Psalms 7

1 A Shiggaion of David, which he sang to the LORD concerning Cush a Benjaminite. O LORD my God, in thee do I take refuge; save me from all my pursuers, and deliver me,	1 'Lamento che Davide rivolse al Signore per le parole di Cus il Beniaminita.'
2 lest like a lion they rend me, dragging me away, with none to rescue.	2 Signore, mio Dio, in te mi rifugio: salvami e liberami da chi mi perseguita,
3 O LORD my God, if I have done this, if there is wrong in my hands,	3 perché non mi sbrani come un leone, non mi sbrani senza che alcuno mi salvi.
4 if I have requited my friend with evil or plundered my enemy without cause,	4 Signore mio Dio, se così ho agito: se c'è iniquità sulle mie mani,
5 let the enemy pursue me and overtake me, and let him trample my life to the ground, and lay my soul in the dust. [Selah]	5 se ho ripagato il mio amico con il male, se a torto ho spogliato i miei avversari,
6 Arise, O LORD, in thy anger, lift thyself up against the fury of my enemies; awake, O my God; thou hast appointed a judgment.	6 il nemico m'insegua e mi raggiunga, calpesti a terra la mia vita e trascini nella polvere il mio onore.
7 Let the assembly of the peoples be gathered about thee; and over it take thy seat on high.	7 Sorgi, Signore, nel tuo sdegno, levati contro il furore dei nemici, alzati per il giudizio che hai stabilito.
8 The LORD judges the peoples; judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness and according to the integrity that is in me.	8 L'assemblea dei popoli ti circondi: dall'alto volgiti contro di essa.
9 O let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish thou the righteous, thou who triest the minds and hearts, thou righteous God.	9 Il Signore decide la causa dei popoli: giudicami, Signore, secondo la mia giustizia, secondo la mia innocenza, o Altissimo.
10 My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart.	10 Poni fine al male degli empi; rafforza l'uomo retto, tu che provi mente e cuore, Dio giusto.
11 God is a righteous judge, and a God who has indignation every day.	11 La mia difesa è nel Signore, egli salva i retti di cuore.
12 If a man does not repent, God will whet his sword; he has bent and strung his bow;	12 Dio è giudice giusto, ogni giorno si accende il suo sdegno.
13 he has prepared his deadly weapons, making his arrows fiery shafts.	13 Non torna forse ad affilare la spada, a tendere e puntare il suo arco?
14 Behold, the wicked man conceives evil, and is pregnant with mischief, and brings forth lies.	14 Si prepara strumenti di morte, arroventa le sue frecce.
15 He makes a pit, digging it out, and falls into the hole which he has made.	15 Ecco, l'empio produce ingiustizia, concepisce malizia, partorisce menzogna.
16 His mischief returns upon his own head, and on his own pate his violence descends.	16 Egli scava un pozzo profondo e cade nella fossa che ha fatto;
17 I will give to the LORD the thanks due to his righteousness, and I will sing praise to the name of the LORD, the Most High.	17 la sua malizia ricade sul suo capo, la sua violenza gli piomba sulla testa.
	18 Loderò il Signore per la sua giustizia e canterò il nome di Dio, l'Altissimo.
