Psalms 72

1 A Psalm of Solomon. Give the king thy justice, O God, and thy righteousness to the royal son!	1 Salamontól.
2 May he judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with justice!	2 Isten, add át ítéletedet a királynak, igazságodat a király fiának, hogy igazságosan ítélje népedet, és méltányosan szegényeidet.
3 Let the mountains bear prosperity for the people, and the hills, in righteousness!	3 Békét teremjenek a hegyek a népnek, és igazságot a halmok.
4 May he defend the cause of the poor of the people, give deliverance to the needy, and crush the oppressor!	4 Szolgáltasson igazságot a nép szegényeinek, nyújtson a szegények fiainak segítséget, s alázza meg az erőszakoskodót.
5 May he live while the sun endures, and as long as the moon, throughout all generations!	5 Éljen, amíg a nap és a hold, nemzedékről nemzedékre.
6 May he be like rain that falls on the mown grass, like showers that water the earth!	6 Úgy szálljon le, mint az eső a rétre, s mint ahogy az esőcsepp öntözi a földet.
7 In his days may righteousness flourish, and peace abound, till the moon be no more!	7 Virágozzék napjaiban az igazság és a béke teljessége, amíg a hold el nem múlik.
8 May he have dominion from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth!	8 Uralkodjék tengertől tengerig, A folyamtól a földkerekség széléig.
9 May his foes bow down before him, and his enemies lick the dust!	9 Boruljanak le előtte a sivatag lakói s ellenségei nyalják a port.
10 May the kings of Tarshish and of the isles render him tribute, may the kings of Sheba and Seba bring gifts!	10 Tarzis királyai és a szigetek hordjanak adományokat, Arábia és Sába királyai ajándékokat hozzanak.
11 May all kings fall down before him, all nations serve him!	11 A föld minden királya hódoljon előtte, s legyen minden nemzet a szolgája.
12 For he delivers the needy when he calls, the poor and him who has no helper.	12 Mert ő megszabadítja a szegényt, aki hozzá kiált, s a szűkölködőt, akin senki sem segít.
13 He has pity on the weak and the needy, and saves the lives of the needy.	13 Megkönyörül a szegényen és a nincstelenen és megszabadítja a szűkölködőket.
14 From oppression and violence he redeems their life; and precious is their blood in his sight.	14 Megmenti őket az elnyomástól és az erőszaktól, mert szemében drága az ő vérük.
15 Long may he live, may gold of Sheba be given to him! May prayer be made for him continually, and blessings invoked for him all the day!	15 Éljen és legyen része Arábia aranyában, imádkoznak is majd érte mindenkor; Áldják őt minden nap.
16 May there be abundance of grain in the land; on the tops of the mountains may it wave; may its fruit be like Lebanon; and may men blossom forth from the cities like the grass of the field!	16 Bőséggel legyen gabona a földön, s hullámozzék a hegyek tetején, mint a Libanon, olyan legyen termése; A város népe virágozzék mint a rét füve.
17 May his name endure for ever, his fame continue as long as the sun! May men bless themselves by him, all nations call him blessed!	17 Áldott legyen neve mindörökre, maradjon meg neve, amíg a nap ragyog; Benne nyerjen áldást a föld minden nemzetsége, dicsérje őt minden nemzet!
18 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things.	18 Áldott legyen az Úr Isten, Izrael Istene, egyedül ő művel csodákat.
19 Blessed be his glorious name for ever; may his glory fill the whole earth! Amen and Amen!	19 Áldott legyen az ő fölséges neve örökre, teljék be fölségével az egész világ! Ámen! Ámen!
