Deuteronomy 33

CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 This is the blessing, with which Moses, the man of God, blessed the sons of Israel before his death.	1 Esta es la bendición con que Moisés, el hombre de Dios, bendijo a los israelitas antes de morir.
2 And he said: “The Lord went forth from Sinai, and he arose for us from Seir. He appeared from Mount Paran, and thousands of holy ones were with him. The fiery law was in his right hand.	2 El dijo: «El Señor vino del Sinaí, brilló para ellos desde Seír; resplandeció desde el monte Parán y llegó a Meribá de Cades, desde el sur hasta las pendientes.
3 He loved the people; all the holy ones are in his hand. And those who approach his feet shall receive from his doctrine.	3 El ama de veras a los pueblos; ¡todos sus santos están en tus manos! Ellos se postran a tus pies, cada uno recibe tus palabras.
4 Moses instructed us in the law, the inheritance of the multitude of Jacob.	4 Moisés nos prescribió una Ley, que es la posesión de la asamblea de Jacob.
5 The king shall have great righteousness, at the gathering of the princes of the people with the tribes of Israel.	5 Y hubo un rey en lesurún, cuando se reunieron los jefes del pueblo, junto con las tribus de Israel.
6 Let Ruben live, and not die, and may he be small in number.”	6 Que viva Rubén y no muera, aunque sus hombres sean pocos».
7 This is the blessing of Judah. “Hear, O Lord, the voice of Judah, and lead him to his people. His hands shall fight for him, and he shall be his helper against his adversaries.”	7 De Judá dijo lo siguiente: «Escucha, Señor, la voz de Judá, y reintégralo a su pueblo; él se defenderá con su mano y tú serás una ayuda contra sus adversarios».
8 Likewise, to Levi he said: “Your perfection and your doctrine are for your holy man, whom you have proven by temptation, and whom you have judged at the Waters of Contradiction.	8 Dijo acerca de Leví: «Que tu Tumim y tu Urim estén con tu hombre de confianza: el que pusiste a prueba en Masá y por quien litigaste junto a las aguas de Meribá;
9 He has said to his father and to his mother, ‘I do not know you,’ and to his brothers, ‘I will disregard you.’ And they have not known their own sons. Such as these have kept your word and have observed your covenant:	9 el que dijo de su padre y de su madre: «No los he visto»; el que no reconoció a sus hermanos e ignoró hasta a sus propios hijos. Porque ellos observaron tu palabra y mantuvieron tu alianza.
10 your judgments, O Jacob, and your law, O Israel. They shall place incense before your fury and a holocaust upon your altar.	10 Ellos enseñan tus normas a Jacob y tu Ley a Israel; hacen subir hasta ti el incienso y ofrecen el holocausto en tu altar.
11 O Lord, bless his strength, and receive the works of his hands. Strike the backs of his enemies, and do not let those who hate him rise up.”	11 Bendice, Señor, su valor y acepta la obra de sus manos. Castiga las espaldas de su agresores y que sus enemigos no se levanten más».
12 And to Benjamin he said: “The most beloved of the Lord will live confidently in him. He shall remain all day long, as if in a bridal chamber, and he shall rest amid her arms.”	12 Dijo acerca de Benjamín: «El amado del Señor habita seguro junto a aquel que lo protege constantemente; y habita entre los flancos de sus colinas».
13 Likewise, to Joseph he said: “His land shall be from the blessing of the Lord, from the fruits of heaven, and from the dew, and from the abyss which lies below,	13 Dijo acerca de José: «Que el Señor bendiga su tierra con el más excelente don del cielo –el rocío– y con el océano que se extiende por debajo;
14 from the fruits of the crops under the sun and the moon,	14 con los mejores productos del sol y los brotes más escogidos de cada lunación;
15 from the heights of the ancient mountains, from the fruits of the everlasting hills,	15 con las primicias de las montañas seculares y la riqueza de las colinas eternas;
16 and from the fruits of the earth with all its plenitude. May the blessing of him who appeared in the bush, settle upon the head of Joseph, and upon the top of the head of the Nazarite among his brothers.	16 con la fecundidad de la tierra y con su plenitud. y con el favor del que mora en la Zarza. Que todo esto descienda sobre la cabeza de José, sobre la frente del consagrado entre sus hermanos.
17 His excellence is like that of a first-born bull. His horns are like the horns of a rhinoceros; he shall brandish these against the Gentiles, even to the ends of the earth. These are the multitudes of Ephraim, and these the thousands of Manasseh.”	17 El es un toro primogénito: a él, la gloria; sus cuernos son cuernos de búfalo: con ellos embiste a los pueblos hasta los confines de la tierra. Así son las decenas de miles de Efraím, así son los millares de Manasés».
18 And to Zebulun he said: “Rejoice, O Zebulun, in your departure, and Issachar, in your tabernacles.	18 Dijo acerca de Zabulón: «Alégrate, Zabulón, de tus salidas, y tú, Isacar, en tus carpas.
19 They shall summon the peoples to the mountain. There, they shall immolate the victims of justice, who feed on the flood of the sea, as if on milk, and on the hidden treasures of the sands.”	19 Ellos convocan a los pueblos en la montaña. donde ofrecen sacrificios legítimos, porque disfrutan de la abundancia de los mares y de los tesoros ocultos en la arena».
20 And to Gad he said: “Blessed is Gad in his breadth. He has rested like a lion, and he has seized the arm and the top of the head.	20 Dijo acerca de Gad: «¡Bendito sea el que abre campo libre a Gad! Tendido como una leona, despedaza el brazo y también la cabeza.
21 And he has seen his own pre-eminence, which his teacher has stored up as his portion. He was with the princes of the people, and he accomplished the justices of the Lord, and his judgment with Israel.”	21 El se atribuyó las primicias, porque allí estaba reservada la porción de un jefe. El vino con los jefes del pueblo, ejecutó la justicia del Señor y sus juicios en favor de Israel».
22 Likewise, to Dan he said: “Dan is a young lion. He shall flow plentifully from Bashan.”	22 Dijo acerca de Dan: «Dan es un cachorro de león, que se abalanza desde Basán».
23 And to Naphtali he said: “Naphtali shall enjoy abundance, and he shall be full of the blessings of the Lord. He shall possess the sea and the Meridian.”	23 Dijo acerca de Neftalí: «Neftalí, saciado de favor y colmado de la bendición del Señor, toma posesión del oeste y del sur».
24 Likewise, to Asher he said: “Let Asher be blessed with sons. Let him be pleasing to his brothers, and let him dip his foot in oil.	24 Y dijo acerca de Aser: «¡Bendito sea Aser entre todos los hijos! Que sea el favorito de sus hermanos y que bañe sus pies en aceite.
25 His shoe shall be of iron and of brass. As were the days of your youth, so also shall be your old age.	25 Que tus cerrojos sean de hierro y de bronce, y tu poder dure tanto como tus días.
26 There is no other god like the God of the most righteous one. He who rides upon the heavens is your helper. His magnificence scatters the clouds.	26 lesurún, no hay nadie como Dios, que cabalga por los cielos para venir en tu ayuda. y por las nubes, lleno de majestad.
27 His habitation is above, and the everlasting arms are below. 28 Israel shall live in confidence and alone, as the eye of Jacob in a land of grain and of wine; and the heavens shall be misty with dew.	28 Así Israel habita seguro, la fuente de Jacob, en un lugar apartado, en una tierra de trigo y de vino, cuyo cielo destila rocío.
29 Blessed are you, O Israel. Who is like you, the people who are saved by the Lord? He is the shield of your assistance and the sword of your glory. Your enemies will refuse to acknowledge you, and so you shall tread upon their necks.”	29 ¡Dichoso tú, Israel! ¿Quién es como tú, pueblo salvado por el Señor? El es tu escudo protector, tu espada victoriosa. Tus enemigos te adularán, pero tú pisotearás sus espaldas».
