Osea 8

1 - Imbocca la tromba: come aquila sopra la casa del Signore! Dopo che hanno trasgredito il mio patto e prevaricarono dalla mia legge,	1 Let there be a trumpet in your throat, like an eagle over the house of the Lord, on behalf of those who have transgressed my covenant and violated my law.
2 grideranno verso di me invocandomi: - Dio mio, noi ti riconosciamo, siamo Israele! -	2 They will call on me: “O my God, we, Israel, know you.”
3 Israele ha rigettato il bene, il nemico lo perseguiterà.	3 Israel has thrown away goodness; the enemy will overtake him.
4 Regnarono da sè e non per me; si costituirono principi, ma io non li ho riconosciuti; il loro oro e il loro argento l'adoperarono a farsi degli idoli a fine di rovinarsi.	4 They have reigned, but not by me. Leaders have emerged, and I did not recognize them. Their silver and their gold, they have made into idols for themselves, so that they might cross over.
5 Reietto è il tuo vitello, Samaria; il mio sdegno freme contro di loro: quanto ancora resteranno senza che possano farne purificazione!	5 Your calf, Samaria, has been rejected. My fury has been enraged against them. How long will they be incapable of being cleansed?
6 Perchè anch'esso è opera d'Israele: un artefice l'ha fatto, ma Dio esso non è; anzi tele di ragno sarà per essere il vitello di Samaria!	6 For it is itself also from Israel: a workman made it, and it is not God. For the calf of Samaria will be used for the webs of spiders.
7 Semineranno vento, raccoglieranno tempesta; non un gambo rigoglioso; un germoglio che non granirà, e se granirà se lo inghiotteranno gli stranieri.	7 For they will sow wind and reap a whirlwind. It does not have a firm stalk; the bud will yield no grain. But if it does yield, strangers will eat it.
8 Israele è stato inghiottito; ora è diventato come un vaso immondo tra le nazioni!	8 Israel has been devoured. Now, among the nations, it has become like an unclean vessel.
9 Perchè essi stessi salirono ad Assur. L'onagro sta solitario: Efraim andò a offrire presenti agli amanti.	9 For they have gone up to Assur, a wild ass alone by himself. Ephraim has given presents to his lovers.
10 E giacchè hanno anche pagato le nazioni per la loro protezione, ora io li raccoglierò e li sgraverò per un poco dal peso di un re e di principi.	10 But even when they will have brought the nations together for the sake of money, now I will assemble them. And they will rest for a little while from the burden of the king and the leaders.
11 Giacchè Efraim moltiplicò gli altari, occasioni di peccato, gli altari diventarono per lui causa di peccato.	11 For Ephraim multiplied altars to sin, and sanctuaries have become an offense for him.
12 Gli scriverò io bene le molteplici leggi mie, saranno tenute in conto di straniere.	12 I will write to him my intricate laws, which have been treated like strangers.
13 Offriranno oblazioni, immoleranno carni e mangeranno, ma il Signore non le accetterà; ormai ricorderà la loro iniquità e farà espiazione dei loro peccati; essi torneranno in Egitto.	13 They will offer victims, they will immolate flesh and will eat, and the Lord will not accept them. For now he will remember their iniquity, and he will repay their sins: they will be turned back to Egypt.
14 Israele si è scordato di colui che l'ha formato e costrusse edifici; e Giuda moltiplicò le città fortificate, ma io metterò alle sue città il fuoco e divorerà i suoi palazzi.	14 And Israel has forgotten his Maker and has built shrines. And Judah has increased its fortified cities. And I will send fire upon his cities, and it will devour its structures.
