest shall have the water of bitterness that brings the curse.	18 Il sacerdote farà quindi stare la donna davanti al Signore, le scioglierà la capigliatura e porrà nelle mani di lei l’oblazione commemorativa, che è oblazione di gelosia, mentre il sacerdote avrà in mano l’acqua di amarezza che porta maledizione.
19 Then the priest shall make her take an oath, saying, 'If no man has lain with you, and if you have not turned aside to uncleanness, while you were under your husband's authority, be free from this water of bitterness that brings the curse.	19 Il sacerdote la farà giurare e dirà alla donna: Se nessun altro uomo si è coricato con te e se non ti sei traviata rendendoti impura con un altro mentre appartieni a tuo marito, sii tu dimostrata innocente da quest’acqua di amarezza, che porta maledizione.
20 But if you have gone astray, though you are under your husband's authority, and if you have defiled yourself, and some man other than your husband has lain with you,	20 Ma se ti sei traviata con un altro mentre appartieni a tuo marito e ti sei resa impura e un altro uomo ha avuto rapporti con te, all’infuori di tuo marito...,
21 then' (let the priest make the woman take the oath of the curse, and say to the woman) 'the LORD make you an execration and an oath among your people, when the LORD makes your thigh fall away and your body swell;	21 a questo punto il sacerdote farà giurare la donna con un’imprecazione e il sacerdote dirà alla donna: Il Signore faccia di te un oggetto di maledizione e di imprecazione in mezzo al tuo popolo, facendoti lui, il Signore, avvizzire i fianchi e gonfiare il ventre;
22 may this water that brings the curse pass into your bowels and make your body swell and your thigh fall away.' And the woman shall say, 'Amen, Amen.'	22 quest’acqua che porta maledizione ti entri nelle viscere per farti gonfiare il ventre e avvizzire i fianchi! E la donna dirà: Amen, Amen!
23 "Then the priest shall write these curses in a book, and wash them off into the water of bitterness;	23 E il sacerdote scriverà queste imprecazioni su un documento e le cancellerà con l’acqua di amarezza.
24 and he shall make the woman drink the water of bitterness that brings the curse, and the water that brings the curse shall enter into her and cause bitter pain.	24 Farà bere alla donna quell’acqua di amarezza che porta maledizione e l’acqua che porta maledizione entrerà in lei per produrre amarezza.
25 And the priest shall take the cereal offering of jealousy out of the woman's hand, and shall wave the cereal offering before the LORD and bring it to the altar;	25 Il sacerdote prenderà dalle mani della donna l’oblazione di gelosia, presenterà l’oblazione con il rito di elevazione davanti al Signore e l’accosterà all’altare.
26 and the priest shall take a handful of the cereal offering, as its memorial portion, and burn it upon the altar, and afterward shall make the woman drink the water.	26 Il sacerdote prenderà una manciata di quell’oblazione come suo memoriale e la farà bruciare sull’altare; poi farà bere l’acqua alla donna.
27 And when he has made her drink the water, then, if she has defiled herself and has acted unfaithfully against her husband, the water that brings the curse shall enter into her and cause bitter pain, and her body shall swell, and her thigh shall fall away, and the woman shall become an execration among her people.	27 Quando le avrà fatto bere l’acqua, se lei si è contaminata e ha commesso un’infedeltà contro suo marito, l’acqua che porta maledizione entrerà in lei per produrre amarezza; il ventre le si gonfierà e i suoi fianchi avvizziranno e quella donna diventerà un oggetto d’imprecazione all’interno del suo popolo.
28 But if the woman has not defiled herself and is clean, then she shall be free and shall conceive children.	28 Ma se la donna non si è resa impura ed è quindi pura, sarà dimostrata innocente e sarà feconda.
29 "This is the law in cases of jealousy, when a wife, though under her husband's authority, goes astray and defiles herself,	29 Questa è la legge della gelosia, nel caso in cui una donna si sia traviata con un altro mentre appartiene al marito e si sia resa impura,
30 or when the spirit of jealousy comes upon a man and he is jealous of his wife; then he shall set the woman before the LORD, and the priest shall execute upon her all this law.	30 e nel caso in cui uno spirito di gelosia si impadronisca del marito e questi sia divenuto geloso della moglie; egli farà comparire sua moglie davanti al Signore e il sacerdote le applicherà questa legge integralmente.
31 The man shall be free from iniquity, but the woman shall bear her iniquity."	31 Il marito sarà immune da colpa, ma la donna porterà la propria colpa”».
