Deuteronomy 27

1 Then Moses and the elders of Israel instructed the people, saying: “Keep each commandment that I instruct to you this day.	1 ויצו משה וזקני ישראל את העם לאמר שמר את כל המצוה אשר אנכי מצוה אתכם היום
2 And when you have crossed over the Jordan, into the land which the Lord your God will give to you, you shall erect immense stones, and you shall coat them with plaster,	2 והיה ביום אשר תעברו את הירדן אל הארץ אשר יהוה אלהיך נתן לך והקמת לך אבנים גדלות ושדת אתם בשיד
3 so that you may be able to write upon them all the words of this law, when you have crossed the Jordan so as to enter into the land which the Lord your God will give to you, a land flowing with milk and honey, just as he swore to your fathers.	3 וכתבת עליהן את כל דברי התורה הזאת בעברך למען אשר תבא אל הארץ אשר יהוה אלהיך נתן לך ארץ זבת חלב ודבש כאשר דבר יהוה אלהי אבתיך לך
4 Therefore, when you have crossed over the Jordan, erect the stones, just as I instruct you to do this day, on Mount Ebal. And you shall coat them with plaster,	4 והיה בעברכם את הירדן תקימו את האבנים האלה אשר אנכי מצוה אתכם היום בהר עיבל ושדת אותם בשיד
5 and you shall build, in that place, an altar to the Lord your God out of stones which have not been touched by iron,	5 ובנית שם מזבח ליהוה אלהיך מזבח אבנים לא תניף עליהם ברזל
6 out of stones which have not been hewn or polished. And you shall offer holocausts on it to the Lord your God.	6 אבנים שלמות תבנה את מזבח יהוה אלהיך והעלית עליו עולת ליהוה אלהיך
7 And you shall immolate peace victims. And you shall eat and feast in that place, in the sight of the Lord your God.	7 וזבחת שלמים ואכלת שם ושמחת לפני יהוה אלהיך
8 And you shall write upon the stones all the words of this law, plainly and clearly.”	8 וכתבת על האבנים את כל דברי התורה הזאת באר היטב
9 And Moses and the priests of Levitical stock said to all of Israel: “Attend and listen, O Israel! Today you have become the people of the Lord your God.	9 וידבר משה והכהנים הלוים אל כל ישראל לאמר הסכת ושמע ישראל היום הזה נהיית לעם ליהוה אלהיך
10 You shall listen to his voice, and you shall do the commandments and justices, which I am entrusting to you.”	10 ושמעת בקול יהוה אלהיך ועשית את מצותו ואת חקיו אשר אנכי מצוך היום
11 And Moses instructed the people in that day, saying:	11 ויצו משה את העם ביום ההוא לאמר
12 “These shall stand upon Mount Gerizim, as a blessing to the people, when you will have crossed the Jordan: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.	12 אלה יעמדו לברך את העם על הר גרזים בעברכם את הירדן שמעון ולוי ויהודה ויששכר ויוסף ובנימן
13 And in the opposite region, there shall stand upon Mount Ebal, as a curse: Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.	13 ואלה יעמדו על הקללה בהר עיבל ראובן גד ואשר וזבולן דן ונפתלי
14 And the Levites shall pronounce and declare to all the men of Israel, with an exalted voice:	14 וענו הלוים ואמרו אל כל איש ישראל קול רם
15 Cursed be the man who makes a graven or molten idol, an abomination to the Lord, a work of the hands of its maker, and who puts it in a secret place. And all the people shall respond by saying: Amen.	15 ארור האיש אשר יעשה פסל ומסכה תועבת יהוה מעשה ידי חרש ושם בסתר וענו כל העם ואמרו אמן
16 Cursed be he who does not honor his father and mother. And all the people shall say: Amen.	16 ארור מקלה אביו ואמו ואמר כל העם אמן
17 Cursed be he who removes his neighbor’s landmarks. And all the people shall say: Amen.	17 ארור מסיג גבול רעהו ואמר כל העם אמן
18 Cursed be he who causes the blind to go astray on a journey. And all the people shall say: Amen.	18 ארור משגה עור בדרך ואמר כל העם אמן
19 Cursed be he who subverts the judgment of the new arrival, the orphan, or the widow. And all the people shall say: Amen.	19 ארור מטה משפט גר יתום ואלמנה ואמר כל העם אמן
20 Cursed be he who lies with his father’s wife, and so exposes the covering of his bed. And all the people shall say: Amen.	20 ארור שכב עם אשת אביו כי גלה כנף אביו ואמר כל העם אמן
21 Cursed be he who lies with any beast. And all the people shall say: Amen.	21 ארור שכב עם כל בהמה ואמר כל העם אמן
22 Cursed be he who lies with his sister, the daughter of his father, or of his mother. And all the people shall say: Amen.	22 ארור שכב עם אחתו בת אביו או בת אמו ואמר כל העם אמן
23 Cursed be he who lies with his mother-in-law. And all the people shall say: Amen.	23 ארור שכב עם חתנתו ואמר כל העם אמן
24 Cursed be he who secretly strikes down his neighbor. And all the people shall say: Amen.	24 ארור מכה רעהו בסתר ואמר כל העם אמן
25 Cursed be he who accepts gifts in order to strike down the life of innocent blood. And all the people shall say: Amen.	25 ארור לקח שחד להכות נפש דם נקי ואמר כל העם אמן
26 Cursed be he who does not remain in the words of this law, and does not carry them out in deed. And all the people shall say: Amen.”	26 ארור אשר לא יקים את דברי התורה הזאת לעשות אותם ואמר כל העם אמן
