Levitico 17

1 - Ed il Signore parlando a Mosè gli disse:	1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2 «Parla ad Aronne ed a' suoi figli, ed a tutti i figli di Israele, e di' loro: - Il Signore mi ha dato quest'ordine e m'ha detto:	2 Speak to Aaron and his sons, and to all the sons of Israel, saying to them: This is the word, which the Lord has commanded, saying:
3 "Chiunque della casa di Israele abbia ucciso un bove o una pecora o una capra, nel campo o fuori del campo,	3 Any man at all of the house of Israel, if he will have killed an ox, or a sheep, or a goat in the camp or beyond the camp,
4 e non l'abbia presentata all'ingresso del tabernacolo in oblazione al Signore, sarà reo di sangue, e verrà radiato di fra il suo popolo come se avesse versato del sangue.	4 and not have presented it as an oblation to the Lord at the door of the tabernacle, he shall be guilty of blood. It is just as if he had shed blood; so then, he shall perish from the midst of his people.
5 Pertanto i figli di Israele debbono presentare al sacerdote gli animali da loro uccisi alla campagna, acciò siano consacrati al Signore all'ingresso del tabernacolo della testimonianza, ed immolati come ostie pacifiche al Signore.	5 Therefore, the sons of Israel must offer to the priest their victims, which they kill in the field, so that they may be sanctified to the Lord before the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, and so that they may immolate them as peace offerings to the Lord.
6 Il Sacerdote ne verserà il sangue sopra l'altare del Signore all'ingresso del tabernacolo della testimonianza, e ne brucerà il grasso in odore di soavità al Signore.	6 And the priest shall pour the blood upon the altar of the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, and he shall burn the fat as a sweet odor to the Lord.
7 Così non offriranno più le loro vittime ai demoni co' quali avevano fornicato. Sarà questa una legge perpetua per loro, e pei loro discendenti". -	7 And they shall no longer immolate their victims to demons, with whom they have committed fornication. It shall be an everlasting ordinance for them and for their posterity.
8 E ad essi dirai: - Chiunque del popolo d'Israele, o dei forestieri dimoranti presso di voi, offrirà un olocausto o una vittima,	8 And you shall say to them: The man of the house of Israel, or of the newcomers who sojourn with you, who offers a holocaust or a victim,
9 e non la presenterà all'ingresso del tabernacolo della testimonianza acciò sia offerta al Signore, perirà di fra il popolo.	9 and who does not bring it to the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, so that it may be offered to the Lord, shall pass away from his people.
10 Qualunque uomo della casa di Israele, o dei forestieri che in essa si ritrovano, il quale si sia cibato di sangue, io lo guarderò con inimicizia, e lo sterminerò dal suo popolo.	10 Any man at all of the house of Israel, or of the newcomers who sojourn among them, if he has eaten blood, I will harden my face against his soul, and I will drive him from his people.
11 Perchè la vita d'un animale sta nel suo sangue; io ve l'ho dato, il sangue, acciò con esso facciate espiazione sopra l'altare per le vostre anime, e sia in rimedio dell'anima.	11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you, so that you may atone with it upon the altar for your souls, and so that the blood may be for an expiation of the soul.
12 Perciò ho detto ai figli d'Israele: "Nessuno di voi mangerà sangue, e nemmeno alcuno de' forestieri che si trovano fra voi".	12 For this reason, I have said to the sons of Israel: No soul among you shall eat blood, nor among the newcomers who sojourn with you.
13 Ognuno de' figli d'Israele, e dei forestieri che si trovano in mezzo a voi, il quale abbia preso a caccia o con le reti una bestia o un uccello di quelli de' quali è lecito cibarsi, ne faccia uscire il sangue e lo cuopra di terra.	13 Any man at all from the sons of Israel, or from the newcomers who sojourn with you, whether by hunting or bird-catching, if he seizes a wild beast or a bird, which is lawful to eat, let him pour out its blood and cover the earth with it.
14 Perchè la vita d'ogni animale sta nel sangue; laonde ho detto ai figli di Israele: "Non mangiate il sangue di nessun animale, perchè nel sangue risiede la vita dei viventi, e chiunque ne mangia perirà.	14 For the life of all flesh is in the blood. Therefore, I said to the sons of Israel: You shall not eat the blood of any flesh at all, because the life of the flesh is in the blood, and whoever has eaten it shall perish.
15 La persona che avrà mangiato un animale morto da sè o ucciso da una fiera, tanto della vostra nazione quanto dei forestieri, si laverà le vesti ed il corpo nell'acqua, e rimarrà immondo sino alla sera; poi ritornerà mondo.	15 The soul who eats what has died on its own, or what has been caught by a beast, whether he is native born or a newcomer, shall wash his clothes and himself with water, and he shall be contaminated until evening. And by this means he shall be made clean.
16 Ma se non si laverà le vesti ed il corpo, pagherà il fio della sua iniquità" -».	16 But if he will not wash his clothes and his body, he shall bear his iniquity.
