1 - Al corifeo: per la vendemmia (?). Salmo di David.	1 [For the choirmaster On the . . . of Gath Psalm Of David] Yahweh our Lord, how majestic is your namethroughout the world! Whoever keeps singing of your majesty higher than the heavens,
2 Signore, Iddio nostro, quant' è ammirabile il tuo nome su tutta la terra! Poichè s' inalza la tua magnificenza al di sopra de' cieli:	2 even through the mouths of children, or of babes in arms, you make him a fortress, firm against yourfoes, to subdue the enemy and the rebel.
3 dalla bocca [stessa] de' bambini e de' lattantiti sei procacciato lode a scorno de' tuoi nemici, per annientare l'avversario e il vendicativo.	3 I look up at your heavens, shaped by your fingers, at the moon and the stars you set firm-
4 Quando miro i tuoi cieli, opera delle tue dita, la luna e le stelle che tu v'hai disposto;	4 what are human beings that you spare a thought for them, or the child of Adam that you care for him?
5 «Cos'è l'uomo,» [esclamò] «Che tu ti ricordi di lui? o il figliuolo dell'uomo, perché di lui tu ti prenda cura?».	5 Yet you have made him little less than a god, you have crowned him with glory and beauty,
6 [Eppure] di poco l'hai fatto inferiore agli angeli, di gloria e d'onore l'hai coronato;	6 made him lord of the works of your hands, put al things under his feet,
7 e l'hai posto a capo delle opere delle tue mani, tutto hai messo sotto i suoi piedi:	7 sheep and cattle, all of them, and even the wild beasts,
8 le pecore e i buoi tuttie le bestie ancora della campagna,	8 birds in the sky, fish in the sea, when he makes his way across the ocean.
9 gli uccelli del cielo e i pesci del mare, che batton le vie del mare.	9 Yahweh our Lord, how majestic your name throughout the world!
10 Signore, Iddio nostro, quant'è ammirabile il tuo nome su tutta la terra!
