Judges 10

1 After Abimelech, a leader rose up in Israel, Tola, the son of Puah, the paternal uncle of Abimelech, a man of Issachar, who lived in Shamir on mount Ephraim.	1 και ανεστη μετα αβιμελεχ του σωσαι τον ισραηλ θωλα υιος φουα υιος πατραδελφου αυτου ανηρ ισσαχαρ και αυτος κατωκει εν σαμαρεια εν ορει εφραιμ
2 And he judged Israel for twenty-three years, and he died and was buried at Shamir.	2 και εκρινεν τον ισραηλ εικοσι και τρια ετη και απεθανεν και εταφη εν σαμαρεια
3 After him succeeded Jair, a Gileadite, who judged Israel for twenty-two years,	3 και ανεστη μετ' αυτον ιαιρ ο γαλααδιτης και εκρινεν τον ισραηλ εικοσι και δυο ετη
4 having thirty sons sitting upon thirty young donkeys, and who were leaders of thirty cities, which from his name were called Havvoth Jair, that is, the towns of Jair, even to the present day, in the land of Gilead.	4 και εγενοντο αυτω τριακοντα και δυο υιοι επιβεβηκοτες επι τριακοντα και δυο πωλους και τριακοντα και δυο πολεις αυτοις και εκαλεσεν αυτας επαυλεις ιαιρ εως της ημερας ταυτης αι εισιν εν τη γη γαλααδ
5 And Jair died, and he was buried in the place which is called Kamon.	5 και απεθανεν ιαιρ και εταφη εν ραμμω
6 But the sons of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, joining new sins to old, and they served idols, the Baals and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria and Sidon, and of Moab and the sons of Ammon, and the Philistines. And they abandoned the Lord, and they did not worship him.	6 και προσεθεντο οι υιοι ισραηλ ποιησαι το πονηρον εναντι κυριου και ελατρευσαν ταις βααλιμ και ταις ασταρωθ και τοις θεοις σιδωνος και τοις θεοις μωαβ και τοις θεοις υιων αμμων και τοις θεοις των αλλοφυλων και εγκατελιπον τον κυριον και ουκ εδουλευσαν αυτω
7 And the Lord, becoming angry against them, delivered them into the hands of the Philistines and the sons of Ammon.	7 και εθυμωθη οργη κυριος εν τω ισραηλ και απεδοτο αυτους εν χειρι αλλοφυλων και εν χειρι υιων αμμων
8 And they were afflicted and vehemently oppressed for eighteen years, all who were living beyond the Jordan in the land of the Amorite, which is in Gilead,	8 και εσαθρωσαν και εθλασαν τους υιους ισραηλ εν τω ενιαυτω εκεινω οκτωκαιδεκα ετη παντας τους υιους ισραηλ εν τω περαν του ιορδανου εν τη γη του αμορραιου εν τη γαλααδιτιδι
9 to such a great extent that the sons of Ammon, crossing over the Jordan, laid waste to Judah and Benjamin and Ephraim. And Israel was exceedingly afflicted.	9 και διεβησαν οι υιοι αμμων τον ιορδανην εκπολεμησαι και εν τω ιουδα και βενιαμιν και εν τω οικω εφραιμ και εθλιβησαν οι υιοι ισραηλ σφοδρα
10 And crying out to the Lord, they said: “We have sinned against you. For we have forsaken the Lord our God, and we have served the Baals.”	10 και εκεκραξαν οι υιοι ισραηλ προς κυριον λεγοντες ημαρτομεν σοι οτι εγκατελιπομεν τον θεον ημων και ελατρευσαμεν ταις βααλιμ
11 And the Lord said to them: “Did not the Egyptians, and the Amorites, and the sons of Ammon, and the Philistines,	11 και ειπεν κυριος προς τους υιους ισραηλ ουχι οι αιγυπτιοι και οι αμορραιοι και οι υιοι αμμων και μωαβ και οι αλλοφυλοι
12 and also the Sidonians, and Amalek, and Canaan, oppress you, and so you cried out to me, and I rescued you from their hand?	12 και σιδωνιοι και μαδιαμ και αμαληκ εξεθλιψαν υμας και εκεκραξατε προς με και εσωσα υμας εκ χειρος αυτων
13 And yet you have forsaken me, and you have worshipped foreign gods. For this reason, I will not continue to free you any more.	13 και υμεις εγκατελιπετε με και ελατρευσατε θεοις ετεροις δια τουτο ου προσθησω του σωσαι υμας
14 Go, and call upon the gods whom you have chosen. Let them free you in the time of anguish.”	14 βαδιζετε και βοατε προς τους θεους ους εξελεξασθε εαυτοις και αυτοι σωσατωσαν υμας εν καιρω θλιψεως υμων
15 And the sons of Israel said to the Lord: “We have sinned. You may repay us in whatever way pleases you. Yet free us now.”	15 και ειπαν οι υιοι ισραηλ προς κυριον ημαρτομεν ποιησον συ ημιν κατα παντα οσα αν αρεσκη ενωπιον σου πλην κυριε εξελου ημας εν τη ημερα ταυτη
16 And saying these things, they cast out all the idols of the foreign gods from their regions, and they served the Lord God. And he was touched by their miseries.	16 και μετεστησαν τους θεους τους αλλοτριους εκ μεσου αυτων και ελατρευσαν τω κυριω και ουκ ευηρεστησεν εν τω λαω και ωλιγοψυχησεν εν τω κοπω ισραηλ
17 And then the sons of Ammon, shouting out together, pitched their tents in Gilead. And the sons of Israel gathered together against them, and they made camp at Mizpah.	17 και ανεβησαν οι υιοι αμμων και παρενεβαλον εν γαλααδ και εξηλθον οι υιοι ισραηλ και παρενεβαλον εν τη μασσηφα
18 And the leaders of Gilead said to one another, “Whoever among us will be the first to begin to contend against the sons of Ammon, he shall be the leader of the people of Gilead.”	18 και ειπον οι αρχοντες του λαου γαλααδ ανηρ προς τον πλησιον αυτου τις ανηρ ος αρξεται πολεμησαι εν τοις υιοις αμμων και εσται εις κεφαλην πασιν τοις κατοικουσιν γαλααδ
