1 Paul and Sylvanus and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians, in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.	1 Pablo, Silvano y Timoteo a la Iglesia de los Tesalonicenses, en Dios Padre y en el Señor Jesucristo. A vosotros gracia y paz.
2 Grace and peace to you. We give thanks to God always for all of you, keeping the memory of you in our prayers without ceasing,	2 En todo momento damos gracia a Dios por todos vosotros, recordándoos sin cesar en nuestras oraciones.
3 remembering your work of faith, and hardship, and charity, and enduring hope, in our Lord Jesus Christ, before God our Father.	3 Tenemos presente ante nuestro Dios y Padre la obra de vuestra fe, los trabajos de vuestra caridad, y la tenacidad de vuestra esperanza en Jesucristo nuestro Señor.
4 For we know, brothers, beloved of God, of your election.	4 Conocemos, hermanos queridos de Dios, vuestra elección;
5 For our Gospel has not been among you in word alone, but also in virtue, and in the Holy Spirit, and with a great fullness, in the same manner as you know we have acted among you for your sake.	5 ya que os fue predicado nuestro Evangelio no sólo con palabras sino también con poder y con el Espíritu Santo, con plena persuasión. Sabéis cómo nos portamos entre vosotros en atención a vosotros.
6 And so, you became imitators of us and of the Lord, accepting the Word in the midst of great tribulation, but with the joy of the Holy Spirit.	6 Por vuestra parte, os hicisteis imitadores nuestros y del Señor, abrazando la Palabra con gozo del Espíritu Santo en medio de muchas tribulaciones.
7 So have you become a pattern for all who believe in Macedonia and in Achaia.	7 De esta manera os habéis convertido en modelo para todos los creyentes de Macedonia y de Acaya.
8 For from you, the Word of the Lord was spread, not only in Macedonia and in Achaia, but also in every place. Your faith, which is toward God, has advanced so much so that we do not need to speak to you about anything.	8 Partiendo de vosotros, en efecto, ha resonado la Palabra del Señor y vuestra fe en Dios se ha difundido no sólo en Macedonia y en Acaya, sino por todas partes, de manera que nada nos queda por decir.
9 For others are reporting among us of the kind of acceptance we had among you, and how you were converted from idols to God, to the service of the living and true God,	9 Ellos mismos cuentan de nosotros cuál fue nuestra entrada a vosotros, y cómo os convertisteis a Dios, tras haber abandonado los ídolos, para servir a Dios vivo y verdadero,
10 and to the expectation of his Son from heaven (whom he raised up from the dead), Jesus, who has rescued us from the approaching wrath.	10 y esperar así a su Hijo Jesús que ha de venir de los cielos, a quien resucitó de entre los muertos y que nos salva de la Cólera venidera.
