Seconda lettera a Timoteo 3

1 - Or sappi questo, che negli ultimi giorni verranno dei tempi difficili;	1 Know also this, that, in the last days, shall come dangerous times.
2 perchè gli uomini saranno egoisti, avidi di danaro, vantatori, superbi, maldicenti, ribelli ai genitori, ingrati, irreligiosi, disamorati, sleali, calunniatori, intemperanti, crudeli,	2 Men shall be lovers of themselves, covetous, haughty, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, wicked,
3 senz'amor di bene,	3 Without affection, without peace, slanderers, incontinent, unmerciful, without kindness,
4 traditori, temerari, gonfi di orgoglio, amanti del piacere, più che di Dio,	4 Traitors, stubborn, puffed up, and lovers of pleasures more than of God:
5 con parvenza di pietà, ma rinnegatori di quel che n'è l'essenza vera. Anche costoro fuggi;	5 Having an appearance indeed of godliness, but denying the power thereof. Now these avoid.
6 perchè tra essi vi son quelli che s'insinuano nelle case, e accalappiano delle donnicciuole cariche di peccati, trascinate da svariate passioni,	6 For of these sort are they who creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, who are led away with divers desires:
7 che imparan sempre e non posson mai giungere alla conoscenza della verità.	7 Ever learning, and never attaining to the knowledge of the truth.
8 E in quel modo che Janne e Jambre si opposero a Mosè, così anche costoro resistono alla verità; gente corrotta di mente, di nessun valore per rispetto alla fede.	8 Now as Jannes and Mambres resisted Moses, so these also resist the truth, men corrupted in mind, reprobate concerning the faith.
9 Ma non andranno molto avanti, poichè la loro stoltezza si farà manifesta a tutti, come fu anche il caso di quei due.	9 But they shall proceed no farther; for their folly shall be manifest to all men, as theirs also was.
10 Ma tu hai seguito dappresso la mia dottrina, la mia condotta, i propositi, la fede, la longanimità, l'amore, la costanza,	10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, patience,
11 le persecuzoni, i patimenti, quali mi sopravvennero in Antiochia, a Iconio, a Listri; sai quali persecuzioni io ho sopportato, e da tutte mi ha liberato il Signore.	11 Persecutions, afflictions: such as came upon me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra: what persecutions I endured, and out of them all the Lord delivered me.
12 E quanti vogliono vivere piamente in Cristo Gesù, saranno perseguitati.	12 And all that will live godly in Christ Jesus, shall suffer persecution.
13 Ma i malvagi e gli impostori andranno di male in peggio, traviatori e traviati.	13 But evil men and seducers shall grow worse and worse: erring, and driving into error.
14 Tu attienti a quello che hai imparato e di cui ti sei fatto persuaso, sapendo da chi hai imparato,	14 But continue thou in those things which thou hast learned, and which have been committed to thee: knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
15 e che fin da fanciullo conoscevi le sacre Scritture, le quali hanno la virtù di darti la saggezza che ti porterà alla salvezza mediante la fede in Cristo Gesù.	15 And because from thy infancy thou hast known the holy scriptures, which can instruct thee to salvation, by the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 Tutta la Scrittura è divinamente ispirata, e utile ad insegnare, a redarguire, a correggere, a educare alla giustizia	16 All scripture, inspired of God, is profitable to teach, to reprove, to correct, to instruct in justice,
17 affinchè l'uomo di Dio sia perfetto e reso adatto a qualsiasi opera buona.	17 That the man of God may be perfect, furnished to every good work.
