1 Now the main point in the things that have been stated is this: that we have so great a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of Majesty in the heavens,	1 or il punto capitale di quanto diciamo è che noi abbiamo un tal pontefice il quale siede alla destra del trono della Maestà nei cieli,
2 who is the minister of holy things, and of the true tabernacle, which was established by the Lord, not by man.	2 qual ministro del santuario e del vero tabernacolo eretto dal Signore, e non dall'uomo.
3 For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices. Therefore, it is necessary for him also to have something to offer.	3 Ma ogni pontefice è destinato ad offrir doni e vittime; bisogna dunque che anche lui abbia qualche cosa da offrire.
4 And so, if he were upon the earth, he would not be a priest, since there would be others to offer gifts according to the law,	4 Or se egli fosse sopra la terra, non sarebbe nemmen sacerdote, finché restano quelli che offrono doni secondo la legge,
5 gifts which serve as mere examples and shadows of the heavenly things. And so it was answered to Moses, when he was about to complete the tabernacle: “See to it,” he said, “that you make everything according to the example which was revealed to you on the mountain.”	5 i quali non servono che a dar la copia e l'ombra delle cose celesti, come fu detto a Mosè quando stava per compire il tabernacolo: Bada - disse - di non fare tutto secondo il modello che ti è stato fatto vedere sul monte.
6 But now he has been granted a better ministry, so much so that he is also the Mediator of a better testament, which has been confirmed by better promises.	6 Ma ora Cristo ha avuto un ministero più eccellente in quanto è mediatore di migliore alleanza, basata su migliori promesse.
7 For if the former one had been entirely without fault, then a place certainly would not have been sought for a subsequent one.	7 Ma se quella prima alleanza fosse stata senza difetto non si sarebbe cercato di sostituirla con una seconda;
8 For, finding fault with them, he says: “Behold, the days shall arrive, says the Lord, when I will consummate a New Testament over the house of Israel and the house of Judah,	8 invece biasimandola dice: « Ecco verranno i giorni, dice il Signore, nei quali stringerò colla casa d'Israele e colla casa di Giuda una nuova alleanza,
9 not according to the testament which I made with their fathers, on the day when I took them by the hand, so that I might lead them away from the land of Egypt. For they did not remain in my testament, and so I disregarded them, says the Lord.	9 non un'alleanza come quella che feci coi loro padri, nel giorni in cui li presi per mano per trarli fuori dalla terra d'Egitto; perché essi non rimasero fedeli alla mia alleanza e non mi sono più curato di loro, dice il Signore.
10 For this is the testament which I will set before the house of Israel, after those days, says the Lord. I will instill my laws in their minds, and I will inscribe my laws on their hearts. And so, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.	10 E questa è l'alleanza che stringerò colla casa d'Israele dopo quei giorni, dice il Signore: porrò le mie leggi nella loro mente e le scriverò sui loro cuori; e sarò il loro Dio ed essi saranno il mio popolo:
11 And they will not teach, each one his neighbor, and each one his brother, saying: ‘Know the Lord.’ For all shall know me, from the least, even to the greatest of them.	11 e non ci sarà bisogno che ciascuno istruisca il suo prossimo o con il suo fratello col dire: Riconosci il Signore; perchè tutti dal più piccolo al più grande di loro, mi conosceranno.
12 For I will forgive their iniquities, and I will no longer remember their sins.”	12 Io perdonerò più dei loro peccati.
13 Now in saying something new, he has made the former old. But that which decays and grows old is close to passing away.	13 Ma dicendo « nuova » dichiarò antica la prima. Or ciò che è antiquato e vecchio, è vicino a sparire.
