Jeremiah 7

1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD:	1 Az ige, mely elhangzott Jeremiáshoz az Úrtól:
2 "Stand in the gate of the LORD's house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the LORD, all you men of Judah who enter these gates to worship the LORD.	2 »Állj az Úr házának kapujába, hirdesd ott ezt az igét, és mondd: Halljátok az Úr igéjét, egész Júda, akik beléptek ezeken a kapukon, hogy leboruljatok az Úr előtt!
3 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will let you dwell in this place.	3 Így szól a Seregek Ura, Izrael Istene: Jobbítsátok meg útjaitokat és tetteiteket, akkor megengedem, hogy ezen a helyen lakjatok!
4 Do not trust in these deceptive words: 'This is the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD.'	4 Ne bízzatok az ilyen hazug szavakban: ‘Az Úr temploma, az Úr temploma, az Úr temploma ez!’
5 "For if you truly amend your ways and your doings, if you truly execute justice one with another,	5 Mert ha valóban megjobbítjátok útjaitokat és tetteiteket, ha valóban igazságot tesztek ember és társa között,
6 if you do not oppress the alien, the fatherless or the widow, or shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not go after other gods to your own hurt,	6 a jövevényt, az árvát és az özvegyet nem nyomjátok el, ártatlan vért nem ontotok ezen a helyen, sem más istenek után nem jártok a saját vesztetekre,
7 then I will let you dwell in this place, in the land that I gave of old to your fathers for ever.	7 akkor megengedem, hogy ezen a helyen lakjatok, azon a földön, amelyet atyáitoknak adtam, öröktől fogva mindörökké.
8 "Behold, you trust in deceptive words to no avail.	8 Íme, ti a hazug szavakban bíztok, melyek nem használnak.
9 Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, burn incense to Baal, and go after other gods that you have not known,	9 Loptok, gyilkoltok, házasságot törtök, hamisan esküsztök, Baálnak tömjéneztek, és más istenek után jártok, akiket nem ismertek;
10 and then come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, 'We are delivered!'--only to go on doing all these abominations?	10 azután pedig eljöttök, és megálltok színem előtt ebben a házban, mely az én nevemet viseli, és így szóltok: ‘Megmenekültünk’, hogy elkövethessétek mindezeket az undokságokat?
11 Has this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, I myself have seen it, says the LORD.	11 Vajon rablók barlangjává lett szemetekben ez a ház, mely az én nevemet viseli? Íme, én is láttam, – mondja az Úr. –
12 Go now to my place that was in Shiloh, where I made my name dwell at first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.	12 Mert menjetek csak el az én helyemre Sílóba, ahol először lakást készítettem nevemnek, és nézzétek meg, mit tettem vele népemnek, Izraelnek gonoszsága miatt!
13 And now, because you have done all these things, says the LORD, and when I spoke to you persistently you did not listen, and when I called you, you did not answer,	13 Most pedig, mivel elkövettétek mindezeket a tetteket – mondja az Úr –, bár szóltam hozzátok, idejekorán szóltam, de nem hallottátok meg, szólítottalak titeket, de nem válaszoltatok,
14 therefore I will do to the house which is called by my name, and in which you trust, and to the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I did to Shiloh.	14 ezért úgy fogok tenni a házzal, mely az én nevemet viseli, melyben ti bizakodtok, és a hellyel, melyet nektek és atyáitoknak adtam, ahogyan Sílóval tettem.
15 And I will cast you out of my sight, as I cast out all your kinsmen, all the offspring of Ephraim.	15 Elvetlek titeket színem elől, amint elvetettem valamennyi testvéreteket, Efraim minden ivadékát.
16 "As for you, do not pray for this people, or lift up cry or prayer for them, and do not intercede with me, for I do not hear you.	16 Te pedig ne imádkozz ezért a népért, ne mondj értük esdeklő imádságot, és ne kérlelj engem, mert nem hallgatlak meg!
17 Do you not see what they are doing in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?	17 Nem látod, mit tesznek Júda városaiban és Jeruzsálem utcáin?
18 The children gather wood, the fathers kindle fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes for the queen of heaven; and they pour out drink offerings to other gods, to provoke me to anger.	18 A fiak fát szedegetnek, az apák tüzet gyújtanak, az asszonyok pedig tésztát gyúrnak, hogy áldozati kalácsokat készítsenek az ég királynőjének; és italáldozatot mutatnak be más isteneknek, hogy engem bosszantsanak.
19 Is it I whom they provoke? says the LORD. Is it not themselves, to their own confusion?	19 Vajon engem bosszantanak? – mondja az Úr. – Nem inkább magukat, arcuk szégyenére?
20 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, my anger and my wrath will be poured out on this place, upon man and beast, upon the trees of the field and the fruit of the ground; it will burn and not be quenched."	20 Ezért így szól az Úristen: Íme, haragom és indulatom kiárad erre a helyre, az emberekre és az állatokra, a mező fáira és a föld gyümölcseire; lángolni fog, és nem alszik ki.
21 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: "Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices, and eat the flesh.	21 Így szól a Seregek Ura, Izrael Istene: Égőáldozataitokat tegyétek hozzá véresáldozataitokhoz, és egyétek meg a húst!
22 For in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, I did not speak to your fathers or command them concerning burnt offerings and sacrifices.	22 Mert nem beszéltem atyáitoknak és nem adtam parancsot nekik égő- és véresáldozatról azon a napon, amelyen kihoztam őket Egyiptom földjéről;
23 But this command I gave them, 'Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people; and walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.'	23 hanem ezt a parancsot adtam nekik: Hallgassatok szavamra, akkor Istenetek leszek, ti pedig az én népem lesztek! Járjatok mindig azon az úton, amelyet parancsolok nektek, hogy jó dolgotok legyen!
24 But they did not obey or incline their ear, but walked in their own counsels and the stubbornness of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward.	24 De nem hallgatták meg, és nem hajtották ide fülüket, hanem gonosz szívük megátalkodottságában annak tanácsai szerint jártak; hátukat fordították felém, nem pedig arcukat.
25 From the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt to this day, I have persistently sent all my servants the prophets to them, day after day;	25 Attól a naptól fogva, amelyen kijöttek atyáitok Egyiptom földjéről, mind a mai napig küldtem hozzátok valamennyi szolgámat, a prófétákat; nap mint nap, idejekorán küldtem.
26 yet they did not listen to me, or incline their ear, but stiffened their neck. They did worse than their fathers.	26 De nem hallgattak rám, és nem hajtották ide fülüket, hanem megkeményítették nyakukat, és még gonoszabbul cselekedtek, mint atyáik.
27 "So you shall speak all these words to them, but they will not listen to you. You shall call to them, but they will not answer you.	27 Ha elmondod nekik mindezeket az igéket, nem fognak rád hallgatni; ha szólítod őket, nem fognak válaszolni neked.
28 And you shall say to them, 'This is the nation that did not obey the voice of the LORD their God, and did not accept discipline; truth has perished; it is cut off from their lips.	28 Azért mondd nekik: Ez az a nemzet, mely nem hallgatott az Úrnak, az ő Istenének szavára, és nem fogadta meg az intelmet. Elveszett a hűség, eltűnt a szájukból.
29 Cut off your hair and cast it away; raise a lamentation on the bare heights, for the LORD has rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.'	29 Nyírd le hajkoronádat, és dobd el, kezdj siratódalba a kopár halmokon, mert elvetette az Úr és eltaszította a nemzedéket, melyre megharagudott!
30 "For the sons of Judah have done evil in my sight, says the LORD; they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to defile it.	30 Mert olyat tettek Júda fiai, ami rossz a szememben, – mondja az Úr. – Undokságaikat abban a házban helyezték el, mely az én nevemet viseli, hogy tisztátalanná tegyék azt.
31 And they have built the high place of Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I did not command, nor did it come into my mind.	31 Fölépítették a Tófet magaslatait, mely Ben-Hinnom völgyében van, hogy tűzben égessék el fiaikat és leányaikat, amit nem parancsoltam, és eszembe sem jutott.
32 Therefore, behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when it will no more be called Topheth, or the valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of Slaughter: for they will bury in Topheth, because there is no room elsewhere.	32 Azért íme, jönnek napok – mondja az Úr –, amikor nem beszélnek többé a Tófetről és Ben-Hinnom völgyéről, hanem az Öldöklés völgyéről, és temetni fognak a Tófetben, mert nem lesz más hely.
33 And the dead bodies of this people will be food for the birds of the air, and for the beasts of the earth; and none will frighten them away.	33 Ennek a népnek holtteste eledelül fog szolgálni az ég madarainak és a föld állatainak, s nem lesz, aki elriassza őket.
34 And I will make to cease from the cities of Judah and from the streets of Jerusalem the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride; for the land shall become a waste.	34 Akkor eltüntetem Júda városaiból és Jeruzsálem utcáiról az öröm hangját és a vidámság hangját, a vőlegény hangját és a menyasszony hangját, mert rommá lesz az ország.«
