Colossians 2

1 For I want you to know the kind of solicitude that I have for you, and for those who are at Laodicea, as well as for those who have not seen my face in the flesh.	1 Voglio infatti che sappiate quale dura lotta devo sostenere per voi, per quelli di Laodicèa e per tutti quelli che non mi hanno mai visto di persona,
2 May their hearts be consoled and instructed in charity, with all the riches of a plenitude of understanding, with knowledge of the mystery of God the Father and of Christ Jesus.	2 perché i loro cuori vengano consolati. E così, intimamente uniti nell’amore, essi siano arricchiti di una piena intelligenza per conoscere il mistero di Dio, che è Cristo:
3 For in him are hidden all treasures of wisdom and knowledge.	3 in lui sono nascosti tutti i tesori della sapienza e della conoscenza.
4 Now I say this, so that no one may deceive you with grandiose words.	4 Dico questo perché nessuno vi inganni con argomenti seducenti:
5 For though I may be absent in body, yet I am with you in spirit. And I rejoice as I gaze upon your order and its foundation, which is in Christ, your faith.	5 infatti, anche se sono lontano con il corpo, sono però tra voi con lo spirito e gioisco vedendo la vostra condotta ordinata e la saldezza della vostra fede in Cristo.
6 Therefore, just as you have received the Lord Jesus Christ, walk in him.	6 Come dunque avete accolto Cristo Gesù, il Signore, in lui camminate,
7 Be rooted and continually built up in Christ. And be confirmed in the faith, just as you have also learned it, increasing in him with acts of thanksgiving.	7 radicati e costruiti su di lui, saldi nella fede come vi è stato insegnato, sovrabbondando nel rendimento di grazie.
8 See to it that no one deceives you through philosophy and empty falsehoods, as found in the traditions of men, in accord with the influences of the world, and not in accord with Christ.	8 Fate attenzione che nessuno faccia di voi sua preda con la filosofia e con vuoti raggiri ispirati alla tradizione umana, secondo gli elementi del mondo e non secondo Cristo.
9 For in him, all the fullness of the Divine Nature dwells bodily.	9 È in lui che abita corporalmente tutta la pienezza della divinità,
10 And in him, you have been filled; for he is the head of all principality and power.	10 e voi partecipate della pienezza di lui, che è il capo di ogni Principato e di ogni Potenza.
11 In him also, you have been circumcised with a circumcision not made by hand, not by the despoiling of the body of flesh, but by the circumcision of Christ.	11 In lui voi siete stati anche circoncisi non mediante una circoncisione fatta da mano d’uomo con la spogliazione del corpo di carne, ma con la circoncisione di Cristo:
12 You have been buried with him in baptism. In him also, you have risen again through faith, by the work of God, who raised him up from the dead.	12 con lui sepolti nel battesimo, con lui siete anche risorti mediante la fede nella potenza di Dio, che lo ha risuscitato dai morti.
13 And when you were dead in your transgressions and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, he enlivened you, together with him, forgiving you of all transgressions,	13 Con lui Dio ha dato vita anche a voi, che eravate morti a causa delle colpe e della non circoncisione della vostra carne, perdonandoci tutte le colpe e
14 and wiping away the handwriting of the decree which was against us, which was contrary to us. And he has taken this away from your midst, affixing it to the Cross.	14 annullando il documento scritto contro di noi che, con le prescrizioni, ci era contrario: lo ha tolto di mezzo inchiodandolo alla croce.
15 And so, despoiling principalities and powers, he has led them away confidently and openly, triumphing over them in himself.	15 Avendo privato della loro forza i Principati e le Potenze, ne ha fatto pubblico spettacolo, trionfando su di loro in Cristo.
16 Therefore, let no one judge you as concerns food or drink, or a particular feast day, or feast days of new moons, or of Sabbaths.	16 Nessuno dunque vi condanni in fatto di cibo o di bevanda, o per feste, noviluni e sabati:
17 For these are a shadow of the future, but the body is of Christ.	17 queste cose sono ombra di quelle future, ma la realtà è di Cristo.
18 Let no one seduce you, preferring base things and a religion of Angels, walking according to what he has not seen, being vainly inflated by the sensations of his flesh,	18 Nessuno che si compiace vanamente del culto degli angeli e corre dietro alle proprie immaginazioni, gonfio di orgoglio nella sua mente carnale, vi impedisca di conseguire il premio:
19 and not holding up the head, with which the whole body, by its underlying joints and ligaments, is joined together and grows with an increase that is of God.	19 costui non si stringe al capo, dal quale tutto il corpo riceve sostentamento e coesione per mezzo di giunture e legamenti e cresce secondo il volere di Dio.
20 So then, if you have died with Christ to the influences of this world, why do you still make decisions as if you were living in the world?	20 Se siete morti con Cristo agli elementi del mondo, perché, come se viveste ancora nel mondo, lasciarvi imporre precetti quali:
21 Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle these things,	21 «Non prendere, non gustare, non toccare»?
22 which all lead to destruction by their very use, in accord with the precepts and doctrines of men.	22 Sono tutte cose destinate a scomparire con l’uso, prescrizioni e insegnamenti di uomini,
23 Such ideas have at least an intention to attain to wisdom, but through superstition and debasement, not sparing the body, and they are without any honor in satiating the flesh.	23 che hanno una parvenza di sapienza con la loro falsa religiosità e umiltà e mortificazione del corpo, ma in realtà non hanno alcun valore se non quello di soddisfare la carne.
